Taco bar hire for South Street events
About our taco bar hire in South Street
The toppings are where guests get creative: lime wedges, coriander, pickled onions, cheese and crema, depending on the menu you choose. It works well for wedding day food and garden parties, with burrito bowls, warm corn and flour tortillas and fresh salsas.
London gardens are often reached only through the house, and many venues in South Street have no vehicle access to the room. The station can go where the truck cannot, as long as the venue agrees, and the route from our parking spot to the station needs to be clear. Everything is prepared fresh for your event and served from our truck or trailer, so guests get it at its best.

What taco bar hire costs
Pricing is straightforward once we know the basics:
- The number of people
- Travel, parking and access
- Timings and hours
- Adding food to drinks, or drinks to food
Access and travel can make a difference to the cost, so tell us about the venue when you ask for a quote. The full price is confirmed in your quote.
Details that help
You do not need every detail fixed to get a quote, but these help:
- How we drive in and where we can park
- Your menu ideas
- A picture of the space, if it’s a garden or field
- Diets and allergies you know about
We quote for each event separately, based on what you need. To ask for one, use our quote form.
Space, access and the venue
Many gardens, fields and venues can take a truck or trailer, but there are a few things to check:
- A flat spot for the taco-bar station
- Easy access from where we unload to the table
- Cover overhead if the bar is outdoors
In South Street, as everywhere in Greater London, the ULEZ applies and kerb space is limited. Where will the truck or trailer stop? A drive, a courtyard or a suspended bay can all work.
If you’re unsure, send a photo of the space and the way in, and we’ll say what we think.
Menu ideas
- Salsas and guacamole
- Corn and flour tortillas
- Pickled onions and toppings
- Tortilla chips
- Two to four fillings
- Vegan fillings
Catering for every guest
Nearly every event has some special diets. To plan for them:
- Confirm a loading spot close to the bar
- Choose at least one vegan filling
- Count children separately
- Plan the taco bar around speeches and timings
Dishes are labelled, with allergen information available at the table.
Nachos to share can keep guests going before the bar opens.
How it compares
Pizza is a safe choice, but a taco bar gives guests more say over what they eat. Extras, such as more dishes, extra drinks or a longer service, are quoted on request, so you can choose what you need.

The process
We arrive in good time before service, set up the truck or trailer and get everything ready. When service opens, guests come up to the hatch or serving table. From late May to late September, sunset in South Street moves from about 8:50pm to 7:05pm. If the taco bar is outdoors and runs later, tell us what lighting the venue has.
- Tell us about your event and your guests.
- We send a sample spread and a quote.
- Access, power and water are agreed beforehand.
- We set up the station and keep everything hot.
- Afterwards, we pack down and leave the area tidy.
How to prepare
- Check gates and access routes are wide and high enough
- Pick a flat, firm spot for us to park
- Give us your final numbers and diets
How to get a price
It is easy to get a price: tell us the date, place, numbers and any dietary needs. We will come back with a clear quote.

Working with your venue
For big numbers, we plan service to keep queues short, so guests are looked after quickly. Tell us how long you have for food and drinks.
Wedding planners and venue coordinators are welcome to contact us directly, and we’ll keep everyone informed on the day.
Should I do it myself?
Plenty of people try a DIY taco night at home. Common snags are cold tortillas, uneven quantities and the host missing the party. If you’d rather be with your guests, we will do the serving.
A DIY taco night is possible for a crowd, but it is more work than it looks. There are fillings to slow-cook, tortillas to keep warm and salsas to make. Read our guide to taco bars.
South Street questions
Do you cater in the Kent Downs National Landscape?
We do, where the venue allows a catering vehicle. Lanes can be narrow and ground soft, so tell us how we’d get in.
Is parking a problem for events in South Street?
That depends on the street. A drive, a courtyard or a bay suspended by the council can all work, so tell us what’s outside your venue. The ULEZ covers all of Greater London.
Do you give allergen information?
Yes, and it helps to hear about allergies when you book. Under UK rules, caterers must give information on 14 allergens, and we do that for every dish (Food Standards Agency guidance). Anyone with a severe allergy should speak to us before the event.
When should we book?
As early as you can, especially for summer weekends. Ask about your date even if it’s soon.
Do you provide drinks?
Yes, we offer a Mexican drinks bar, with margaritas, Mexican beer, aguas frescas and soft drinks. Your venue or event may need the right licence for alcohol, so we will check the licensing with you.
Is a taco bar right for a wedding?
It can serve the wedding meal, the evening or both. Timings are agreed with you and your venue, and guests build their own plates.
Can you do gluten-free food?
Yes, we offer gluten-free options, using corn tortillas. Tell us about any coeliac guests before the event so we can explain how we prepare their food. See are corn tortillas gluten-free?
Is the food made fresh?
Fillings are slow-cooked in advance, then finished and kept hot on site. Tortillas are warmed on site, and salsas and guacamole are made fresh.
