How our taco bar hire works in Shopwyke

Mixed diets are simple at a taco bar, as fillings and toppings are kept in separate dishes. There are vegan, vegetarian, dairy-free and gluten-free choices, with corn tortillas for gluten-free guests, plus allergen information for every dish. It works well for garden parties and retirement parties, with fresh salsas, burrito bowls and a build-your-own taco bar.

Somewhere as small as Shopwyke, a garden, barn or hall can host a taco bar. If lanes or soft ground stop the truck getting close, the station can be set up nearer your guests, as long as we can unload within a short walk. Timings are planned around your event, so service starts when you want it.

How it works

Guests tend to gather around the truck, so we plan a spot with space for people to queue. Rain does not normally stop us serving, though guests will want somewhere covered to stand or sit. A December taco bar in Shopwyke will be in the dark from about 4:00pm, so an indoor spot or a well-lit station works best. At midsummer, by contrast, daylight lasts until about 9:20pm.

  1. Start with your date, venue and guest numbers.
  2. We plan the fillings, salsas and toppings with you.
  3. The venue confirms where the bar goes and where we park.
  4. On the day, guests help themselves while we keep the bar stocked.
  5. When everyone has eaten, we pack up.

Before we arrive

Choosing a Mexican caterer

Planning the serving area

We will agree the spot with you before the day. A good spot ticks these boxes:

  • Somewhere close by for our vehicle to park and unload
  • A short, clear path for carrying the bar in
  • A clear area in front of the station

Not sure about your space? Send us a photo and we’ll tell you honestly.

On the menu in Shopwyke

Organising for someone else?

Venues often have their own rules about outside caterers: where vehicles can park, access times and the paperwork they need. Send us your venue’s requirements and we’ll follow them.

If you run the same event each year, tell us your dates early, so we can check the date.

Comparing your options

Pizza is the usual crowd-pleaser, but a taco bar lets every guest design their own plate. Catering from a truck or trailer can be a practical alternative to a sit-down meal, as there’s no kitchen to hire. Contact us for a quote to compare.

What you get with us

  • Allergen information for everything we serve
  • Options for vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free and dairy-free guests
  • Service planned around your numbers
  • Catering across West Sussex, including Shopwyke

What taco bar hire costs

Each event is quoted on its own, based on a few main things:

  • Timings and hours
  • Guest numbers
  • Staff for serving and the bar
  • The menu you choose

There’s no one-size-fits-all price for taco bar hire. A short lunch service for a team is a different job from a full wedding day. Your quote sets it all out.

Getting an accurate quote

These details help us quote quickly:

  • Your date and when you want service to start
  • Roughly how many adults and children
  • Any dietary needs and allergies
  • A photo of the space, if it’s a garden or field

Every event is quoted individually, so the price fits what you actually want. To ask for one, send a quick message through our quote form.

FAQs for Shopwyke

Can the taco bar go in a local hall rather than outside?

We can, as long as the venue agrees. The station needs room for a queue, and we need to park and unload close to the door.

Do you come out to small places like Shopwyke?

Yes. Villages and hamlets are part of our area, and the main thing is access: tell us about the lane, the gate and the ground.

Who clears up?

We pack down and leave our area tidy. Let us know the venue’s rules on waste and we will talk it through.

How much does taco bar hire cost in Shopwyke?

The price depends on numbers, menu, service time and where your event is. Send us the details for a quote.

Can you keep it mild?

That’s your choice: we can keep it mild and put the hotter salsas on the side.

How big an event can you cater?

Our truck and trailer service generally suits events of around 50 to 400 guests. Smaller parties are quoted case by case, and festivals can be larger. Tell us your numbers.

Do you have gluten-free options?

Yes, with corn tortillas. Corn tortillas are naturally gluten-free, but some fillings, sauces and toppings may not be, so we plan gluten-free dishes carefully and give allergen information.

Do you bring plates and cutlery?

That’s confirmed with each quote. Let us know what the venue supplies and we’ll talk it through.

Should I do it myself?

You can set up your own drinks table, but someone still has to mix, pour and keep an eye on it all evening. See our margarita bar guide.

Plenty of people try a DIY taco night at home. The usual problems are cold tortillas, running out of a popular filling and a host stuck at the stove. If you’d rather enjoy the party, let us serve.
