Taco bar hire in St Mary's Bay, from our truck or trailer

Our taco bar travels to events across St Mary's Bay and the surrounding area: from barns and marquees to gardens, halls and offices. It suits marquee parties and engagement parties, serving slow-cooked fillings kept hot, a build-your-own taco bar and guacamole.

Around St Mary's Bay, a taco bar can stand beside our truck on a drive or lawn. Where access is tight, the truck stays nearby and the station goes where your guests are, as long as we can unload within a short walk. We turn up ready to serve, and tidy our own area afterwards.

Can I do a taco night myself?

Running your own drinks table is one option, but someone still has to mix, pour and keep an eye on it all evening. Our margarita bar guide has tips.

For a small group, a taco night at home can work well. For big numbers or lots of diets, a caterer makes life easier, and handles allergen information for you.

Organising for someone else?

If you are planning an event on someone’s behalf, whether you are a planner, an office manager or an event organiser, we will work directly with you and the venue. It keeps things simple.

Wedding planners and venue coordinators are welcome to contact us directly, and we will keep you updated on timings and set-up.

What happens on the day

We work to your timings. If speeches run late or the photos take longer, tell us and we’ll adjust the start of service where we can. Winter evenings in St Mary's Bay close in by about 3:50pm, so an indoor spot or a well-lit station works best. In late June, the light holds until around 9:15pm.

  1. Begin with the date and headcount.
  2. We agree a menu that covers every diet.
  3. We fix timings with you and the venue.
  4. Service starts when your running order says.
  5. Once service is over, we pack away.

Preparing for the day

  • Confirm numbers and diets before the day
  • Tell us when you want service to start
  • Confirm the venue allows outside caterers

How to get a price

Planning help

Diets, allergies and planning

A Mexican menu is easy to plan for mixed diets, because guests can choose what suits them. Here are a few tips for planning:

  • Ensure guests have somewhere to sit
  • Tell us how many children are coming
  • Decide where the table goes before the day
  • Ask guests about diets and allergies on the RSVP

A covered spot keeps the bar and guests dry if it rains, so plan somewhere sheltered if you can.

Extra salsas, from mild to hot, let guests choose their own heat.

St Mary's Bay: your questions answered

Can you cater a reception after a service at All Saints?

Yes. The church itself isn’t where we’d set up, but a hall, field or garden close by with room for the truck or trailer can work well. Let us know the reception address and we will check the access.

Is it possible to have you in Romney Warren Country Park?

Only with permission from whoever runs the park, often the council. Ask them first, and we will help with the information they need from us.

Can we have a taco bar at our wedding?

The taco bar can be the wedding breakfast, the evening food or both. We agree the timings with your venue, and guests build their own plates.

Can you serve in the rain?

We can serve from the hatch in the rain. It is worth planning a covered area for guests, and tell us if heavy rain could make the ground soft.

Do you provide plates and napkins?

Please ask us. Let us know what you already have, and we’ll confirm what’s included with your quote.

Can you run a bar?

Yes, we do. The drinks bar can be added to food or booked on its own, with alcohol-free options such as aguas frescas. We will check the licensing for alcohol with you.

How much space do you need?

The main things are access and a level spot: a level spot to park, space for guests to queue and a little room for a serving table. If in doubt, send us a photo of the space and the way in.

How do you handle dietary needs at the taco bar?

There are gluten-free, dairy-free, vegetarian and vegan choices, and corn tortillas suit gluten-free guests. Allergen information is available for every dish.

Taco bar hire or something else?

Pizza is a safe choice, but a taco bar gives guests more say over what they eat. When you compare quotes, check what each one includes: service time, staff, plates and napkins, travel and VAT. Contact us for a quote and we will set out what’s included.
