Taco bar hire in Oare, served fresh

Add burrito bowls, loaded nachos or quesadillas if you’d like more choice. Our drinks bar can be booked with it too. On the menu are a build-your-own taco bar, fresh salsas and pickled onions and toppings, and it is a good fit for engagement parties and evening receptions.

Somewhere as small as Oare, a garden, barn or hall can host a taco bar. If the truck can’t get close, we can set the station up nearer your guests, though we still need to unload within a short walk. Everything is prepared fresh for your event and served from our truck or trailer, so guests get it at its best.

How it compares

Compared with a hog roast or carvery, a taco bar handles vegan, gluten-free and dairy-free guests without separate plates. When you compare quotes, check what each one includes: serving hours, staff, disposables, travel and VAT. Our quote sets out what’s included.

Why us?

  • Tacos, burritos and a drinks bar
  • Allergen-aware menus
  • Access, space and power checked in advance
  • Options for vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free and dairy-free guests

Dietary needs and planning tips

Most events have a mix of diets. To plan for them:

  • Give us separate numbers for children
  • Flag any guest with coeliac disease
  • Include a dietary question on your invitations
  • Decide where the table goes before the day

We warm tortillas in batches and keep the fillings hot, so the bar stays fresh from the first plate to the last.

Our drinks bar can sit alongside the taco bar for margaritas, Mexican beer and aguas frescas.

DIY taco night versus a caterer

If you do it yourself, work out quantities first: our guide to how many tacos per person helps. Keep warmed tortillas covered, and label anything containing allergens.

Plenty of people try a DIY taco night at home. Common snags are cold tortillas, uneven quantities and the host missing the party. If you’d rather enjoy the party, let us serve.

Prices and what affects them

These are the factors that matter most:

  • Adding food to drinks, or drinks to food
  • How many guests we are serving
  • Whether you need disposables
  • Staff for serving and the bar

Access and travel can make a difference to the cost, so it helps to tell us about your venue. Your quote confirms the full price.

What to tell us

When you contact us, it helps to tell us:

  • The address or venue name
  • Whether you’d like food, drinks or both
  • Any dietary needs and allergies
  • Approximate guest numbers, including children

Every event is quoted individually, based on what you need. For a quote, send a quick message through our quote form.

Oare: venues, access and set-up

Oare is about 4 miles north of Thatcham, in West Berkshire. From the centre of Oare to the outskirts, taco bar hire works the same way: fresh service from our food truck or trailer, every diet planned for and a clear quote. Oare is one of 155 towns and villages in West Berkshire we cover. Our nearest city page is Reading, about 13 miles away.

For guests coming by train, Newbury Racecourse station is about 4.7 miles away. When the service is at a church such as Church of St Bartholomew, the taco bar would be set up at the reception venue rather than the church. With the North Wessex Downs National Landscape about 5 miles away at most, a countryside taco bar is an option from Oare. Rural venues may limit vehicles, so ask where we can park and unload.

Wherever your event is in RG18, we can bring taco bar hire to you, from busy streets to quiet lanes. Streets in the area include Manor Lane and Old Street, and an event on any of them can work if the truck or trailer can park nearby. Nearby, we also cater events in Little Hungerford (1 mile south-east), Hermitage (1 mile south), Wellhouse (1 mile south-east), Longlane (1 mile south) and Curridge (2 miles south-west). Further out, we also cater in Newbury (5 miles south-west), Thatcham (4 miles south), Burghfield Common (10 miles south-east), Speenhamland (5 miles south-west), Hungerford (11 miles west) and Spencers Wood (14 miles east).

Other landmarks nearby include Hampstead Norris Castle (1.8 miles north-east) and West Berkshire Community Hospital (4 miles south). Not far away are Snelsmore Common.

  • Local pubs include The White Horse pub (0.8 miles south)

  • Team socials
  • Evening wedding receptions
  • Anniversary parties
  • Family celebrations

Close to Oare are historic houses such as Shaw House (4 miles south-west). Estates and listed houses set their own rules for caterers, so check where a taco bar station and our vehicle would be permitted before booking.

  • When final numbers are due

If you run the same event each year, tell us your dates early, so we can plan ahead.

Questions from Oare

Can you bring a truck or trailer to venues in the North Wessex Downs National Landscape?

Yes, though some venues in protected landscapes have extra rules; ask your venue. We will follow the site rules.

Could you serve our guests after a service at Church of St Bartholomew?

Yes. The church itself is not where we’d set up, but a hall, field or garden close by with room for the truck or trailer can work well. Let us know the reception address and we will check the access.

Which areas do you serve?

London and the South East: Greater London, Kent and Medway, Surrey, East Sussex, West Sussex, Hampshire, the Isle of Wight, Berkshire, Buckinghamshire and Oxfordshire, including Oare.

Can you do dairy-free food?

Yes, on request. Let us know your dairy-free numbers, and we’ll include them in the plan.

How much does taco bar hire cost in Oare?

It depends on guest numbers, the menu, the length of service and the location. Contact us for a quote.

Do you need power and water?

It depends on the event and the set-up, so we confirm power and water arrangements with each booking. Let us know whether there’s a supply near where we will park.

Is a taco bar good for vegans and gluten-free guests?

Fillings and toppings sit in separate dishes, which helps with mixed diets, but we can’t promise an allergen-free kitchen. Guests with severe allergies should talk to us first.

Do you have vegan options?

Yes, and we plan them in from the start. Tell us your numbers when you ask for a quote, and we’ll keep their options separate.

The process

A typical event goes like this: we park up and get ready, service opens at the agreed time, and we serve your guests fresh until service ends. Planning an evening taco bar in Oare? Sunset is around 8:55pm in late May, 9:25pm at midsummer and 7:10pm in late September. After dusk, lights over the station help guests build their tacos.

  1. Contact us with your date and headcount.
  2. We plan fillings and toppings around your guests’ diets.
  3. Nearer the date, we confirm timings and the serving spot.
  4. Service starts when your running order says.
  5. We clear our station when service ends.

Before we arrive

  • Give us your final numbers and diets
  • Have level hardstanding or firm ground ready
  • Have a marquee or gazebo ready in case of rain
