Mexican bar hire for Lake events

Mexican bar hire in Lake, served fresh

Aguas frescas are Mexico’s fresh fruit and flower drinks: agua de jamaica made with hibiscus, horchata, tamarind and fruit waters. They’re alcohol-free, so every guest can enjoy them. At themed celebrations and garden get-togethers, we will put together a menu of soft drinks, margaritas and agua de jamaica for your guests.

In Lake, a drinks bar works at home or in a local hall, with access for the truck or trailer. Alcohol-free drinks such as aguas frescas can be part of the menu. We prepare everything fresh for your event and serve it straight from our truck or trailer, so guests get it at its best.

Lake: venues, access and licensing

Lake is about 1 mile south-west of Sandown, in the Isle of Wight. We serve at events in gardens, halls and venues around Lake and nearby villages. We cover all 125 towns and villages in the Isle of Wight, wherever the truck or trailer can get in. You can also see our page for Portsmouth, about 12 miles away.

Close to Lake are historic houses such as Rylstone Manor (1.7 miles south) and Morton Manor (1.9 miles north-east). Many listed venues control who serves drinks on their premises, so ask yours what it allows. Older venues around Lake may restrict vehicles and outside drinks service, so confirm what’s allowed before you book. The coast is within about 2 miles of Lake. Wind, sand and the rules on alcohol in public places all need planning for a seaside bar.

Anywhere in PO36 and PO37, we can bring the truck or trailer to your guests, from busy streets to quiet lanes. Your event could be at a home on Lea Road, New Road and Percy Road. Being close to the A3055, Lake is simple for us to get to for your event. If your venue is just outside Lake, we also cover Sandown (1 mile north-east), Alverstone (1 mile north-west), Queen's Bower (1 mile north-west), Shanklin (1 mile south) and Alverstone Garden Village (1 mile north-west). Within a short drive, we also cover Newport (7 miles north-west), Ryde (5 miles north), Cowes (10 miles north-west), Ventnor (4 miles south-west), East Cowes (9 miles north-west) and Oakfield (5 miles north). For an event at a remote venue, let us know early and we’ll plan the trip and the route in for the truck or trailer.

A little further out are National Poo Museum (under half a mile east) and Arthur Webster Memorial Hospital for Children (1.2 miles south-west). The countryside around Lake includes Brading Down and Alverstone Mead.

  • Nearby schools include Sandown Bay Academy (0.6 miles north) and The Bay Church of England School (0.7 miles north-east)
  • Local pubs include The Old Comical pub (0.6 miles north-east)

Planners, venues and businesses

For larger events, we plan serving points around your timings, so everyone is served promptly. Let us know how long the break is.

If you’re organising for someone else, such as a wedding planner, an office manager or a festival organiser, we’re happy to deal with you and the venue directly. It keeps things simple.

Lake questions

Which station should guests use for Lake?

Lake has its own station: Lake station.

Can you cater a reception after a service at Church of The Good Shepherd?

Yes. The church itself isn’t where we’d set up, but a hall, field or garden close by with room for the truck or trailer can work well. Let us know the reception address and we’ll check the access.

Can guests build their own tacos?

Yes, a taco bar is one of the ways we serve. Tell us about your space and numbers and we’ll recommend how to serve.

When do you arrive?

That depends on your event and menu. We agree arrival, service and pack-down times with you so everything fits your schedule.

Do you cover Lake?

Yes, we do. We serve at events in Lake and across the Isle of Wight. Tell us your date and we will check availability.

Can we book the bar without food?

Yes. The bar can be booked on its own, or with our Mexican catering.

Is the food suitable for children?

Of course. We can keep dishes mild, and simple options such as quesadillas or nachos can be part of the menu. Include children in your numbers.

Do you clear up afterwards?

We pack down and leave our area tidy. Let us know the venue’s rules on waste and we will talk it through.

DIY taco night versus a caterer

If you do it yourself, work out quantities first: see how many tacos per person. Keep tortillas warm in a covered basket, and label anything containing allergens.

Running your own drinks table is one option, but someone still has to mix, pour and keep an eye on it all evening. Our margarita bar guide has tips.

How we price Mexican bar hire

Your quote will be clear. The main things that affect it are:

  • How long we are needed on site
  • Serving staff
  • The menu you choose
  • Whether you need disposables

There’s no one-size-fits-all price for Mexican bar hire. A simple party menu and a full wedding day are very different jobs. Your quote sets it all out.

What we need to know

You don’t need every detail fixed to get a quote, but it helps to know:

  • How we drive in and where we can park
  • The venue or postcode
  • The date and rough timings
  • Roughly how many adults and children

It is easy to get a price: tell us the date, place, numbers and any dietary needs. We will send you a clear quote.

What happens on the day

We work to your timings. If things run behind, tell us and we will adjust the start of service where we can. Winter receptions in Lake are dark by about 4:00pm in December, so an outdoor bar needs lighting from the start. At midsummer, by contrast, sunset is around 9:20pm.

  1. First, we check your date.
  2. We suggest margaritas, beer, aguas frescas and alcohol-free choices.
  3. We confirm power, water and the bar spot.
  4. The bar opens at the agreed time.
  5. When the bar shuts, we clear away.

Before we arrive

  • Let us know the timings for the day
  • Confirm numbers and diets before the day
  • Find out what power and water are available

Getting a price

Still deciding on the menu? No problem: give us the basics about your event, and we will make suggestions. When you are ready, tell us about it on our contact page.
