Catering for every guest

Allergies and diets are taken seriously. Here’s how you can help:

  • Tell us how many children are coming
  • Ask guests with severe allergies to contact us before the day
  • Put allergies in writing for us
  • Collect dietary needs with your replies

Indoors or under cover, the bar carries on whatever the weather, so plan somewhere sheltered if you can.

Add burrito bowls for guests who’d rather skip tortillas.

Taco bars for events around Matchams

Matchams is in Hampshire. Events in Matchams are planned around your venue and timings: a quote, a plan and friendly service on the day. Matchams is one of 683 places in Hampshire where we can bring taco bar hire. You can also see our page for Southampton, about 20 miles away.

Around Matchams, historic houses include Avon Tyrrell House (3.6 miles east). Historic venues often limit where vehicles can go, so ask whether a taco bar station could be set up inside while our food truck or trailer parks further off. Check with yours where a taco bar station and our food truck or trailer could go.

Here we cover the BH24 postcode area, so your event can be anywhere in it. Local streets include Maple Walk, Ash Tree Close and Sycamore Way; for an event at home on any of them, tell us where the truck or trailer can park. If your venue is just outside Matchams, we also cover Avon Castle (1 mile north-east), St Ives (1 mile north), St Leonards (1 mile north-west) and Ashley Heath (2 miles north-west). DIY taco night or a caterer?

You can host your own taco night for a crowd, but it takes planning. There are fillings to slow-cook, tortillas to keep warm and salsas to make. Read our guide to taco bars.

If you do it yourself, work out quantities first: see how many tacos per person. Keep tortillas warm in a covered basket, and label anything containing allergens.

Who books taco bar hire in Matchams?

Guests choose exactly what goes on their plate, so there are fewer special requests.

We can help if you are planning any of the following:

  • Leaving and retirement parties
  • Garden parties
  • Team lunches
  • Company parties

Parks such as Avon Heath Country Park normally need the owner’s agreement for catering, even without a truck on the grass, so ask before you plan.

FAQs for Matchams

Can you bring your truck or trailer to Avon Heath Country Park?

It depends on the park’s owner, who would need to agree to a catering vehicle on site. Ask them first; if they say yes, we’ll send what they need from us.

Do you come out to small places like Matchams?

Yes, we cater in villages and hamlets as well as towns. Let us know about access and parking for the truck or trailer.

How much is a taco bar?

We do not publish set prices, as each booking is different. Share your plans and you will get a quote. Our guide to Mexican catering costs may help.

How long are you on site?

That depends on your event and menu. Timings are agreed in advance so everything fits your schedule.

Can you do dairy-free food?

Yes, we can. Tell us how many guests need dairy-free food, and we’ll include them in the plan.

What guest numbers do you cater for?

It depends on the event and the timings. As a guide, our bookings normally fall around 50 to 400 guests.

Do you bring plates and cutlery?

We confirm that with your quote. Let us know what the venue supplies and we’ll talk it through.

Can you serve in the rain?

We can serve from the hatch in the rain. Plan cover for guests, such as a marquee or gazebo, and let us know if the ground gets soft after heavy rain.

Taco bar hire or something else?

Compared with a hog roast or carvery, a taco bar handles vegan, gluten-free and dairy-free guests without separate plates. The cost per head can fall as numbers rise, since the set-up is much the same either way. Give us your numbers and we’ll quote.

Why us?

  • Options for gluten-free, dairy-free, vegetarian and vegan guests
  • Served fresh from our food truck or trailer
  • Fast service, even with a queue
  • Tacos, burritos and a drinks bar

  • A clear area in front of the station
  • Somewhere close by for our vehicle to park and unload

Not sure about your space? Send us a picture and we’ll tell you honestly.

How it works

It is a relaxed, well-organised set-up. Arrival and serving times are agreed beforehand, set up our food truck or trailer, and serve without fuss. Around midsummer it stays light in Matchams until about 9:25pm; by late September sunset is nearer 7:10pm, so an outdoor taco bar in summer is normally served in daylight. For winter events, dark by about 4:05pm, plan good lighting over the station.

  1. Begin with the date and headcount.
  2. We plan fillings and toppings around your guests’ diets.
  3. We fix timings with you and the venue.
  4. Service starts when your running order says.
  5. Once service is over, we pack away.
