FAQs for Denmead

Is Denmead close to London?

It’s about 59 miles from central London, and inside the area we cover.

What’s the nearest station to Denmead for guests?

Guests can use Cosham station, about 4.1 miles south of Denmead.

What does taco bar hire cost?

Every event is quoted individually, so the price fits what you want. Tell us your date and numbers for a clear quote.

Is there a minimum number of guests?

Truck and trailer service generally suits around 50 to 400 guests. Smaller parties are quoted case by case, and festivals can be larger. Send us your numbers and we’ll advise.

What if a vehicle can’t reach the serving spot?

The bar can stand on its own, away from the truck or trailer. We still need somewhere close to unload our vehicle, and the venue has to agree.

Do you have gluten-free options?

Yes, we offer gluten-free options, using corn tortillas. Let us know about coeliac guests in advance so we can explain how we prepare their food. See are corn tortillas gluten-free?

What is a build-your-own taco bar?

A serving table is laid with warm tortillas, hot fillings, salsas and toppings, and guests build their own tacos. We stay to keep everything hot and stocked.

How soon do we need to book?

Early, particularly for summer Saturdays. Even if it is short notice, it’s worth asking.

How our taco bar hire works in Denmead

We bring taco bars to events in and around Denmead: marquees, barns, gardens, halls and workplaces, wherever there is room for the table. For barn and marquee parties and milestone birthdays, we’ll put together a menu of fresh salsas, pickled onions and toppings and burrito bowls for your guests.

In and around Denmead, a taco bar works beside the truck or in a hall nearby. Where access is tight, the truck stays nearby and the station goes where your guests are, as long as we can unload within a short walk. Guests are served from our food truck or trailer, or from a serving table nearby, and we plan the service around your numbers.

  • Power and water, which we confirm when you book
  • Room for the bar alongside the vehicle, if booked together
  • Space for a line of guests at the bar

Not sure about your space? Send us a photo and we will tell you honestly before booking.

Step by step

On the day, we park the truck or trailer in the agreed spot and set up. We’re ready to serve at the agreed time, so everything runs to your schedule. A December taco bar in Denmead will be in the dark from about 4:00pm, so an indoor spot or a well-lit station works best. At midsummer, by contrast, daylight lasts until about 9:20pm.

  1. Tell us about your event and your guests.
  2. We send a sample spread and a quote.
  3. We check power, water and access with your venue.
  4. We arrive, unload and lay out warm tortillas, fillings and toppings.
  5. At the end, we take everything away.

Before we arrive

  • Tell us about narrow gates or low branches
  • Share the running order, including any speeches
  • Choose a level, firm spot for the truck or trailer

Comparing your options

Buffet trays can go cold and tired. We keep the fillings hot and refill the dishes through service. When you compare quotes, check what each one includes: serving hours, staff, disposables, travel and VAT. Our quote sets out what’s included.

How we price taco bar hire

We quote for your event, which reflects:

  • The length of service
  • Your choice of food and drinks
  • How many guests we’re serving
  • Adding food to drinks, or drinks to food

Got a budget? Let us know, and we will suggest a menu that fits. Even a simple menu can feel generous.

Getting an accurate quote

These details help us quote quickly:

  • Any dietary needs and allergies
  • Approximate guest numbers, including children
  • The date and rough timings
  • A picture of the space, if it is a garden or field

A detailed enquiry gets a more accurate quote: the venue, the timings, food or drinks or both, and the access. To send your details, send us your details through our quote form.

Catering for every guest

A little planning makes sure everyone can eat. Try these:

  • Count children separately
  • Confirm a loading spot close to the bar
  • Put allergies in writing for us
  • Ask guests about diets and allergies on the RSVP

Fillings are kept hot and tortillas warmed in batches, so the bar stays fresh from the first plate to the last.

Our food truck or trailer can serve later in the day, after the taco bar.

Can I do a taco night myself?

Not sure whether to do it yourself or book a caterer? Consider your numbers, your guests’ diets and your own time. Ask us for a quote and compare.

Some hosts like to do it themselves. Common snags are cold tortillas, uneven quantities and the host missing the party. If you’d rather be with your guests, we’ll do the serving.
