Taco bar hire for your event in Stone Hill

We bring taco bars to events in and around Stone Hill: from barns and marquees to gardens, halls and offices, wherever there is room for the table. It suits evening receptions and wedding day food, serving slow-cooked fillings kept hot, pickled onions and toppings and burrito bowls.

Somewhere as small as Stone Hill, a garden, barn or hall can host a taco bar. If lanes or soft ground stop the truck getting close, the station can be set up nearer your guests, though we still need to unload within a short walk. Your quote sets out what’s included: menu, timings and any add-ons.

Where the truck can go in Stone Hill

Many gardens, fields and venues can take a truck or trailer, but there are a few things to check:

  • Space for a serving table on level ground
  • A clear area in front of the station
  • Space beside the truck or trailer if you are booking both

If you’re unsure, send a picture of the space and the way in, and we’ll say what we think before you book.

Popular choices

  • Pickled onions and toppings
  • Two to four fillings
  • Corn and flour tortillas
  • Salsas and guacamole
  • Vegan fillings
  • Tortilla chips

DIY taco night versus a caterer

Some hosts like to do it themselves. The usual problems are cold tortillas, running out of a popular filling and a host stuck at the stove. If you’d rather enjoy the party, let us serve.

If you do it yourself, work out quantities first: our guide to how many tacos per person helps. Keep tortillas warm in a covered basket, and label dishes for guests with allergies.

Perfect for your event in Stone Hill

A taco bar feeds a crowd steadily, which suits a wedding breakfast or a lunch break.

A truck or trailer works for big and small events alike. Common bookings include:

  • Anniversary parties
  • Company parties
  • Evening wedding receptions
  • Garden parties

Close to Stone Hill are historic houses such as Westenhanger Castle (2.2 miles south-east). Historic venues often limit where vehicles can go, so ask whether a taco bar station could be set up inside while our truck or trailer parks further off.

Choosing a Mexican caterer

What taco bar hire costs

We quote for your event, and the price is based on:

  • Whether you need disposables
  • Travel, parking and access
  • Adding food to drinks, or drinks to food
  • The menu you choose

Extra dishes, drinks and longer service are priced on request, so you choose what goes in.

Details that help

For a quote, it helps to have:

  • Vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, dairy-free and allergy numbers
  • The venue or postcode
  • Whether you’d like food, drinks or both
  • Gate widths, slopes and the ground

We need only a few details to quote: date, location, guest numbers and diets. To send them, fill in our quote form.

What you get with us

  • A truck or trailer that comes to you
  • Options for vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free and dairy-free guests

How the day works

It is a relaxed, well-organised set-up. We agree arrival and serving times in advance, get the serving area ready, and get on with serving. Evenings in Stone Hill stay light until about 9:15pm in June, but by late September sunset is around 7:00pm. After dusk, lights over the station help guests build their tacos.

  1. Send us your date, where the taco bar will go, numbers and dietary needs.
  2. You get a suggested taco-bar spread and a quote.
  3. We agree where the table goes and where our vehicle can unload.
  4. We set out warm tortillas, hot fillings, salsas and toppings, and guests help themselves.
  5. After the last tacos, we clear the station away.

Before we arrive

  • Have a marquee or gazebo ready in case of rain
  • Tell us about narrow gates or low branches
  • Pick a flat, firm spot for us to park

How to get a price

We quote for each event separately, based on what you need. To ask for one, use our quote form.

Stone Hill: your questions answered

Which station is closest to Stone Hill?

Westenhanger station, about 2.4 miles south-east of the centre.

Can you serve near the sea around Stone Hill?

Yes, as long as the site allows it and the ground is firm. Seafront and beach spots normally need permission, and wind is the main thing to plan for.

Do you provide plates and napkins?

Please ask us. Let us know what you already have, and we will set out plates, napkins and cutlery in your quote.

Can you run a bar?

Yes, we offer a Mexican drinks bar, with margaritas, Mexican beer, aguas frescas and soft drinks. Alcohol at an event may need a licence, such as a premises licence or a Temporary Event Notice, so we’ll talk licensing through with you.

What do you serve?

We agree a sample menu with each client. Fillings might include slow-cooked pork carnitas, chicken tinga, beef birria and vegan options such as spiced mushrooms or black beans. See our menu for ideas.

What do you need at the venue?

Access and level ground matter most: a firm spot for the truck or trailer, room for a queue and, for a taco bar, space for a serving table. Send us a photo and tell us about gates, slopes and soft ground.

How spicy is the food?

That is your choice: we can keep the main dishes mild, with hotter salsas served separately. Read more about how spicy Mexican food is.

Do you cook on site?

We slow-cook fillings ahead, then finish them and keep them hot at your event. Tortillas are warmed on site, and salsas and guacamole are made fresh.

The menu, item by item

Vegan fillings

A vegan filling sits on the bar with the rest, not an afterthought.

Planning a taco bar in Stone Hill

Stone Hill is about 5 miles north-west of Hythe, in Kent. From the centre of Stone Hill to the outskirts, taco bar hire works the same way: a truck or trailer at your event, options for every diet and a clear price. Stone Hill is one of 922 towns and villages in Kent where we can bring taco bar hire. Our nearest city page is Canterbury, about 12 miles away.

If you are celebrating after a service at a church like Church of St Mary, a hall close by could host a staffed taco bar, with the venue’s permission. Guests arriving without a car will want to know that the nearest station is Westenhanger station, about 2.4 miles south-east. With the Kent Downs National Landscape about 6 miles away at most, a countryside taco bar is an option from Stone Hill. Rural venues may limit vehicles, so ask where we can park and unload. With the sea within about 6 miles, a taco bar at a coastal venue is an option. Open toppings and a sea breeze don’t mix, so a sheltered or indoor spot is best.

Anywhere in TN25, we can bring the truck or trailer to your guests. From Stone Hill, Southenay Lane and Cooper's Lane or a nearby road, we’ll plan where to park and serve. Other places close to Stone Hill for taco bar hire include Lilyvale (1 mile north-west), Brabourne Lees (1 mile north-west), Smeeth (1 mile north-west), Ridgeway (1 mile north-west) and Bircholt Forstal (2 miles north). We also cater in nearby towns such as Ashford (6 miles west), Canterbury (12 miles north), Dover (14 miles east), Folkestone (8 miles east), Faversham (15 miles north) and Hythe (5 miles south-east).

Other landmarks nearby include Lympne Castle (3.1 miles south-east) and William Harvey Hospital (3.8 miles north-west). The countryside around Stone Hill includes Hatch Park and Tolsford Hill.
