Food truck hire for your event in Southend
Truck and trailer service typically suits around 50 to 400 guests. Smaller parties are quoted case by case, so tell us how many you expect. It works well for anniversary celebrations and family celebrations, serving fresh salsas and guacamole, burritos and burrito bowls.
Near Southend, a hired food truck in a field or garden suits private parties and work away days alike. Guests queue at the hatch, so have some cover ready in case of rain. Your quote sets out what’s included: the menu, the service time and any extras you choose.
Can I do a taco night myself?
A DIY taco night is possible for a crowd, but it’s more work than it looks. Fillings need slow cooking, tortillas need warming as you go, and salsas need making. Our taco bar guide explains how.
You can set up your own drinks table, but someone still has to mix, pour and keep an eye on it all evening. See our margarita bar guide.
Space, access and the venue
Access is the first thing to check for a truck or trailer. We need:
- Power and water, confirmed with each booking
- A parking suspension, where a street spot is needed
- Seating or standing room near the truck
If in doubt, send us a picture of the spot and the access, and we will advise before booking.
Comparing your options
Cooking yourself saves on catering but costs you the day. With a hired truck, we do the cooking so you can join in. Comparing caterers? Look at what each quote includes: service time, staff, plates and napkins, travel and VAT. Our quote sets out what’s included.
What you get with us

The process
We work to your timings. If speeches run late or the photos take longer, tell us and we will adjust the start of service where we can. A Christmas party in Southend with a hired food truck will be in the dark from about 4:00pm, so choose a well-lit spot for the truck or trailer. At midsummer, sunset is around 9:20pm.
- Check our availability for your date.
- We agree a hatch menu and send a quote.
- We confirm the parking spot and the route in.
- On the day, guests order at the hatch and we cook to order.
- We pack down and drive away when service ends.
Preparing for the day
- Let us know the timings for the day
- Check the venue is happy to have a truck or trailer on site

FAQs for Southend
Could you serve our guests after a service at Church of the Holy Trinity?
Yes. The church itself is not where we’d set up, but a hall, field or garden close by with room for the truck or trailer can work well. Let us know the reception address and we’ll check the access.
Do you come out to small places like Southend?
Yes. Villages and hamlets are part of our area, and the main thing is access: tell us about the lane, the gate and the ground.
What happens if it rains?
We can serve from the hatch in the rain. It’s worth planning a covered area for guests, and tell us if heavy rain could make the ground soft.
Can we hire a bar too?
You can add our drinks bar, with margaritas, Mexican beer and aguas frescas. Licensing is checked with you.
Do you sell to the public at private events?
When you hire us, the booking is yours, so we do not serve passers-by. Organisers wanting us to trade at their event can see our festival page.
Can you plan for allergies?
Our menus are planned with allergies in mind, nut allergies included, with allergen information for every dish. We keep options separate, but we can’t promise anything is completely allergen-free. If a guest has a severe allergy, please talk to us before the event.
What space does the truck need?
Level, firm ground or hardstanding, access wide and high enough to drive in, and the venue’s permission. We confirm power and water when you book.
What about vegan and gluten-free guests?
We plan gluten-free, dairy-free, vegetarian and vegan options, and corn tortillas suit gluten-free guests. Allergen information is available for every dish.
Prices and what affects them
Pricing is straightforward once we know the basics:
- The number of people
- Whether you need disposables
- How many staff you need
- The menu you choose
The cost per head can fall as numbers rise, because the set-up is similar for different sizes of event. Give us your numbers and we’ll quote.
What we need to know
When you contact us, it helps to tell us:
- Whether you’d like food, drinks or both
- What power and water the site has
- The venue or postcode
- The date and rough timings
We quote for each event separately, so the price fits what you actually want. To ask for one, send a quick message through our quote form.
Planning for every diet
With a little notice, most diets are easy. Our advice:
- Agree service times with us
- Email us any allergies
- Put anyone with a severe allergy in touch with us
- Look into parking permissions if the truck cannot go off-road
Running late? Tell us and we will adjust service.
Loaded nachos to share while the first orders cook are a good way to begin.
