Wedding Mexican catering for Puckaster events

Space, access and the venue

Before the day, we will agree where we park and serve. It needs to meet a few simple requirements:

  • Details of power and water on site, agreed when you book
  • Clear vehicle access: gate widths, height limits and the ground checked before the day
  • A sensible distance from buildings and neighbours

Puckaster is a more remote spot, so tell us early and we’ll plan the journey and access for the truck or trailer.

If in doubt, send us a picture of the spot and the access, and we will advise.

About our wedding Mexican catering in Puckaster

The truck or trailer adds a splash of colour to the day, and guests enjoy seeing their food served fresh. It suits garden and marquee weddings and weddings with lots of dietary needs, serving loaded nachos, fresh guacamole and salsas and a taco bar for the wedding breakfast.

A wedding in a small place like Puckaster often means a field, a barn or a family garden. That’s where a food truck comes into its own: no venue kitchen needed, just level, firm ground and a way in. Let us know about access, ground, power and water. We serve from the hatch of our truck or trailer, or from a serving station, and we plan the service around your numbers.

Your questions about wedding Mexican catering in Puckaster

Do you come out to small places like Puckaster?

Yes. Villages and hamlets are part of our area, and the main thing is access: tell us about the lane, the gate and the ground.

Can you cater a reception after a service at Church of St. John the Baptist?

Yes. The church itself isn’t where we’d set up, but a hall, field or garden close by with room for the truck or trailer can work well. Let us know the reception address and we will check the access.

What if the photos overrun?

We adapt. We keep in touch with your venue on the day and move the serving time if needed.

When do you arrive?

We arrive in good time to set up before service. The length of service is agreed when you book.

Can you serve drinks at our wedding?

Yes, we have a drinks bar, with margaritas, Mexican beer and aguas frescas. Alcohol needs the right licence, so we’ll check that with you.

Do you provide allergen information for each dish?

We plan allergen-aware menus, including for nut allergies, and give allergen information for every dish. We plan carefully and keep options separate, though we can’t promise a dish is allergen-free. If a guest has a severe allergy, please talk to us before the event.

Do you need electricity?

Let us know what’s available on site, such as a supply from the venue near where we will park, and we will confirm what we need with your quote.

Do you provide drinks?

Yes, we run a Mexican drinks bar, serving margaritas, Mexican beer, aguas frescas such as hibiscus and horchata, and soft drinks. Alcohol at an event may need a licence, such as a premises licence or a Temporary Event Notice, so we’ll check the licensing with you.

What affects the price in Puckaster

The price comes down to a few factors:

  • Your choice of food and drinks
  • Timings and hours
  • What the venue already provides
  • How many guests we are serving

Pricing depends on the event. A simple party menu and a full wedding day are very different jobs. Your quote sets it all out.

What we need to know

You do not need everything decided to ask for a quote, but these help:

  • The address or venue name
  • Your date and when you want service to start
  • Whether you’d like food, drinks or both
  • Vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, dairy-free and allergy numbers

Send us the date, your venue or PO38 postcode and guest numbers, plus any dietary needs, and we will reply with a menu suggestion and a quote. Just send us your details through our quote form.

Catering for every guest

Dietary needs are easy to plan for with a little notice. Our advice:

  • Check the venue’s rules for outside caterers and vehicles
  • Enquire early for summer Saturdays
  • Count day and evening guests separately
  • Add a dietary question to your RSVP cards

We serve evening food when the running order says, such as after the cake is cut.

Extra salsas and toppings make the taco bar look generous.

How the day works

When we arrive, we park the truck or trailer in the agreed spot and set up. Service starts at the time we’ve agreed, so everything runs to your schedule. A winter wedding in Puckaster gets dark early, at about 4:00pm in December, so the evening food will be served after dark. Festoon lights by the truck help guests see the menu.

  1. You send us your wedding date, venue, numbers and how you see the day.
  2. You get a suggested wedding menu and a quote to match.
  3. We confirm access, the serving spot and the running order with the venue.
  4. On the day, we set up and serve on cue, around speeches and photos.
  5. Once service is done, we pack away quietly.

Getting ready for the day

  • Find out what power and water are available
  • Tell us about narrow gates or low branches
  • Pick a flat, firm spot for us to park

Can I do a taco night myself?

Running your own drinks table is one option, but someone still has to mix, pour and keep an eye on it all evening. See our margarita bar guide.

A DIY taco night is possible for a crowd, but it’s more work than it looks. There are fillings to slow-cook, tortillas to keep warm and salsas to make. Our taco bar guide explains how.
