Taco bar hire for South Wimbledon events

How we price taco bar hire

Each event is quoted on its own, and the price depends on a few things:

  • Your choice of food and drinks
  • How long we’re needed on site
  • The number of people
  • Parking and the route in

Access, parking and the distance to your venue can affect the price, so it helps to tell us about your venue. The full price is confirmed in your quote.

What we need to know

The more we know about your event, the better we can plan. Please include:

  • The venue or postcode
  • Access for the truck or trailer, including gates and ground
  • Roughly how many adults and children
  • Vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, dairy-free and allergy numbers

We quote for each event separately, so the price fits what you actually want. For a quote, fill in our quote form.

About our taco bar hire in South Wimbledon

With a taco bar, everything is laid out in one place: tortillas kept warm, fillings kept hot, and bowls of salsa, guacamole and toppings. Guests pick up a plate and build their own. We serve guacamole, burrito bowls and slow-cooked fillings kept hot, and it’s a good fit for team lunches and engagement and anniversary parties.

In South Wimbledon, a hired hall, a courtyard or a garden without drive access can still host a taco bar. A taco bar station can be set up away from the truck, with the venue’s agreement, and the route from our parking spot to the station needs to be clear. We turn up ready to serve, and tidy our own area afterwards.

Questions to ask before booking

Questions from South Wimbledon

What about parking in South Wimbledon?

That depends on the street. A drive, a courtyard or a bay suspended by the council can all work, so tell us what’s outside your venue. The ULEZ covers all of Greater London.

Can you set up a taco bar where your truck cannot park in South Wimbledon?

Normally, if the venue agrees to a staffed station. We still need somewhere close by to unload, and in London that may mean a loading bay or a parking suspension.

Do you do parties at home?

It depends on access. A drive or a spot nearby may work, with permission, if the garden itself is out of reach. Tell us about the space and we’ll advise.

What about power on site?

It depends on the event and the set-up, and we agree power and water with you before the day. Let us know whether there is a supply near where we will park.

Do you do margaritas?

Yes, we offer a Mexican drinks bar, serving margaritas, Mexican beer, aguas frescas such as hibiscus and horchata, and soft drinks. Your venue or event may need the right licence for alcohol, so we will talk licensing through with you.

How much space do you need?

A level, firm spot for the truck or trailer, with access wide and high enough to drive in, and the venue’s agreement. Power and water arrangements are confirmed with each booking.

Do you take everything away?

We pack down and tidy our own area after service. For anything beyond that, such as guests’ tables, ask us.

What does taco bar hire cost?

The price depends on numbers, menu, service time and where your event is. Send us the details for a quote.

How it works

We arrive in good time before service, then set up and prepare everything. When service opens, guests come up to the hatch or serving table. Daylight in South Wimbledon runs to about 8:50pm in late May and 7:05pm in late September. Let us know if an outdoor station will run after dark, and we’ll talk about lighting.

  1. Get in touch with your date and headcount.
  2. We plan fillings and toppings around your guests’ diets.
  3. Nearer the date, we confirm timings and the serving spot.
  4. Service starts when your running order says.
  5. Once service is over, we pack away.

Planning help

DIY taco night versus a caterer

For a small group, a taco night at home can work well. For big numbers or lots of diets, a caterer makes life easier, and handles allergen information for you.

If you do it yourself, work out quantities first: our guide to how many tacos per person helps. Keep tortillas warm in a covered basket, and label dishes for guests with allergies.

About the menu

Warm tortillas

Tortillas are the base of the bar. We keep a steady supply going.

Vegan fillings

Black bean and sweet potato, or spiced mushrooms, cooked separately.

Dietary needs and planning tips

Mixed diets are straightforward to plan for, because guests can choose what suits them. Here are a few tips for planning:

  • Agree the serving spot with your venue early
  • Give us separate numbers for children
  • Confirm a loading spot close to the bar
  • Confirm any allergies to us by email

Dishes are labelled, with allergen information available at the table.

A wider range of salsas suits guests who like it mild and those who like it hot.

South Wimbledon: venues, access and set-up

South Wimbledon is about 1 mile south-east of Wimbledon, in Greater London. For taco bar hire in South Wimbledon, we plan around your venue and timings: a quote, a plan and friendly service on the day. South Wimbledon is one of 764 places in Greater London we cover. Our nearest city page is Croydon, about 6 miles away.

Around South Wimbledon, historic houses include Southside House (1.6 miles west) and Fulham Palace (3.6 miles north). Historic venues often limit where vehicles can go, so ask whether a taco bar station could be set up inside while our truck or trailer parks further off. Before you plan a taco bar in Wandle Park, find out who manages it, as catering and unloading there both need their agreement.

We cover events in every part of SW19, SW20 and SW17 and the streets around it. From Gap Road, Mina Road and York Road or a nearby road, we can bring taco bar hire there, given access. Planning the serving area

No two venues are the same, so we’ll ask about yours before we confirm. Generally, we look for:

  • Permission from the venue for us to set up
  • A flat spot for the taco-bar station
  • A short, clear path for carrying the bar in

In South Wimbledon, as everywhere in Greater London, the ULEZ applies and kerb space is limited. Where will the truck or trailer stop? A drive, a courtyard or a suspended bay can all work.

If in doubt, send us a picture of the spot and the access, and we’ll advise before you book.
