Aston questions

Is Aston close to London?

It’s about 34 miles from central London, and inside the area we cover.

Could you serve our guests after a service at Church of St Nicholas?

Yes, at a garden, field or venue nearby where the truck or trailer can park. We’d serve at the reception venue rather than at the church itself. Send us the reception address.

Can you run a bar?

Yes, we do. Our drinks bar can be booked on its own or with food, with alcohol-free options such as aguas frescas. We will check the licensing for alcohol with you.

How long do you serve for?

It depends on your event. Timings are agreed in advance so everything fits your schedule.

What areas do you cover?

London and the South East: Greater London, Kent, Surrey, East and West Sussex, Hampshire, the Isle of Wight, Berkshire, Buckinghamshire, Milton Keynes and Oxfordshire, including Aston.

Can we have a build-your-own taco bar?

Yes, a taco bar is one of our options. Tell us about your space and numbers and we’ll suggest the best set-up.

Is the food made fresh?

Food is cooked to order in our food truck or trailer, or served from a build-your-own taco bar. Fillings are slow-cooked beforehand and finished on site.

Can you do gluten-free food?

Yes, gluten-free options are available, using corn tortillas. Tell us about any coeliac guests before the event so we can talk through how their food is prepared. See are corn tortillas gluten-free?

How it compares

DIY drinks tables are easy but need constant topping up. A staffed bar keeps everything under control. Extras, such as more dishes, extra drinks or a longer service, are quoted on request, so you can choose what you need.

Choosing a Mexican caterer

What Mexican bar hire costs

Every event is priced individually, based on a few main things:

  • The length of service
  • Your choice of food and drinks
  • What the venue already provides
  • Serving staff

The price depends on guest numbers, the menu and how long you’d like us to serve, along with extras and where your event is. We quote for each event individually.

Drinks bars for events in Aston

Aston is about 2 miles north-east of Henley-on-Thames, in Oxfordshire. For an event in Aston, we can park up at venues, fields, drives and courtyards. Aston is one of 443 towns and villages in Oxfordshire we cover. We cater right across the region, from Aston to High Wycombe (about 7 miles away).

If the service is at a church such as Church of St Nicholas, the bar would be set up at the reception venue rather than the church. Parks such as Fawley Court and Temple Island have their own rules on vehicles and alcohol, so check before planning a drinks bar there. With the Chilterns National Landscape within about 8 miles, a countryside drinks reception is an option. Check how the venue handles outside bars and vehicles.

Anywhere in RG9, we can bring the truck or trailer to your guests, from busy streets to quiet lanes. Whether your event is on Remenham Lane and Aston Ferry Lane or a nearby road, we’ll plan where to park and serve. Other places close to Aston for Mexican bar hire include Mill End (1 mile north), Remenham Hill (1 mile south), Remenham (1 mile west), Medmenham (1 mile east) and Bockmer End (2 miles east). For planners, venues and organisers

If your event is in a public space, such as a park, check what permission you need first. We can send what the landowner or council needs from us.

Booking for a company? Tell us what your finance team needs, and we will talk you through the process. We are happy to liaise with facilities on access and timings.

Before you choose a spot

Access is the first thing to check for a truck or trailer. We look for:

  • Permission from the venue or landowner
  • The right licence for alcohol: the venue’s licence or a Temporary Event Notice
  • Details of power and water on site

If you are unsure, send a photo of the space and the way in, and we will say what we think.

Popular choices

  • Fruit aguas frescas
  • Agua de jamaica (hibiscus)
  • Mexican beer
  • Soft drinks
  • Margaritas
  • Horchata

The process

Here’s how the day normally runs: we arrive and set up, service opens at the agreed time, and your guests are served fresh for the agreed time. A late-September party in Aston loses the light at about 7:05pm, so a bar running later in the evening needs lamps or festoons. In late May, it stays light until about 8:55pm.

  1. Send us your date, venue, numbers and drinks ideas.
  2. We talk through licensing with you, whether that is the venue’s licence or a Temporary Event Notice.
  3. You get a suggested drinks menu and a quote.
  4. On the day, our bar staff serve drinks responsibly at the agreed times.
  5. When the bar closes, we pack down and clear our area.

Preparing for the day

  • Find out what power and water are available
  • Have a marquee or gazebo ready in case of rain
  • Get the venue’s permission for us to park and serve

Planning the bar

A few tips to help the bar run smoothly:

  • Think about how guests get home
  • Plan water alongside the bar
  • Tell us how many guests are under 18
  • Collect allergy details in advance

Responsible serving comes first: under-18s aren’t served alcohol, and nor is anyone who has had too much.

Pair the bar with tacos, burritos and nachos.

  • Served from our truck or trailer at your venue, garden or event
  • Vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free and dairy-free options, with allergen information
  • Tacos and taco bars, burritos, bowls, nachos and quesadillas
