Questions to ask before you book

How our food truck hire works in Cambridge Heath

Our drinks bar can be hired with the truck with margaritas, Mexican beer and aguas frescas. We can add a taco-bar station next to the truck. At back-garden parties and staff summer parties, we can serve fresh salsas and guacamole, loaded nachos and quesadillas and more.

Around Cambridge Heath, a hired truck or trailer needs a yard, forecourt or drive it can reach. We need a level spot and room for a queue at the hatch, plus your venue’s agreement. We turn up ready to serve, and tidy our own area afterwards.

FAQs for Cambridge Heath

What about parking in Cambridge Heath?

That depends on the street. A drive, a courtyard or a bay suspended by the council can all work, so tell us what’s outside your venue. The ULEZ covers all of Greater London.

Could you serve our guests after a service at St James-the-Less?

Yes. The church itself isn’t where we’d set up, but a hall, field or garden close by with room for the truck or trailer can work well. Let us know the reception address and we will check the access.

Can you run a bar?

Yes. Our drinks bar can be booked on its own or with food. We will check the licensing for alcohol with you.

How far ahead should we book?

The sooner the better. Peak dates go quickly, so it pays to ask early.

Do you cater for coeliacs?

Yes, with corn tortillas. Corn tortillas are naturally gluten-free, but some fillings, sauces and toppings may not be, so we check every dish and give allergen information.

How many guests can the truck serve?

It depends on the event and how long service runs. As a guide, it is around 50 to 400 guests.

Do you give allergen information?

Yes, and it helps to hear about allergies when you book. Under UK rules, caterers must give information on 14 allergens, and we do that for every dish (Food Standards Agency guidance). For severe allergies, please talk to us first.

Can you cater in a back garden?

It depends on access. A drive or a spot nearby may work, with permission, if the garden itself is out of reach. Tell us about the space and we will advise.

Comparing your options

Hiring a food truck is different from finding one at a festival. At public events, anyone can buy; a private hire means your guests, your menu and your timings. If you have a budget in mind, tell us, and we will suggest a menu that fits. Even a simple menu can feel generous.

What you get with us

  • Access, space and power checked in advance
  • Menus for vegan, vegetarian, dairy-free and gluten-free guests
  • Service planned around your numbers
  • Food and drinks from one caterer, if you want both

Read our prices page or our guide to catering costs.

Should I do it myself?

You can set up your own drinks table, but someone has to serve all evening. See our margarita bar guide.

If you do it yourself, work out quantities first: our guide to how many tacos per person helps. Keep warmed tortillas covered, and label dishes for guests with allergies.

What happens on the day

We need a level, firm spot we can drive the truck or trailer onto, with power and water arrangements agreed beforehand. Send us a picture of the space if you’re unsure. By late September, it’s dark in Cambridge Heath at around 7:05pm, so evening service from the truck may run past dusk. A late-May event keeps its light until roughly 8:50pm.

  1. Ask us whether your date is available.
  2. We agree a hatch menu and send a quote.
  3. The spot and the way in are agreed in advance.
  4. We drive in, open the hatch and serve your guests.
  5. After service, we close up and leave the spot clear.

Before we arrive

  • Choose a level, firm spot for the truck or trailer
  • Tell us what power and water the site has
  • Send us final numbers and dietary needs in good time
