Questions to ask before booking

How our wedding Mexican catering works in Old Town

We plan the wedding menu with you, with fillings such as slow-cooked pork carnitas, chicken tinga or beef birria, plus vegan options like spiced mushrooms or black beans. Popular choices include a taco bar for the wedding breakfast, evening tacos and tacos, which works well for vow renewals and blessings and farm and barn venues.

For a smaller place like Old Town, a garden or farm wedding can be ideal. We’ll need level, firm ground and a way to reach it, plus power and water arrangements agreed beforehand. We prepare everything fresh for your wedding and serve it straight from our truck or trailer, so guests get it at its best.

Old Town questions

Could you serve our guests after a service at Church of St Mary?

Yes, at a garden, field or venue nearby where the truck or trailer can park. Service would be at the reception venue, not the church. Tell us where the reception will be.

Do you come to events in the South Downs National Park?

Yes. Some venues there have rules about vehicles, ground and catering, so check with yours. Tell us about narrow lanes and soft ground.

What if the weather’s bad?

The truck or trailer can serve in the rain, but guests need somewhere covered to eat and drink, like a marquee or gazebo.

Can you do gluten-free food?

Yes, with corn tortillas. Corn tortillas are naturally gluten-free, but some fillings, sauces and toppings may not be, so we check every dish and give allergen information.

How soon do we need to book?

Early, particularly for summer Saturdays. Ask about your date even if it is soon.

Do you do a wedding bar?

Our drinks bar can be added. We will check the licensing with you and your venue.

How big an event can you cater?

That depends on the menu and the service time, but around 50 to 400 guests is the usual range. Tell us your numbers and we will advise.

Do you come to Old Town?

Yes, we do. Old Town is one of the places we cover. Tell us your date and we will check availability.

Step by step

We need a level, firm spot we can drive the truck or trailer onto, and we agree power and water arrangements before the day. Send us a photo of the space if you are unsure. In Old Town, midsummer sunset is about 9:15pm, and by late September it’s nearer 7:00pm, so evening tacos are generally served in daylight in high summer. For autumn and winter weddings, when it’s dark by about 3:55pm in December, plan lighting around the truck or trailer.

  1. Tell us your date, venue and numbers.
  2. We plan the wedding breakfast, evening food or both with you.
  3. We agree timings and access with the venue.
  4. On the day, we set up and serve on cue.
  5. We pack down and leave our area tidy.

Getting ready for the day

  • Check the venue is happy to have a truck or trailer on site
  • Tell us what power and water the site has
  • Give us a contact for the day

Evening tacos keep everyone going.

Taco bar wedding breakfast

The taco bar is the main event, with every diet covered. You choose the fillings with us.

Working with your venue

Events in public spaces, like parks, usually need permission. We can send what the landowner or council needs from us.

Many venues have rules for outside caterers: vehicle access, arrival times and documents. Send us your venue’s requirements and we’ll follow them.

Should I do it myself?

For a small group, a taco night at home can work well. For larger numbers, mixed diets or a wedding, a caterer takes the pressure off, with allergen information for every dish.

Some hosts like to do it themselves. Common snags are cold tortillas, uneven quantities and the host missing the party. If you’d rather be with your guests, we’ll do the serving.

How it compares

A plated wedding breakfast needs a kitchen and a larger team. Our truck or trailer brings its own kitchen, and the style is more relaxed. The cost per head can fall as numbers rise, because the set-up is similar for different sizes of event. Give us your numbers and we’ll quote.

Why book with us

  • Food and drinks from one caterer, if you want both
  • We cover Old Town and the whole of East Sussex
  • Allergen information for everything we serve
  • A quote that sets out what’s included

Prices and what affects them

Pricing is straightforward once we know the basics:

  • The number of people
  • Timings and hours
  • Whether you need disposables
  • Adding food to drinks, or drinks to food

There’s no one-size-fits-all price for wedding Mexican catering. A short lunch service for a team is a different job from a full wedding day. Your quote sets it all out.

Details that help

When you get in touch, it helps to tell us:

  • Any dietary needs and allergies
  • The venue or postcode
  • What power and water the site has
  • Your menu ideas

Most quotes start with a few simple details: date, location, guest numbers and diets. To send them, fill in our quote form.

Planning a taco wedding in Old Town

Old Town is about 1 mile south-west of Eastbourne, in East Sussex. Tell us where your wedding in Old Town will be, and we’ll plan access and set-up. We cover 289 places across East Sussex, from the larger towns to small villages, wherever the truck or trailer can get in. Our truck and trailer cover the area from Old Town to Brighton (18 miles away).

For outdoor photos, Combe Hill is close by. Say your vows at a church like Church of St Mary, then head to a garden, barn or marquee where the truck or trailer is waiting. We can set up while the photos are taken. A rural reception could be within reach, as the South Downs National Park is no more than about 6 miles from Old Town. Firm ground and a clear way in matter more than the view for a food truck. Couples near the coast, within about 2 miles of Old Town, sometimes want a beach feel. We need firm ground for the truck or trailer, so a clifftop lawn or venue car park may suit better than the sand.

For wedding Mexican catering in BN21, BN20 and BN22, we plan around your venue and the route in. Local streets include Love Lane, Mill Road and Greys Road; for a wedding at home on any of them, tell us where the truck or trailer can park. Neighbouring places where we cater weddings include Upperton (1 mile east), Meads (1 mile south), Eastbourne (1 mile north-east), Holywell (1 mile south) and Ratton Village (1 mile north). Larger places within reach include Hastings (15 miles north-east), Bexhill-on-Sea (10 miles north-east), Seaford (7 miles west), Lewes (13 miles north-west), Hailsham (6 miles north) and St Leonards (14 miles north-east).

Well-known places in the area include Eastbourne District General Hospital (1 mile north) and Pevensey Castle (4.4 miles north-east). The countryside around Old Town includes Combe Hill.
