How our food truck hire works in Stede Quarter
Food truck hire means our food truck or trailer is booked for your guests only. Unlike a stall at a festival or market, it’s a private hire, so we plan the menu and service times around you. It suits milestone birthdays and parties in venue grounds, serving vegan tacos, fresh salsas and guacamole and tacos from the hatch.
Near Stede Quarter, a hired food truck in a field or garden suits private parties and work away days alike. Guests queue at the hatch, so have some cover ready in case of rain. We serve from the hatch of our food truck or trailer, or from a serving station, and we plan the service around your numbers.

Should I do it myself?
Not sure whether to do it yourself or book a caterer? Think about numbers, diets and how much you want to enjoy the day. Contact us for a quote to compare.
For a small group, a taco night at home can work well. For big numbers or lots of diets, a caterer makes life easier, and handles allergen information for you.

For event organisers in Stede Quarter
Events in public spaces, like parks, typically need permission. We can send what the landowner or council needs from us.

What we need at the venue
We’ll agree the spot with you before the day. A good spot ticks these boxes:
- A parking suspension, where a street spot is needed
- A clear area for a queue at the hatch
- Firm, level ground or hardstanding where the truck or trailer can park
Not sure about your space? Send us a photo and we will tell you honestly.
Stede Quarter questions
Will you travel to a small place like Stede Quarter?
Yes, we cater in villages and hamlets as well as towns. Tell us about lanes, gates, ground and parking.
Can you bring your truck or trailer to Wattle Wood?
Only with permission from whoever runs the park, often the council. Check with them, and we’ll provide what they ask for from us.
Do you take everything away?
We pack down and leave our area tidy. Let us know the venue’s rules on waste and we will confirm the arrangements with your quote.
What do you need at the venue?
A level, firm spot for the truck or trailer, with access wide and high enough to drive in, and the venue’s agreement. We confirm power and water with you for each booking.
What areas do you cover?
London and the South East: Greater London, Kent and Medway, Surrey, East Sussex, West Sussex, Hampshire, the Isle of Wight, Berkshire, Buckinghamshire and Oxfordshire.
How many guests can the truck serve?
It depends on the event and how long service runs. Most bookings fall around 50 to 400 guests, so tell us your numbers.
How is private hire different from festival trading?
Private hire means we serve only your guests, with a menu and timings you agree with us. At festivals and markets we trade to the public; see our street food catering page.
Can you serve in the rain?
We can keep serving from the truck or trailer in the rain, but guests need somewhere covered to eat and drink, such as a marquee, gazebo or nearby building.
