What we need at the venue
No two venues are the same, so we ask about the space when you contact us. Generally, we look for:
- Access for the truck or trailer at set-up
- Details of power, water and waste arrangements
- A pitch big enough for the truck or trailer and a queue
In Old Ford, as everywhere in Greater London, the ULEZ applies and kerb space is limited. Where will the truck or trailer stop? A drive, a courtyard or a suspended bay can all work.
Not sure about your space? Send us a photo and we will tell you honestly.

What happens on the day
Guests tend to gather around the truck, so we plan a spot with space for people to queue. We can serve in the rain, but guests will need somewhere covered. Christmas markets in Old Ford trade in the dark from about 3:55pm, so a lit pitch helps visitors find the truck. At midsummer, daylight lasts until roughly 9:20pm.
- Tell us about the event, the crowd and the pitch.
- You get our menu and pitch requirements.
- We confirm power, water and access arrangements.
- We plan to be ready for the lunchtime rush.
- At close, we pack down and tidy up.
Before we arrive
- Get the venue’s permission for us to park and serve
- Choose a level, firm spot for the truck or trailer
- Let us know who to talk to on the day

Old Ford questions
Could you serve in Grove Hall Park?
It depends on the park’s owner, who would need to agree to a catering vehicle on site. Ask them first; if they say yes, we will send what they need from us.
Which station is closest to Old Ford?
Hackney Wick station, about 0.6 miles north of the centre.
What documents can you send?
Send us your list, and we will send what you ask for.
Which areas do you serve?
London and South East England: Greater London, Kent and Medway, Surrey, East Sussex, West Sussex, Hampshire, the Isle of Wight, Berkshire, Buckinghamshire and Oxfordshire.
Can guests build their own tacos?
Yes. We can set up a build-your-own taco bar, served from the truck or a serving table, with fillings, salsas, guacamole and toppings. Read our taco bar guide.
When should we book?
Early, particularly for summer Saturdays. Ask about your date even if it’s soon.
Can you plan for allergies?
Yes. Tell us about allergies when you book. Under UK rules, caterers must give information on 14 allergens, and we do that for every dish (Food Standards Agency guidance). For severe allergies, please talk to us first.
What do you need at the pitch?
We will confirm our needs once we know the pitch details, including power and water.
DIY taco night or a caterer?
A DIY taco night works well for a small group. For big numbers or lots of diets, a caterer makes life easier, with allergen information for every dish.
Some hosts like to do it themselves. Common snags are cold tortillas, uneven quantities and the host missing the party. If you’d rather be with your guests, we will do the serving.
How we price Mexican street food
Your quote will be clear. What affects it most:
- Parking and the route in
- How many staff you need
- Guest numbers
- What the venue already provides
Access and travel can make a difference to the cost, so it helps to tell us about your venue. Your quote confirms the full price.
Getting an accurate quote
The more we know about your event, the better we can plan. Try to include:
- Gate widths, slopes and the ground
- Roughly how many adults and children
- Whether you’d like food, drinks or both
- A picture of the space, if it’s a garden or field
We need only a few details to quote: date, location, guest numbers and diets. Contact us for a quote: just drop us a line using the enquiry form.
How it compares
For a stall that adds atmosphere, tacos and burritos deliver. Cost depends on guest numbers, the menu and the length of service, plus any add-ons and the location. We quote for each event individually.
What you get with us
