Events we cater in Beaulieu

The bar becomes a meeting point: people chat about salsas and fillings while they build.

A truck or trailer works for big and small events alike. Common bookings include:

  • Family celebrations
  • Engagement parties
  • Birthday celebrations
  • Barn parties

When the service is at a church such as Church of the Blessed Virgin and Child, the taco bar would be set up at the reception venue rather than the church.

Choosing a Mexican caterer

Taco bar hire for your event in Beaulieu

Truck and trailer bookings generally suit around 50 to 400 guests, while smaller parties are quoted case by case. Tell us your numbers and we will plan the taco bar around them. It suits company parties and engagement and anniversary parties, with warm corn and flour tortillas, slow-cooked fillings kept hot and guacamole.

Somewhere as small as Beaulieu, a garden, barn or hall can host a taco bar. If lanes or soft ground stop the truck getting close, the station can be set up nearer your guests, as long as we can unload within a short walk. You will know what’s included before you book: the menu, the service time and any extras you choose.

What affects the price in Beaulieu

Pricing is straightforward once we know the basics:

  • Whether you need disposables
  • The length of service
  • How many staff you need
  • Whether you add a drinks bar or food

What’s on the menu makes a difference to the total, so tell us what you have in mind. We’ll suggest options to suit your budget.

Details that help

You do not need every detail fixed to get a quote, but these help:

  • A picture of where we’d park
  • The date and rough timings
  • Roughly how many adults and children
  • Any dietary needs and allergies

The quickest way to a quote is to send us your details through our quote form. Tell us about your event in Beaulieu, and we’ll put together a menu and price.

Planners, venues and businesses

Events in public spaces, like parks, typically need permission. We can send what the landowner or council needs from us.

Wedding planners and venue coordinators are welcome to contact us directly, and we will keep you updated on timings and set-up.

The process

We arrive in good time before service, set up the truck or trailer and get everything ready. Guests come up to order when service opens. In Beaulieu, the sun sets at about 9:25pm in late June and about 7:10pm in late September, so a summer taco bar outside normally runs in daylight. In December it is dark by about 4:00pm, so guests will need light to see the fillings and toppings.

  1. Begin with the date and headcount.
  2. We plan fillings and toppings around your guests’ diets.
  3. We fix timings with you and the venue.
  4. The bar opens at the agreed time.
  5. Once service is over, we pack away.

Getting ready for the day

Beaulieu: your questions answered

Can the taco bar go in a local hall rather than outside?

Yes, with the venue’s permission. Tell us about the parking, the doors and the space for the station.

Do you cater in villages like Beaulieu?

Yes. Villages and hamlets are part of our area, and the main thing is access: tell us about the lane, the gate and the ground.

Do you provide drinks?

Yes. Our drinks bar can be booked on its own or with food, with alcohol-free options such as aguas frescas. We’ll check the licensing for alcohol with you.

What do you serve?

Mexican street food: tacos, taco bars, burritos, bowls, nachos and quesadillas, with salsas, guacamole and toppings. A drinks bar is available too.

Do you cater for coeliacs?

Yes, we offer gluten-free options, made with corn tortillas. Let us know about coeliac guests in advance so we can talk through how their food is prepared. See are corn tortillas gluten-free?

Can you serve in the rain?

We can serve from the hatch in the rain. Plan cover for guests, such as a marquee or gazebo, and let us know if the ground gets soft after heavy rain.

What space does a taco bar need?

Room for the table and a queue, plus a nearby place to unload. Power and water are confirmed with each booking.

Can you come to a private house?

Yes, if the truck or trailer can get in and park on level, firm ground. Send us a photo of the access and the space.

DIY taco night or a caterer?

Doing it yourself saves money, but the host ends up in the kitchen. Booking a caterer means you can relax with everyone else.

Some hosts like to do it themselves. Common snags are cold tortillas, uneven quantities and the host missing the party. If you’d rather be with your guests, we will do the serving.

Planning for every diet

Good planning keeps every guest safe and happy. Try these:

  • Count children separately
  • Agree the serving spot with your venue early
  • Have tables and seats ready for guests to eat at
  • Include a vegan filling on the bar

We get there early enough to unload, lay out the table and heat everything through.

Ask us about plates, napkins and cutlery and we will set out the options in your quote.

Planning a taco bar in Beaulieu

Beaulieu is about 4 miles south-west of Hythe, in Hampshire. Whether your event is in the middle of Beaulieu or on the outskirts, taco bar hire works the same way: fresh service from our truck or trailer, every diet planned for and a clear quote. We serve in 683 places across Hampshire, wherever the truck or trailer can get in. You can also see our page for Southampton, about 7 miles away.

Historic houses near Beaulieu include Beaulieu Palace House (within half a mile north). Estates and listed houses set their own rules for caterers, so check where a taco bar station and our vehicle would be permitted before you book. For guests coming by train, Beaulieu Road station is about 3.4 miles away. Beaulieu is within about a mile of the New Forest National Park, with barns and country venues that could host a taco bar. Where vehicles cannot reach the room, the station can be set up there with the venue’s agreement, but we still need to unload close by. The coast is within about 6 miles of Beaulieu, so for a seaside taco bar we plan around the wind. A sheltered spot for the station helps, and seafront sites generally need permission.

We serve at events all over SO42. That could mean an event at a home with a drive on High Street, Palace Lane and Hatchet Lane. If your venue is just outside Beaulieu, we also cover Bailey's Hard (1 mile south-east), The Hummicks (1 mile south-east), Furzey Lodge (1 mile west), East Boldre (1 mile south-west) and Dibden Purlieu (3 miles north-east). Further out, we also cater in Gosport (13 miles east), Eastleigh (11 miles north-east), Fareham (11 miles east), Totton (7 miles north), Chandler's Ford (12 miles north) and Hedge End (9 miles north-east).

A little further out are Lymington New Forest Hospital (5.4 miles south-west) and Beaulieu Abbey And Display Of Monastic Life (within half a mile north-west).

  • Local pubs include The Montagu Arms (less than half a mile south-west)
