Taco bar hire in Abinger Common, served fresh

You choose the fillings with us, such as pork carnitas, chicken tinga or beef birria, with a vegan filling like black bean and sweet potato or spiced mushroom. For evening receptions and marquee parties, we will put together a menu of slow-cooked fillings kept hot, burrito bowls and pickled onions and toppings for your guests.

For a rural spot like Abinger Common, a taco bar beside the truck in a field or garden is a simple set-up. Let us know about the gate, the ground and the route in, and we’ll confirm power and water with you. Every guest is catered for, vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free and dairy-free included, and we give allergen information for every dish.

Common questions in Abinger Common

Can you cater a reception after a service at Church of St James?

Yes, at a garden, field or venue nearby where the truck or trailer can park. Service would be at the reception venue, not the church. Send us the reception address.

Can you bring your truck or trailer to Wotton and Abinger Commons?

Only with permission from whoever runs the park, often the council. Check with them, and we will provide what they ask for from us.

Can guests build tacos at a wedding breakfast?

A taco bar works well for a relaxed wedding breakfast. We fit it around your speeches and photos. There is more in our taco bar guide.

What guest numbers do you cater for?

That depends on your timings and the event. Most bookings fall around 50 to 400 guests, so tell us your numbers.

What if a vehicle can’t reach the serving spot?

The taco bar can be served from a table or station away from the truck. We still need to park our vehicle nearby to unload, and the venue’s agreement.

What access do you need?

Level, firm ground or hardstanding for the truck or trailer, and a route in it can fit through, and the venue’s agreement. Power and water arrangements are confirmed with each booking.

What happens if it rains?

We can serve from the hatch in the rain. It is worth planning a covered area for guests, and tell us if heavy rain could make the ground soft.

Do you have options for kids?

Of course. Mild dishes, quesadillas and nachos can be part of the menu. Tell us how many children are coming.

How the day works

On the day, we park the truck or trailer in the agreed spot and set up. Service starts at the time we have agreed, planned around your event. In Abinger Common, the sun sets at about 9:20pm in late June and about 7:05pm in late September, so an outdoor taco bar in summer is usually served in daylight. In December it is dark by about 3:55pm, so guests will need light to see the fillings and toppings.

  1. Start with the essentials: the date, venue, headcount and diets.
  2. We suggest fillings, salsas and toppings for the bar and send a quote.
  3. Before the day, we confirm the serving spot, unloading, power and water with the venue.
  4. Our staff set up the station, keep the fillings hot and top up the bar through service.
  5. After the last tacos, we clear the station away.

Before we arrive

  • Check gates and access routes are wide and high enough

Diets, allergies and planning

Allergies and diets are taken seriously. Help us by following these steps:

  • Give us separate numbers for children
  • Set out seating near the bar
  • Confirm any allergies to us by email
  • Collect dietary needs with your replies

Staff stay at the taco bar to refill bowls and answer questions.

Nachos to share can keep guests going before the bar opens.

What we need at the venue

Before the day, we will agree where we park and serve. A good spot ticks these boxes:

  • Power and water, which we confirm when you book
  • Space beside the truck or trailer if you are booking both
  • The venue’s agreement for the taco bar and our vehicle

If in doubt, send us a picture of the spot and the access, and we’ll advise.

Popular choices

Prices and what affects them

Here’s what makes the biggest difference to the price:

  • How many staff you need
  • Guest numbers
  • Whether you add a drinks bar or food
  • What’s on the menu

Access, parking and the distance to your venue can affect the price, so tell us about the venue when you ask for a quote. The full price is confirmed in your quote.

Getting an accurate quote

Good planning starts with a few facts. Please include:

  • Approximate guest numbers, including children
  • Your date and when you want service to start
  • A picture of the space, if it’s a garden or field
  • Access for the truck or trailer, including gates and ground

We quote for each event separately, so the price fits what you actually want. For a quote, fill in our quote form.
