About our food truck hire in Small Dole

The truck or trailer is a working kitchen on wheels, so there is no need for kitchen space at the venue. We need a level spot, safe access and the venue’s permission. It works well for family celebrations and company away days, serving fresh salsas and guacamole, burritos and tacos from the hatch.

For a rural spot like Small Dole, food truck hire needs a little planning: gate widths, soft ground and the route from the road all matter. We confirm power and water arrangements with you. We prepare everything fresh for your event and serve it straight from our food truck or trailer.

Small Dole is one of 371 towns and villages in West Sussex we cover. We cater right across the region, from Small Dole to Brighton (8 miles away).

Hoping to hire a food truck for a gathering in Tottington Wood? A catering vehicle in a public park typically needs the landowner’s permission. Some venues in protected landscapes have rules on vehicles, so check with yours. The coast is within about 6 miles of Small Dole, so a hired food truck at a seaside venue is an option. • Parking arrangements if we are not on private land
  • Space in front of the hatch for guests to queue
  • Power and water details confirmed in advance

If you are unsure, send a photo of the space and the way in, and we’ll say what we think.

Small Dole: your questions answered

Is it possible to have you in Tottington Wood?

It depends on the park’s owner, who would need to agree to a catering vehicle on site. Ask them first; if they say yes, we will send what they need from us.

Is Small Dole close to London?

It is about 42 miles from central London, and inside the area we cover.

Is there a minimum number of guests?

Truck and trailer service usually suits around 50 to 400 guests. Festivals can be bigger, and smaller parties are quoted case by case. Send us your numbers and we will advise.

Can you serve in the rain?

Rain doesn’t generally stop service from the truck or trailer. Plan cover for guests, such as a marquee or gazebo, and tell us if heavy rain could make the ground soft.

Can we have a build-your-own taco bar?

Yes, a taco bar is one of our options. Tell us about your space and numbers and we will recommend how to serve.

Can you cater for special diets?

We plan vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free and dairy-free options, and corn tortillas suit gluten-free guests. Allergen information is available for every dish.

Is food truck hire good for weddings?

The truck or trailer can serve the wedding breakfast, evening food or both. We fit service around your running order. Read more in having a food truck at a wedding.

Do you take everything away?

We pack down and leave our area tidy. Tell us the venue’s rules on waste and clearing up and we will confirm the arrangements with your quote.

DIY taco night or a caterer?

If you do it yourself, work out quantities first: our guide to how many tacos per person helps. Keep warmed tortillas covered, and label anything containing allergens.

A DIY taco night is possible for a crowd, but it’s more work than it looks. Fillings need slow cooking, tortillas need warming as you go, and salsas need making. Our taco bar guide explains how.

What food truck hire costs

We’ll give you a clear quote. What affects it most:

  • Adding food to drinks, or drinks to food
  • How long we’re needed on site
  • Whether you need disposables
  • Travel, parking and access

Catering from a truck or trailer can be a practical alternative to a sit-down meal, as there’s no kitchen to hire. Contact us for a quote to compare.

Details that help

These details help us quote quickly:

  • Gate widths, slopes and the ground
  • Whether you’d like food, drinks or both
  • The date and rough timings
  • A picture of the space, if it is a garden or field

Every quote is put together for your event. Give us your date and numbers, and we will check availability at the same time.

Organising for someone else?

Events in public spaces, like parks, generally need permission. We can send what the landowner or council needs from us.

Wedding planners and venue coordinators are welcome to contact us directly, and we’ll keep you updated on timings and set-up.

Tacos from the hatch

A taco is ideal food from a truck.

Salsas and guacamole

Guacamole and a choice of salsas, freshly made.

Step by step

We need a level, firm spot we can drive the truck or trailer onto, with power and water arrangements agreed beforehand. A picture of the space helps. At midsummer, it stays light in Small Dole until about 9:20pm, and by late September sunset is about 7:05pm. In December it’s dark by about 3:55pm, so the queue by the hatch needs lighting.

  1. Ask us whether your date is available.
  2. You get a menu for the hatch and a quote.
  3. We confirm the parking spot and the route in.
  4. On the day, guests order at the hatch and we cook to order.
  5. After service, we close up and leave the spot clear.

  • Tell us how many children are coming
