How our taco bar hire works in Sway

The taco bar works for a wedding breakfast, a party or a working lunch. Guests build their plates quickly, so a crowd moves through steadily, and nobody waits long. Popular choices include guacamole, warm corn and flour tortillas and pickled onions and toppings, and it suits leaving dos and family get-togethers.

Around Sway, a taco bar can stand beside our truck on a drive or lawn. If the truck cannot reach the garden, we park as close as we can and set the station up where your guests are. We cater for gluten-free, dairy-free, vegetarian and vegan guests, with allergen information for everything we serve.

How the day works

The truck or trailer needs a level, firm spot with access to drive in, and we agree power and water arrangements before the day. A picture of the space helps. Around midsummer it stays light in Sway until about 9:25pm; by late September sunset is nearer 7:10pm, so a summer taco bar outside normally runs in daylight. For winter events, dark by about 4:05pm, plan good lighting over the station.

  1. Tell us the date, the venue, how many guests and any diets.
  2. You get a suggested taco-bar spread and a quote.
  3. Together we fix the spot for the taco bar and a nearby place for our vehicle.
  4. Our staff set up the station, keep the fillings hot and top up the bar through service.
  5. After the last tacos, we clear the station away.

Preparing for the day

  • Choose a level, firm spot for the truck or trailer
  • Check gates and access routes are wide and high enough
  • Find out what power and water are available

Sway: your questions answered

Could you serve our guests after a service at St Luke's Church?

Yes. The church itself isn’t where we’d set up, but a hall, field or garden close by with room for the truck or trailer can work well. Let us know the reception address and we will check the access.

What’s the nearest station to Sway for guests?

Sway has its own station: Sway station.

Do you stay to run the taco bar?

Our staff set up the bar, keep the fillings hot and top up the dishes through service.

What guest numbers do you cater for?

Truck and trailer service normally suits around 50 to 400 guests, and smaller parties are quoted case by case. Tell us your numbers and we’ll plan the bar around them.

How far ahead should we book?

As soon as you have a date. Popular dates go first, so contact us early.

Do you have vegan options?

Yes, they’re part of the planning from the start. Let us know how many vegetarian and vegan guests to expect.

Do you take everything away?

Our area is packed away and left tidy. Tell us the venue’s rules on waste and clearing up and we’ll talk it through.

What should the venue provide?

Tell us about the venue and the spot you have in mind, and we’ll confirm what’s needed. The venue’s agreement is needed too.

Planning for every diet

We cater for gluten-free, dairy-free, vegetarian and vegan guests. To get it right:

  • Include a vegan filling on the bar
  • Agree the serving spot with your venue early
  • Ask guests about diets and allergies on the RSVP
  • Set out seating near the bar

We warm tortillas in batches and keep the fillings hot, so the bar stays fresh from the first plate to the last.

Book the truck or trailer for evening food after a daytime taco bar.

Why choose taco bar hire in Sway?

Everyone builds a plate that suits them.

We can help if you’re planning any of the following:

  • Company parties
  • Family celebrations
  • Wedding day food
  • Summer garden parties

By rail: Sway has its own station, Sway station.

Questions to ask before you book

  • The deadline for final numbers
  • Who provides plates and napkins
  • The caterer’s food hygiene rating
  • When payment is due

Choosing a Mexican caterer

DIY taco night or a caterer?

Doing it yourself? Start with the quantities: our guide to how many tacos per person helps. Keep tortillas warm in a covered basket, and label dishes for guests with allergies.

Plenty of people try a DIY taco night at home. Common snags are cold tortillas, uneven quantities and the host missing the party. If you’d rather be with your guests, we’ll do the serving.

How we price taco bar hire

Each event is quoted on its own, and the price depends on a few things:

  • What’s on the menu
  • How many staff you need
  • Distance and access to the venue
  • Whether you add a drinks bar or food

Extras, such as more dishes, extra drinks or a longer service, are quoted on request, so you can choose what you need.

What to tell us

You don’t need everything decided to ask for a quote, but these help:

  • Approximate guest numbers, including children
  • Whether you’d like food, drinks or both
  • The date and time of the event
  • The venue or postcode

Getting a quote is simple: tell us the date, place, numbers and any dietary needs. We’ll send you a clear quote and a suggested menu.

Taco bar hire in Sway: local tips

Sway is about 3 miles north-west of Lymington, in Hampshire. Give us the address of your event in Sway, and we’ll plan the journey and set-up. Sway is one of 683 places in Hampshire we cover. Our nearest city page is Southampton, about 13 miles away.

After a christening or wedding at a church such as St Luke's Church, a taco bar at a hall or garden nearby lets guests build their own tacos. The New Forest National Park is within about 3 miles of Sway, with barns and country venues that could host a taco bar. Where vehicles can’t reach the room, the station can be set up there with the venue’s agreement, but we still need to unload close by. Coastal events near Sway, within about 4 miles of the sea, bring wind into the planning. Tell us where the taco bar would go and where we can park to unload.

Anywhere in SO41, we can bring the truck or trailer to your guests. Before you choose a spot

Before the day, we’ll agree where we park and serve. A good spot ticks these boxes:

  • A spot next to the truck or trailer when both are booked
  • Somewhere close by for our vehicle to park and unload
  • A flat spot for the taco-bar station

If in doubt, send us a picture of the spot and the access, and we will advise before booking.

Menu ideas

  • Tortilla chips
  • Corn and flour tortillas
  • Vegan fillings
