Prices and what affects them

Pricing is straightforward once we know the basics:

  • Staff for serving and the bar
  • The length of service
  • What the venue already provides
  • How many guests we’re serving

Extras, such as more dishes, extra drinks or a longer service, are quoted on request, so you can choose what you need.

Getting an accurate quote

A few details help us give you an accurate quote. Here’s what’s useful:

  • How we drive in and where we can park
  • The venue or postcode
  • The date and time of the event
  • Vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, dairy-free and allergy numbers

Each quote is tailored to your event. Give us your date and numbers, and we’ll check availability at the same time.

What happens on the day

Service is quick and friendly: we serve from the hatch or a serving station, so a crowd is looked after quickly. When service ends, we pack down. Evenings in Picket Twenty stay light until about 9:25pm in June, but by late September sunset is around 7:10pm. Once it gets dark, guests need to see what they’re adding to their tacos.

  1. Tell us the date, the venue, how many guests and any diets.
  2. We suggest fillings, salsas and toppings for the bar and send a quote.
  3. We agree where the table goes and where our vehicle can unload.
  4. Our staff set up the station, keep the fillings hot and top up the bar through service.
  5. Once guests have eaten, we take down the bar and leave the spot tidy.

Before we arrive

  • Arrange somewhere covered for guests to eat
  • Tell us what power and water the site has
  • Check the venue is happy to have a truck or trailer on site

FAQs for Picket Twenty

Could you serve our guests after a service at United Reformed Church?

Yes, at a garden, field or venue nearby where the truck or trailer can park. Service would be at the reception venue, not the church. Tell us where the reception will be.

What’s the nearest station to Picket Twenty for guests?

Andover station, about 1.8 miles west of the centre.

How far ahead should we book?

Early, particularly for summer Saturdays. Ask about your date even if it’s soon.

Do you need electricity?

Let us know what’s available on site, for instance a supply from the venue, and we will confirm what we need with your quote.

How much is a taco bar?

Every taco bar is quoted for individually, based on numbers, fillings, the venue and timings. Contact us for a quote.

How big an event can you cater?

That depends on the menu and the service time, but our truck and trailer service typically suits around 50 to 400 guests. For anything outside that, ask us.

Can you keep it mild?

That is your choice: we can keep the main dishes mild, with hotter salsas served separately. Read more about how spicy Mexican food is.

Can you cater in a back garden?

It depends on access. A drive or a spot nearby may work, with permission, if the garden itself is out of reach. Tell us about the space and we’ll advise.

A closer look at the menu

Vegan fillings

Black bean and sweet potato, or spiced mushrooms, cooked separately.

Salsas

Fresh salsas, from a mild tomato salsa to something hotter, made for your event.

Why choose taco bar hire in Picket Twenty?

The difference between a taco bar and truck service is who builds the taco. From the truck, we put each order together; at the taco bar, guests do the building. Cost depends on guest numbers, the menu and the length of service, plus any add-ons and the location. Every event gets its own quote.

Dietary needs are easy to plan for with a little notice. Our advice:

  • Tell us how many children are coming
  • Agree the serving spot with your venue early
  • Ask guests about diets and allergies on the RSVP
  • Send us allergy details in writing

Staff stay at the taco bar to refill bowls and answer questions about fillings and allergens.

Tell us if you need plates and cutlery and we’ll set out the options in your quote.
