Taco bar hire in Longlane, served fresh
With a taco bar, everything is laid out in one place: tortillas kept warm, fillings kept hot, and bowls of salsa, guacamole and toppings. Guests pick up a plate and build their own. It works well for working lunches and birthday parties, with a build-your-own taco bar, warm corn and flour tortillas and pickled onions and toppings.
Somewhere as small as Longlane, a garden, barn or hall can host a taco bar. If the truck can’t get close, we can set the station up nearer your guests, though we still need to unload within a short walk. We turn up ready to serve, and tidy our own area afterwards.

How the day works
We get there well before you want to serve, then set up and prepare everything. When service opens, guests come up to the hatch or serving table. Daylight in Longlane runs to about 8:55pm in late May and 7:10pm in late September. Let us know if an outdoor station will run after dark, and we’ll talk about lighting.
- Start with the essentials: the date, venue, headcount and diets.
- You get a suggested taco-bar spread and a quote.
- We agree where the table goes and where our vehicle can unload.
- Our staff set up the station, keep the fillings hot and top up the bar through service.
- After the last tacos, we clear the station away.
Preparing for the day
- Choose a level, firm spot for the truck or trailer
- Find out what power and water are available
- Plan a covered area for guests if rain is likely

DIY taco night versus a caterer
Doing it yourself saves money, but the host ends up in the kitchen. Booking a caterer means you can relax with everyone else.
Some hosts like to do it themselves. Common snags are cold tortillas, uneven quantities and the host missing the party. If you’d rather be with your guests, we will do the serving.

A build-your-own taco bar in Longlane
Longlane is about 3 miles north of Thatcham, in West Berkshire. Wherever your event is in the RG18 area, we can serve your guests, as long as there is access. Longlane is one of 155 towns and villages in West Berkshire we cover. Our nearest city page is Reading, about 13 miles away.
For guests coming by train, the nearest station is Newbury Racecourse station, about 3.3 miles south. When the service is at a church such as Holy Trinity, the taco bar would be set up at the reception venue rather than the church. The North Wessex Downs National Landscape is within about 6 miles of Longlane, with barns and country venues that could host a taco bar. Where vehicles can’t reach the room, the station can be set up there with the venue’s agreement, but we still need to unload close by.
Wherever your event is in RG18, we can bring the truck or trailer to your guests, from busy streets to quiet lanes. Local streets include Sandy Close, Long Lane and Curridge Piece; for an event at home on any of them, tell us where the truck or trailer can park. If your venue is just outside Longlane, we also cover Curridge (1 mile west), Hermitage (1 mile north-east), Wellhouse (1 mile east), Oare (1 mile north) and Little Hungerford (1 mile north-east). Within a short drive, we also cover Newbury (4 miles south-west), Thatcham (3 miles south), Burghfield Common (10 miles east), Speenhamland (3 miles south-west), Hungerford (10 miles west) and Spencers Wood (14 miles east).

Organising for someone else?
If you are planning an event on someone’s behalf, whether you’re a planner, an office manager or an event organiser, we’ll work directly with you and the venue. It keeps things simple.
Planners and coordinators can contact us directly, and we’ll keep you updated on timings and set-up.
Prices and what affects them
We’ll give you a clear quote. What affects it most:
- How many guests we are serving
- Timings and hours
- Whether you add a drinks bar or food
- Your choice of food and drinks
When you compare quotes, check what each one includes: service time, staff, plates and napkins, travel and VAT. Our quote sets out what’s included.
What we need to know
To speed things up, tell us:
- Access for the truck or trailer, including gates and ground
- Diets and allergies you know about
- The venue or postcode
- The date and rough timings
Every quote is put together for your event. Give us your date and numbers, and we’ll check availability at the same time.
Planning for every diet
Mixed diets are straightforward to plan for, because options can be kept separate. Here are a few tips for planning:
- Plan the taco bar around speeches and timings
- Tell us about coeliac guests specifically
- Pick the spot for the taco bar in advance
- Ask guests about diets and allergies on the RSVP
We get there early enough to unload, lay out the table and heat everything through.
Ask us whether a second station would help with big numbers.
Popular choices
Vegan fillings
Vegan guests get a proper filling of their own.
Hot fillings
You might choose two or three fillings, including a vegan one. You choose them with us.
Longlane: your questions answered
Do you cater in villages like Longlane?
Yes, we cater in villages and hamlets as well as towns. Let us know about access and parking for the truck or trailer.
How far is Longlane from London?
It’s about 51 miles from central London, and inside the area we cover.
How far ahead should we book?
As soon as you have a date. Peak dates go quickly, so it pays to ask early.
Can you run a bar?
Yes, we do. Our drinks bar can be booked on its own or with food. For alcohol, we will check the licensing with you and your venue.
Can you come to a private house?
Yes, if the truck or trailer can get in and park on level, firm ground. Send us a picture of the access and the space, and we’ll tell you honestly whether it works.
How big an event can you cater?
It depends on the menu and how long service runs, but around 50 to 400 guests is the usual range. For anything outside that, ask us.
Do you bring plates and cutlery?
That’s confirmed with each quote. Let us know what the venue supplies and we’ll talk it through.
Do you come to Longlane?
Yes. We cater across London and the South East, including Longlane and the rest of West Berkshire. For a quote, use our quote form.
Taco bar hire or something else?
Plated meals depend on a kitchen and a team of waiting staff. For a taco bar, we need a serving spot, a nearby place to unload and the venue’s permission, and power and water are confirmed with each booking. Access and travel can make a difference to the cost, so it helps to tell us about your venue. The full price is confirmed in your quote.
