How our taco bar hire works in St Leonards

The bar can stand beside our food truck or trailer, or on its own. If the truck can’t get to the spot, we park close by, unload and carry the bar in, as long as the venue agrees. For engagement and anniversary parties and company parties, we can serve burrito bowls, a build-your-own taco bar and fresh salsas.

For a place the size of St Leonards, a garden or a hall nearby can suit a taco bar. We set up and run the station, and guests choose their own fillings and toppings. Tell us where we can park and unload. Everything is prepared fresh for your event and served from our truck or trailer.

We will agree the spot with you before the day. It needs to meet a few simple requirements:

  • Space beside the truck or trailer if you’re booking both
  • Space for a line of guests at the bar
  • The venue’s agreement for the taco bar and our vehicle

If in doubt, send us a picture of the spot and the access, and we’ll advise.

Menu ideas

  • Vegan fillings
  • Corn and flour tortillas
  • Salsas and guacamole
  • Tortilla chips
  • Two to four fillings
  • Pickled onions and toppings

Planners, venues and businesses

Wedding planners and venue coordinators are welcome to contact us directly, and we will keep you updated on timings and set-up.

For big numbers, we plan service to keep queues short, so everyone is served promptly. Let us know how long the break is.

Is taco bar hire right for your event?

Plated meals depend on a kitchen and a team of waiting staff. A taco bar needs a serving spot, somewhere close to unload and the venue’s agreement, and power and water are confirmed with each booking. Your choice of food and drinks affects the price, so tell us what you have in mind. We will suggest options to suit your budget.

Why us?

Why choose taco bar hire in St Leonards?

It feels relaxed without being scruffy, because our staff keep the bar tidy and topped up.

A truck or trailer works for big and small events alike. Typical bookings include:

  • Wedding meals
  • Christenings and family parties
  • Retirement parties
  • Staff parties

If you are celebrating after a service at a church like All Saints, a hall close by could host a staffed taco bar, with the venue’s permission.

How to compare caterers

St Leonards: your questions answered

Do you come to events in the New Forest National Park?

We do, where the venue allows a catering vehicle. Lanes can be narrow and ground soft, so tell us how we’d get in.

Can you bring your truck or trailer to Avon Heath Country Park?

It depends on the park’s owner, who would need to agree to a catering vehicle on site. Ask them first; if they say yes, we will send what they need from us.

Can you run a bar?

Yes, we run a Mexican drinks bar, serving margaritas, Mexican beer, aguas frescas such as hibiscus and horchata, and soft drinks. Alcohol at an event may need a licence, such as a premises licence or a Temporary Event Notice, so we will talk licensing through with you.

What guest numbers do you cater for?

That depends on your timings and the event. Most bookings fall around 50 to 400 guests, so tell us your numbers.

Do you cater for vegetarian guests?

Yes, they’re part of the planning from the start. Tell us your numbers when you ask for a quote.

Can you do gluten-free food?

Yes, gluten-free options are available, using corn tortillas. Tell us about any coeliac guests before the event so we can talk through how their food is prepared.

Is the taco bar staffed?

We set up and stay to keep the bar hot and stocked.

What does a taco bar cost?

There is no price list, because no two events are the same. Send us your details and we will quote for your event. See what Mexican catering costs for background.

How it works

Serving is quick: guests are served at the hatch or a serving station, so even a long queue moves. When service ends, we pack down. Evenings in St Leonards stay light until about 9:25pm in June, but by late September sunset is around 7:10pm. After dusk, lights over the station help guests build their tacos.

  1. Send us the date, venue and numbers.
  2. Together we choose what goes on the bar.
  3. We confirm the table spot and where we will unload.
  4. Our staff set out the bar and guests build their own tacos.
  5. When everyone has eaten, we pack up.

Before we arrive

  • Let us know who to talk to on the day
  • Tell us what power and water the site has
  • Get the venue’s permission for us to park and serve

A build-your-own taco bar in St Leonards

St Leonards is in Hampshire. Wherever your event is in the BH24 area, we can serve your guests. We cater in all 683 towns and villages across Hampshire. You can also see our page for Southampton, about 21 miles away.

Before you plan a taco bar in Avon Heath Country Park, find out who manages it, as catering and unloading there both need their agreement. St Leonards is within about 7 miles of the New Forest National Park, with barns and country venues that could host a taco bar. Where vehicles cannot reach the room, the station can be set up there with the venue’s agreement, but we still need to unload close by.

We serve at events all over BH24. Streets in the area include Cedar Avenue, Birch Close and Malmesbury Road, and an event on any of them can work if the truck or trailer can park nearby. Other places close to St Leonards for taco bar hire include Ashley Heath (1 mile north), St Ives (1 mile north-east), Matchams (1 mile south-east) and Avon Castle (2 miles east). Within a short drive, we also cover Lymington (14 miles east), New Milton (10 miles south-east), Ringwood (3 miles north-east), Barton on Sea (10 miles south-east), Ashley (10 miles south-east) and Milford on Sea (13 miles south-east).

What affects the price in St Leonards

Two events with the same number of guests can cost different amounts, depending on:

  • Your choice of food and drinks
  • The length of service
  • Plates, napkins and cutlery
  • Guest numbers

Larger events can cost less per head, since the set-up is much the same either way. Give us your numbers and we will quote.

What we need to know

To check availability and price, we need:

  • What power and water the site has
  • The venue or postcode
  • Any dietary needs and allergies
  • What you’d like on the menu

Every event is quoted individually, so the price fits what you actually want. For a quote, tell us about it on our contact page.

Should I do it myself?

A DIY taco night is possible for a crowd, but it’s more work than it looks. Fillings need slow cooking, tortillas need warming as you go, and salsas need making. Our taco bar guide explains how.

Running your own drinks table is one option, but someone still has to mix, pour and keep an eye on it all evening. Our margarita bar guide has tips.

Catering for every guest

Most events have a mix of diets. To cater well for them:

  • Ask guests about diets and allergies on the RSVP
  • Flag any guest with coeliac disease
  • Decide where the table goes before the day
  • Make sure one filling is vegan

Staff stay at the taco bar to refill bowls and answer questions about fillings and allergens.

Ask us whether a second station would help with big numbers, quoted for your event.

  • Served from our truck or trailer at your venue, garden or event
  • Vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free and dairy-free options, with allergen information
  • Tacos and taco bars, burritos, bowls, nachos and quesadillas
  • Mexican drinks bar: margaritas, Mexican beer and aguas frescas
