  • When final numbers are due
  • A clear list of what’s included

Taco bar hire in Friday Street, from our truck or trailer

Mixed diets are simple at a taco bar, as fillings and toppings are kept in separate dishes. There are vegan, vegetarian, dairy-free and gluten-free choices, with corn tortillas for gluten-free guests. Popular choices include fresh salsas, guacamole and warm corn and flour tortillas, and it is a good fit for wedding breakfasts and company parties.

Near Friday Street, a taco bar next to the truck in a field or garden works well. Let us know about the gate, the ground and the route in, and we confirm power and water arrangements before the day. Every guest is catered for, gluten-free, dairy-free, vegetarian and vegan included, and we give allergen information for every dish.

Common questions in Friday Street

We are having a ceremony at Church of St James: can you cater afterwards?

Yes. The church itself is not where we’d set up, but a hall, field or garden close by with room for the truck or trailer can work well. Let us know the reception address and we’ll check the access.

Can you bring a truck or trailer to venues in the Surrey Hills National Landscape?

We do, where the venue allows a catering vehicle. Lanes can be narrow and ground soft, so tell us how we’d get in.

Do you bring plates and cutlery?

That’s confirmed with each quote. Let us know what the venue supplies.

Can you serve in the rain?

We can serve from the hatch in the rain. It is worth planning a covered area for guests, and let us know if the ground gets soft after heavy rain.

Is the taco bar staffed?

We set up and stay to keep the bar hot and stocked through service.

Is a taco bar suitable for a big group?

Our service usually suits around 50 to 400 guests, and smaller parties are quoted case by case. Share your headcount and we’ll size the bar to suit.

Do you have vegan options?

Of course. We can include vegetarian and vegan fillings like black beans or spiced mushrooms, served alongside the meat options.

What about power on site?

That depends on the set-up, so we confirm power and water arrangements with each booking. Let us know whether there is a supply near where we will park.

Step by step

We get there well before you want to serve, set up the truck or trailer and get everything ready. When service opens, guests come up to the hatch or serving table. From late May to late September, sunset in Friday Street moves from about 8:50pm to 7:05pm. If the taco bar is outdoors and runs later, tell us what lighting the venue has.

  1. Send us your date, where the taco bar will go, numbers and dietary needs.
  2. You get a suggested taco-bar spread and a quote.
  3. Together we fix the spot for the taco bar and a nearby place for our vehicle.
  4. On the day our staff lay out the bar and keep it stocked while guests build their tacos.
  5. When service finishes, we clear the table and pack the vehicle.

Preparing for the day

  • Pick a flat, firm spot for us to park
  • Measure any gates or arches on the way in
  • Get the venue’s permission for us to park and serve

How to get a price

We need only a few details to quote: the date, where the event is, how many guests and any dietary needs. To send them, use our quote form.

Planning help

Can I do a taco night myself?

A DIY taco night is possible for a crowd, but it’s more work than it looks. There are fillings to slow-cook, tortillas to keep warm and salsas to make. Our taco bar guide explains how.

Doing it yourself? Start with the quantities: our guide to how many tacos per person helps. Keep tortillas warm in a covered basket, and label dishes for guests with allergies.

Working with your venue

If you are booking for a business, tell us what your finance team needs, and we will explain how it works. We can work with your facilities team on access and timings.

For big numbers, we plan service to keep queues short, so guests are looked after quickly. Tell us how long you have for food and drinks.

Catering for every guest

A Mexican menu is easy to plan for mixed diets, because options can be kept separate. A few tips:

  • Decide where the table goes before the day
  • Let us know about anyone who is coeliac
  • Ask the venue where we can park to unload
  • Confirm any allergies to us by email

We get there early enough to unload, lay out the table and heat everything through.

Book the truck or trailer for evening food after a daytime taco bar, quoted with the rest.
