Taco bar hire in Cheam

Cheam: venues, access and set-up

Cheam is about 1 mile south-west of Sutton, in Greater London. Events in Cheam are planned around your venue and timings: a clear quote, agreed timings and fresh service on the day. We serve in all 764 towns and villages in Greater London, from the larger towns to small villages, wherever the truck or trailer can get in.

Before you plan a taco bar in Howell Hill, find out who manages it, as catering and unloading there both need their agreement. By rail: the nearest station is Cheam station, about 0.6 miles north. Venues in and around the Surrey Hills National Landscape, within about 8 miles of Cheam, sometimes have strict rules about catering and vehicles. Check with yours where a taco bar station and our truck or trailer could go.

This part of Greater London takes in SM2, SM3 and SM1, so your event can be anywhere in it. We can cater an event on streets such as Wray Road, York Road and The Avenue or the roads around them. For events just outside Cheam, we cover Belmont (1 mile south-east), Cuddington (1 mile north-west), North Looe (1 mile south-west), North Cheam (2 miles north) and Nork (2 miles south). Within a short drive, we also cover London (12 miles north-east), City of Westminster (12 miles north), Marylebone (12 miles north), Kensington (11 miles north), St Pancras (13 miles north) and Shoreditch (14 miles north-east).

A little further out are Municipal Borough of Sutton and Cheam (1 mile north-east) and Chessington Castle Hill (3.5 miles west). The countryside around Cheam includes Duppas Hill and Belmont Pastures.

  • Schools near Cheam include Avenue Primary Academy (0.5 miles south-east) and Overton Grange School (0.7 miles north-east)

Taco bar hire in Cheam, from our food truck or trailer

Truck and trailer bookings typically suit around 50 to 400 guests, and smaller parties are quoted case by case. Share your headcount and we’ll size the taco bar to match. At team lunches and leaving and retirement parties, we will put together a menu of burrito bowls, slow-cooked fillings kept hot and guacamole.

London gardens are often reached only through the house, and many venues in Cheam have no vehicle access to the room. A taco bar station can be set up away from the truck, with the venue’s agreement, and the route from our parking spot to the station needs to be clear. Timings are planned around your event, so service starts when you want it.

Events we cater in Cheam

You are not limited to places a truck can park, like a barn, courtyard or hall, if the venue agrees.

If you are planning any of these, we can help:

  • Family celebrations
  • Engagement parties
  • Milestone birthdays
  • Staff parties

If your garden is hard to reach, a hired hall or club around Cheam could take the taco bar instead.

What your quote should include

  • The caterer’s food hygiene rating
  • How dietary needs and allergies are handled
  • When payment is due
  • If the price includes VAT

The menu, item by item

Salsas

Salsa lets everyone pick their own heat.

Guacamole

Guacamole made fresh, with lime and coriander.

Planning for every diet

Dietary needs are easy to plan for with a little notice. We suggest:

  • Choose at least one vegan filling
  • Tell us how many children are coming
  • Confirm any allergies to us by email
  • Confirm a loading spot close to the bar

We arrive with time to unload and set the bar up before guests eat.

A wider range of salsas suits guests who like it mild and those who like it hot.

Space, access and the venue

Many gardens, fields and venues can take a truck or trailer, but a few things matter:

  • Somewhere close by for our vehicle to park and unload
  • A sheltered spot if we’re serving outside
  • Power and water, which we confirm when you book

London streets around Cheam can be narrow and busy, and all of Greater London sits inside the ULEZ. Tell us about loading, permits and any parking suspension when you enquire.

If you are unsure, send a picture of the space and the way in, and we’ll say what we think.

Menu ideas

  • Pickled onions and toppings
  • Vegan fillings
  • Corn and flour tortillas
  • Two to four fillings
  • Salsas and guacamole
  • Tortilla chips

How it compares

A plated wedding breakfast needs a kitchen, waiting staff and fixed courses. For a taco bar, we need a serving spot, a nearby place to unload and the venue’s permission, with power and water confirmed when you book. The cost per head can fall as numbers rise, since the set-up is much the same either way. Give us your numbers and we will quote.

What you get with us

  • A menu built around your guests
  • Events in Cheam and across Greater London
  • Book food, drinks or both
  • Quick, friendly service from the hatch

See our prices page and our guide to catering costs.

Can I do a taco night myself?

Running your own drinks table is one option, but someone has to serve all evening. See our margarita bar guide.

If you do it yourself, work out quantities first: see how many tacos per person. Keep warmed tortillas covered, and label anything containing allergens.

Cheam: your questions answered

Do you come to events in the Surrey Hills National Landscape?

We do, where the venue allows a catering vehicle. Lanes can be narrow and ground soft, so tell us how we’d get in.

Is it possible to have you in Howell Hill?

It depends on the park’s owner, who would need to agree to a catering vehicle on site. Ask them first; if they say yes, we will send what they need from us.

Do you cook on site?

Food is cooked to order in our truck or trailer, or served from a build-your-own taco bar. Slow-cooked fillings are prepared in advance and kept hot on site.

Can you serve in the rain?

Rain doesn’t typically stop service from the truck or trailer. It’s worth planning a covered area for guests, and let us know if the ground gets soft after heavy rain.

Does the taco bar need the truck on site?

The bar can stand on its own, away from the truck or trailer. We still need to park our vehicle nearby to unload, and the venue’s agreement.

What space does a taco bar need?

Room for the table and a queue, plus a nearby place to unload. We confirm power and water when you book.

What about power on site?

That depends on the set-up, and we agree power and water with you before the day. Let us know whether there is a supply near where we’ll park.

Can you do dairy-free food?

We can. Dairy-free options are part of our menus.

How the day works

A typical event goes like this: we arrive and set up, we open the hatch when you are ready, and we serve your guests fresh until service ends. Winter evenings in Cheam close in by about 3:55pm, so set the station up where the lighting is good. At midsummer, by contrast, daylight lasts until about 9:20pm.

  1. Get in touch with your date and headcount.
  2. We agree a menu that covers every diet.
  3. Nearer the date, we confirm timings and the serving spot.
  4. Service starts when your running order says.
  5. We clear our station when service ends.

Getting ready for the day

  • Ask the venue about power and water
  • Have level hardstanding or firm ground ready
  • Measure any gates or arches on the way in

How to get a price
