How our taco bar hire works in Winchelsea Beach

A taco bar suits mixed diets well, because every filling and topping sits in its own dish. We plan gluten-free, dairy-free, vegetarian and vegan choices, and corn tortillas suit gluten-free guests. For engagement and anniversary parties and back-garden gatherings, we can serve fresh salsas, a build-your-own taco bar and slow-cooked fillings kept hot for your guests.

Somewhere as small as Winchelsea Beach, a garden, barn or hall can host a taco bar. If the truck can’t get close, we can set the station up nearer your guests, though we still need to unload within a short walk. Access, space and power are agreed with you beforehand, so there are no surprises on arrival.

Diets, allergies and planning

Dietary needs are easy to plan for with a little notice. Our advice:

  • Tell us about coeliac guests specifically
  • Plan the taco bar around speeches and timings
  • Ask the venue where we can park to unload
  • Tell us how many children are coming

If the schedule slips, tell us and we’ll hold everything hot until you’re ready.

Ask us whether a second station would help with big numbers.

Planners, venues and businesses

If you’re booking for a business, tell us what your finance team needs, and we will explain how it works. We can work with your facilities team on access and timings.

Wedding planners and venue coordinators are welcome to contact us directly, and we will keep you updated on timings and set-up.

Planning a taco bar in Winchelsea Beach

Winchelsea Beach is about 8 miles north-east of Hastings, in East Sussex. Events in Winchelsea Beach are planned around your venue and timings: a clear quote, agreed timings and fresh service on the day. We cater in 289 places in East Sussex, from the larger towns to small villages, wherever the truck or trailer can get in. Our truck and trailer cover the area from Winchelsea Beach to Royal Tunbridge Wells (about 25 miles away).

Historic houses near Winchelsea Beach include Lamb House (2.4 miles north). If your event is at a historic house or estate, ask early whether a staffed taco bar is allowed and where we could unload. When the service is at a church such as St Richard, the taco bar would be set up at the reception venue rather than the church. Winchelsea Beach is within about 3 miles of the sea, so for a seaside taco bar we plan around the wind. A sheltered spot for the station helps, and seafront sites normally need permission.

This part of East Sussex takes in TN36, so your event can be anywhere in it. Your event could be at a home on Old Harbour Farm Lane, Willow Lane and Smeatons Lane. Close by, we cover events in Winchelsea (1 mile north-west), Rye Harbour (2 miles north-east), Rye (2 miles north), Camber (3 miles north-east) and Playden (3 miles north). Larger places within reach include Hastings (8 miles south-west), Bexhill-on-Sea (12 miles south-west), St Leonards (9 miles south-west), Hastings Old Town (7 miles south-west), Belmont (7 miles south-west) and Hollington (8 miles west).

Your questions about taco bar hire in Winchelsea Beach

How far is Winchelsea Beach from London?

It is about 54 miles from central London, and inside the area we cover.

Do you cater in villages like Winchelsea Beach?

Yes, we cater in villages and hamlets as well as towns. Tell us about lanes, gates, ground and parking.

Do you cover Winchelsea Beach?

Yes. We cover London and the South East, and Winchelsea Beach is within our area and the rest of East Sussex. To check your date, send a quick message through our quote form.

Do you give allergen information?

Yes, and it helps to hear about allergies when you book. UK law requires caterers to provide information on 14 allergens, and we do that for every dish (Food Standards Agency guidance). For severe allergies, please talk to us first.

Can you come to a private house?

It depends on access. A drive or a spot nearby may work, with permission, if the garden itself is out of reach. Tell us about the space and we will advise.

Which areas do you serve?

We cater across London and the South East, East Sussex included. Find your area.

How much does taco bar hire cost?

There is no price list, because no two events are the same. Send us your details and we will quote for your event. Our guide to Mexican catering costs may help.

How many guests can you serve?

It depends on the menu and how long service runs, but our truck and trailer service generally suits around 50 to 400 guests. Tell us your numbers and we will advise.

DIY taco night versus a caterer

For a small group, a taco night at home can work well. For larger numbers, mixed diets or a wedding, a caterer takes the pressure off, with allergen information for every dish.

Some hosts like to do it themselves. The usual problems are cold tortillas, running out of a popular filling and a host stuck at the stove. If you’d rather be with your guests, we will do the serving.

What happens on the day

We arrive in good time before service, then set up and prepare everything. When service opens, guests come up to the hatch or serving table. A December taco bar in Winchelsea Beach will be in the dark from about 3:55pm, so an indoor spot or a well-lit station works best. At midsummer, by contrast, daylight lasts until about 9:15pm.

  1. Send us the date, venue and numbers.
  2. We plan the fillings, salsas and toppings with you.
  3. We confirm the table spot and where we’ll unload.
  4. On the day, guests help themselves while we keep the bar stocked.
  5. We clear the bar away after service.

Before we arrive

  • Get the venue’s permission for us to park and serve
  • Give us your final numbers and diets
  • Measure any gates or arches on the way in

What affects the price in Winchelsea Beach

Two events with the same number of guests can cost different amounts, depending on:

  • Guest numbers
