Food truck hire in Bedham

About our food truck hire in Bedham

When you hire our food truck, it serves your guests and nobody else. Unlike a stall at a festival or market, it is a private hire, so the menu and timings are set around your event. At staff summer parties and leaving dos and retirements, we can serve burrito bowls, fresh salsas and guacamole and vegan tacos and more.

In a hamlet or village like Bedham, our truck or trailer can serve a private party or a team day in a field or garden. Guests order at the hatch, so plan a sheltered spot for the queue in case of rain. We turn up ready to serve, and tidy our own area afterwards.

Food truck hire in Bedham: local tips

Bedham is about 6 miles south-west of Billingshurst, in West Sussex. From the centre of Bedham to the outskirts, we offer the same service: fresh service from our truck or trailer, every diet planned for and a clear quote. We serve in 371 places in West Sussex, from the larger towns to small villages, wherever the truck or trailer can get in. Our truck and trailer cover the area from Bedham to Chichester (13 miles away).

Rail travellers will be glad to hear that Pulborough station is about 2.1 miles away. Guests leaving a church like The Parish Church of St Mary could walk or drive to a nearby garden or hall where the truck is ready. Bedham is within about 5 miles of the South Downs National Park, with country venues and gardens where a hired food truck could serve. Some venues in protected landscapes have rules on vehicles, so check with yours.

Wherever your event is in RH20, we can bring the truck or trailer to your guests, from busy streets to quiet lanes. Local streets include Bedham Lane, Upper Street and Stretch Hill; for an event at home on any of them, tell us where the truck or trailer can park. If your venue is just outside Bedham, we also cover Fittleworth (1 mile south), Lower Horncroft (1 mile south), Coates (1 mile south-west), Pickhurst (2 miles east) and Hardham (2 miles south-east). Larger places within reach include Horsham (12 miles north-east), Worthing (12 miles south-east), Bognor Regis (14 miles south-west), Chichester (13 miles south-west), Littlehampton (11 miles south) and Lancing (14 miles south-east).

A little further out are Coates Castle (1.9 miles south-west) and Coultershaw Heritage Site (2.5 miles west). Not far away are The Mens and Bignor Hill.

  • Local pubs include The Swan Hotel (0.9 miles south)

How it compares

Most guests have seen a burger van. Tacos and burritos from a truck feel different while staying easy to eat. Extras, such as more dishes, extra drinks or a longer service, are quoted on request, so you choose what goes in.

Why book with us

  • Events in Bedham and across West Sussex
  • A menu agreed with you
  • Tacos, burritos and a drinks bar
  • Fast service, even with a queue

Read how we price or what Mexican catering costs.

Prices and what affects them

Every event is priced individually, and the price depends on a few things:

  • Whether you add a drinks bar or food
  • What’s on the menu
  • Travel, parking and access
  • Plates, napkins and cutlery

The price depends on guest numbers, the menu and how long you’d like us to serve, plus any add-ons and the location. We quote for each event individually.

What to tell us

When you contact us, it helps to tell us:

  • Access for the truck or trailer, including gates and ground
  • Whether you’d like food, drinks or both
  • A picture of the space, if it is a garden or field
  • Where the event is

Still deciding on the menu? No problem: tell us about the occasion and the guests, and we’ll suggest a menu. To start, send us your details through our quote form.

The process

We arrive in good time before service, then set up and prepare everything. When service opens, guests come up to the hatch or serving table. At midsummer, it stays light in Bedham until about 9:20pm, while late September brings sunset forward to around 7:05pm. In December it is dark by about 4:00pm, so the queue by the hatch needs lighting.

  1. Ask us whether your date is available.
  2. You get a menu for the hatch and a quote.
  3. The spot and the way in are agreed in advance.
  4. On the day, guests order at the hatch and we cook to order.
  5. We pack down and drive away when service ends.

How to prepare

  • Let us know the timings for the day
  • Measure any gates or arches on the way in
  • Confirm the venue allows outside caterers

Ask for a quote

It is easy to get a price: share your date, venue, numbers and diets. We will come back with a clear quote and a suggested menu.

Planning help

Bedham: your questions answered

Can you bring a truck or trailer to venues in the South Downs National Park?

We do, where the venue allows a catering vehicle. Lanes can be narrow and ground soft, so tell us how we’d get in.

How far is Bedham from London?

Roughly 42 miles from the centre of London, and well within our area.

What do you need at the venue?

Access and level ground matter most: a firm spot for the truck or trailer, room for a queue and, for a taco bar, space for a serving table. Send us a picture and tell us about gates, slopes and soft ground.

Can you plan for allergies?

Yes. Tell us about allergies when you book. UK law requires caterers to provide information on 14 allergens, and we do that for every dish (Food Standards Agency guidance). For severe allergies, please talk to us first.

Is the food made fresh?

Fillings are slow-cooked in advance, then finished and kept hot on site. Tortillas are warmed on site, and salsas and guacamole are made fresh.

Do you have vegan options?

Yes, and we plan them in from the start. Let us know how many vegetarian and vegan guests to expect.

Can we hire the truck for our wedding?

A food truck suits a relaxed wedding well, especially in the evening. We agree access and timings with the venue.

How much is food truck hire?

There’s no fixed price list, as every booking is different. Tell us your plans and we will quote for your event. Our food truck hire guide explains what affects the cost.

DIY taco night versus a caterer

A DIY taco night is possible for a crowd, but it’s more work than it looks. There are fillings to slow-cook, tortillas to keep warm and salsas to make. Our taco bar guide explains how.

If you do it yourself, work out quantities first: our guide to how many tacos per person helps. Keep warmed tortillas covered, and label anything containing allergens.

Dietary needs and planning tips

A little planning makes sure everyone can eat. Try these:

  • Put anyone with a severe allergy in touch with us
  • Check early that your venue allows food trucks
  • Count children separately
  • Ask about parking rules if we will be on a road

The hatch opens at the time you choose, and we cook each order as it comes.

A taco-bar station can sit next to the truck for a wedding breakfast or lunch.

Perfect for your event in Bedham

The truck becomes the place guests gather.

Big or small, a truck or trailer works well. Typical bookings include:

  • Anniversary celebrations
  • Staff summer parties
  • Client events and product launches
  • Parties in venue grounds

Historic houses near Bedham include Old Place Manor (2.2 miles east) and Petworth House (2.5 miles north-west). Listed venues often control where vehicles go, so raise food truck hire at your first visit.

What your quote should include

  • How long the service runs
  • How late numbers can change
  • How each diet is kept separate
  • A food hygiene rating you can check

Everything is served from our truck or trailer, so where we park matters. Here’s what we look for:

  • Room for guests to gather at the hatch
  • Level, solid ground for the vehicle

If you’re unsure, send a picture of the space and the way in, and we will say what we think before booking.

Organising for someone else?

If you are organising for someone else, such as a wedding planner, an office manager or a festival organiser, we are happy to deal with you and the venue directly. It saves passing messages back and forth.

For larger events, we plan serving points around your timings, so guests are looked after quickly. Let us know how long the break is.
