How our taco bar hire works in Whaddon

Truck and trailer bookings typically suit around 50 to 400 guests, while smaller parties are quoted case by case. Tell us your numbers and we will plan the taco bar around them. We serve pickled onions and toppings, guacamole and warm corn and flour tortillas, which works well for wedding evening food and anniversary parties.

In a hamlet or village like Whaddon, a barn or marquee can shelter a taco bar from the weather. Our staff set up the station and run it through service; tell us about access and parking. We serve from the hatch of our food truck or trailer, or from a serving station, and we plan service so the queue keeps moving.

Can I do a taco night myself?

Weighing up a DIY taco night against a caterer? Consider your numbers, your guests’ diets and your own time. Ask us for a quote and compare.

For a small group, a taco night at home can work well. For big numbers or lots of diets, a caterer makes life easier, and handles allergen information for you.

Before you choose a spot

No two venues are the same, so we will ask about yours before we confirm. In general, we need:

  • Power and water, which we confirm when you book
  • Somewhere close by for our vehicle to park and unload
  • A level area for the taco-bar table

If in doubt, send us a picture of the spot and the access, and we will advise.

Popular choices

  • Two to four fillings
  • Vegan fillings
  • Pickled onions and toppings
  • Corn and flour tortillas
  • Tortilla chips
  • Salsas and guacamole

Catering for every guest

A little planning makes sure everyone can eat. Try these:

  • Ask guests about diets and allergies on the RSVP
  • Give us separate numbers for children
  • Tell us about coeliac guests specifically
  • Have tables and seats ready for guests to eat at

Fillings are kept hot and tortillas warmed in batches.

Add burrito bowls for guests who’d rather skip tortillas.

Common questions in Whaddon

Can you cater a reception after a service at Church of St Mary?

Yes, at a nearby garden, marquee or hall with access for the truck or trailer. Service would be at the reception venue, not the church. Tell us where the reception will be.

Which station is closest to Whaddon?

Guests can use Milton Keynes Central station, about 3.3 miles north-east of Whaddon.

What does taco bar hire cost?

Every event is quoted individually, based on what you actually need. Tell us your date and numbers for a clear quote.

Where do you cater?

London and the South East: Greater London, Kent and Medway, Surrey, East Sussex, West Sussex, Hampshire, the Isle of Wight, Berkshire, Buckinghamshire and Oxfordshire, including Whaddon.

Do you cater for vegetarian guests?

Yes, and we plan them in from the start. Let us know how many vegetarian and vegan guests to expect, and we’ll keep their options separate.

When should we book?

Early, particularly for summer Saturdays. Even if it is short notice, it’s worth asking.

What if the weather’s bad?

Rain doesn’t usually stop service from the truck or trailer. It’s worth planning a covered area for guests, and let us know if the ground gets soft after heavy rain.

Can you run a bar?

Yes. Our drinks bar can be booked on its own or with food. We will check the licensing for alcohol with you.

How the day works

We arrive in good time before service, then set up and prepare everything. Guests come up to order when service opens. In Whaddon, the sun sets at about 9:25pm in late June and about 7:05pm in late September, so an outdoor taco bar in summer is usually served in daylight. In December it’s dark by about 3:55pm, so guests will need light to see the fillings and toppings.

  1. Send us the date, venue and numbers.
  2. Together we choose what goes on the bar.
  3. We confirm the table spot and where we will unload.
  4. Our staff set out the bar and guests build their own tacos.
  5. We clear the bar away after service.

Before we arrive

  • Check the venue is happy to have a truck or trailer on site
  • Plan a covered area for guests if rain is likely
  • Choose a level, firm spot for the truck or trailer
