About our food truck hire in Hillyfields
Fillings might include carnitas, al pastor-style pork or chicken tinga, alongside a vegan option such as spiced mushroom. There are options for gluten-free, dairy-free, vegetarian and vegan guests. On the menu are tacos from the hatch, burritos and fresh salsas and guacamole, and it suits wedding evening food and private outdoor parties.

How we price food truck hire
These are the factors that matter most:
- Plates, napkins and cutlery
- The number of people
- Parking and the route in
- Serving staff
Extras, such as more dishes, extra drinks or a longer service, are quoted on request, so you can choose what you need.
What we need to know
For a quote, it helps to have:
- Roughly how many adults and children
- Whether you’d like food, drinks or both
- Gate widths, slopes and the ground
- The venue or postcode
Send us the date, your venue or SO16 postcode and guest numbers, plus any dietary needs, and we’ll reply with a menu suggestion and a quote. To get started, send a quick message through our quote form.
Space, access and the venue
We’ll be honest if a space won’t work. What matters most:
- Space in front of the hatch for guests to queue
- Power and water, confirmed with each booking
- A way in wide and high enough for the vehicle
If in doubt, send us a picture of the spot and the access, and we’ll advise before you book.

Dietary needs and planning tips
Every guest is catered for, gluten-free, dairy-free, vegetarian and vegan included. To get it right:
- Tell us about coeliac guests
- Tell us how many children are coming
- Guests with serious allergies should contact us first
- Agree service times with us
Guests come to the hatch, order and wait a short moment for hot food.
Quesadillas make an easy option for children, if you’d like a kids’ choice.
Questions from Hillyfields
Which station is closest to Hillyfields?
The closest is Redbridge station, roughly 1.1 miles away.
Could you come to a seaside event near Hillyfields?
We can, given firm ground and the landowner’s permission. Beaches and promenades normally need the council’s agreement, so check that first.
How does private food truck hire work?
Our truck or trailer comes to your venue and serves your guests from the hatch. It’s a private booking for your guests only.
How long do you serve for?
We arrive in good time to set up before service. Serving times are agreed with you in advance, along with pack-down.
Where can the truck park?
Level, firm ground or hardstanding, access wide and high enough to drive in, and the venue’s permission. Power and water are confirmed with each booking.
Is the food very hot?
It is up to you: we can keep the main dishes mild, with hotter salsas served separately. Read more about how spicy Mexican food is.
Do you sell to the public at private events?
A private hire is booked and quoted for you, and we don’t sell to the public. Organisers wanting us to trade at their event can see our festival page.
What’s on the menu?
Mexican street food and drinks: tacos, taco bars, burritos, bowls, nachos and quesadillas, with salsas, guacamole and toppings. A drinks bar is available too.
DIY taco night versus a caterer
You can host your own taco night for a crowd, but it takes planning. Fillings need slow cooking, tortillas need warming as you go, and salsas need making. Read our guide to taco bars.
DIY catering keeps costs down, but the host spends the party serving. With a caterer, you get the food and drinks without the work.
Comparing your options
For food that becomes part of the event, a private food truck is a strong option. When you compare quotes, check what each one includes: service time, staff, plates and napkins, travel and VAT. Contact us for a quote and we will set out what’s included.
Why us?
- Service planned around your numbers
- A menu built around your guests
- Allergen information for every dish
- Every guest catered for, vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free and dairy-free included

When service finishes, we pack down and clear our own area. We agree set-up and pack-down times with you and your venue. Evening events in Hillyfields stay light until about 9:25pm at midsummer. After that, festoon lights or lamps near the truck help guests order.
- Ask us whether your date is available.
