About our food truck hire in Meads
A hired food truck works for weddings, birthdays and staff days, and any gathering where guests want hot food without a sit-down meal. It works well for engagement parties and launch events, serving burritos, burrito bowls and loaded nachos.
For a place the size of Meads, food truck hire at your own home is often simplest: no venue to book, and guests order straight from the hatch. Let us know about the route to the house. Access, space and power are agreed with you beforehand, so there are no surprises on arrival.

How it works
Once service is over, we pack up and leave our area tidy. We agree set-up and pack-down times with you and your venue. A hired food truck at a summer event in Meads can serve in daylight until about 9:15pm at midsummer, and by late September sunset is about 7:00pm. For winter events, dark by about 3:55pm, plan lighting where guests queue at the hatch.
- Tell us the date, the location, rough numbers and any diets.
- We check availability and send a menu and a quote for hiring the truck or trailer.
- Where the truck or trailer will stand, the route in, and power and water are all agreed in advance.
- Your guests order at the hatch and we serve hot food at the agreed times.
- When service ends, we pack up and leave the spot clear.
Getting ready for the day
- Give us a contact for the day
- Get the venue’s permission for us to park and serve
- Have level hardstanding or firm ground ready
How to get a price
Most quotes start with a few simple details: the date, where the event is, how many guests and any dietary needs. To send them, tell us about it on our contact page.

Meads: your questions answered
How far is Meads from London?
It’s about 54 miles from central London, and inside the area we cover.
We’re having a ceremony at St John the Evangelist: can you cater afterwards?
Yes. The church itself is not where we’d set up, but a hall, field or garden close by with room for the truck or trailer can work well. Let us know the reception address and we’ll check the access.
What do you need at the venue?
Level, firm ground or hardstanding for the truck or trailer, and a route in it can fit through, plus the venue’s permission. Power and water arrangements are confirmed with each booking.
How is private hire different from festival trading?
Private hire means we serve only your guests, on a menu and timings agreed with you. At festivals and markets we trade to the public.
What about power on site?
Tell us what the site has, for example a supply from the venue, and we will confirm the arrangements with your quote.
What space does the truck need?
Tell us where you’d like the truck, and we will check it works. Our guide to space and power has more.
How spicy is the food?
That is your choice: we can keep the main dishes mild, with hotter salsas served separately.
Do you have vegan options?
Yes. We can include vegetarian and vegan fillings like black beans or spiced mushrooms.
For event organisers in Meads
Hosting a party at home? Send a photo of the space and tell us about access, and we will tell you honestly whether a truck or trailer will fit.
For repeat events, such as annual staff parties or seasonal fairs, let us know your dates early, so we can plan ahead.
Who books food truck hire in Meads?
It’s a private hire, so the queue is your guests only and the menu suits them.
If you are planning any of these, we can help:
- Leaving parties
- Wedding evening food
- Family celebrations
- Company away days
A food truck in Gildrege Park would need the park owner’s agreement, so check that first.
What your quote should include
- Whether plates, napkins and cutlery are included
- The wet-weather plan
- What the caterer needs from your venue
- How many staff are serving, and for how long
Food truck hire or something else?
Booking several street food trucks means juggling several suppliers. One truck with tacos, burritos and nachos is one booking to manage. What’s on the menu makes a difference to the total, so tell us what you have in mind. We’ll suggest options to suit your budget.
What you get with us
- Everything served fresh from the hatch
- Set-up planned with you and your venue
- A menu built around your guests
- Menus for gluten-free, dairy-free, vegetarian and vegan guests

Can I do a taco night myself?
If you do it yourself, work out quantities first: see how many tacos per person. Keep warmed tortillas covered, and label anything containing allergens.
For a small group, a taco night at home can work well. For larger numbers, mixed diets or a wedding, a caterer takes the pressure off, with allergen information for every dish.
