Step by step

We need a level, firm spot we can drive the truck or trailer onto, and we agree power and water arrangements before the day. Send us a photo of the space if you’re unsure. In December, the light goes in Worth Abbey at about 3:55pm, so plan where guests will gather, and how it will be lit. At midsummer, by contrast, sunset is around 9:20pm.

  1. It starts with your date, venue, numbers and what you’d like to serve.
  2. Together we check how alcohol will be licensed at your event.
  3. We put together a drinks menu, with alcohol-free choices, and quote for it.
  4. We arrive, set up and serve margaritas, Mexican beer and aguas frescas.
  5. We pack away when the bar shuts and leave the area tidy.

Getting ready for the day

  • Plan a covered area for guests if rain is likely
  • Share the running order, including any speeches
  • Name one person we can ask on the day

How we price Mexican bar hire

We will give you a clear quote. The main things that affect it are:

  • Parking and the route in
  • How many staff you need
  • The length of service
  • Your choice of food and drinks

The price depends on guest numbers, the menu and how long you’d like us to serve, plus any add-ons and the location. Every event gets its own quote.

Getting an accurate quote

You don’t need every detail fixed to get a quote, but it helps to know:

  • Expected numbers
  • What power and water the site has
  • Vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, dairy-free and allergy numbers
  • Your date and when you want service to start

We need only a few details to quote: date, location, guest numbers and diets. To send them, send a quick message through our quote form.

DIY taco night versus a caterer

Plenty of people try a DIY taco night at home. Common snags are cold tortillas, uneven quantities and the host missing the party. If you’d rather enjoy the party, let us serve.

You can set up your own drinks table, but someone still has to mix, pour and keep an eye on it all evening. Our margarita bar guide has tips.

Questions to ask before you book

Questions from Worth Abbey

Which station should guests use for Worth Abbey?

Three Bridges station, about 2.6 miles north-west of the centre.

Do you come out to small places like Worth Abbey?

Yes. Villages and hamlets are part of our area, and the main thing is access: tell us about the lane, the gate and the ground.

Do you give allergen information?

Yes. Tell us about allergies when you book. Under UK rules, caterers must give information on 14 allergens, and we give it for every dish (Food Standards Agency guidance). Anyone with a severe allergy should speak to us before the event.

Is the food made fresh?

We slow-cook fillings ahead, then finish them and keep them hot at your event. The tortillas are warmed on site, and the salsas and guacamole are made fresh.

Do you cater for vegetarian guests?

Yes, they’re part of the planning from the start. Let us know how many vegetarian and vegan guests to expect.

How much does the drinks bar cost?

We do not publish set prices, because every event is different. Tell us your plans for a quote.

Do you have a licence to sell alcohol?

It depends on the venue. Some venues have a premises licence; others need a Temporary Event Notice. We talk it through with you.
