About our food truck hire in The Valley

Food truck hire suits weddings, milestone birthdays and staff events. At weddings and winter staff parties, we will put together a menu of quesadillas, fresh salsas and guacamole and tacos from the hatch and more.

In a rural place like The Valley, access is the main thing to plan for a hired truck: the gate, the ground and the distance from the lane. Power and water may be limited, so we confirm the arrangements before the day. Food and drinks can be booked together or separately, so the food and drinks can come from one caterer.

FAQs for The Valley

Is The Valley close to London?

It is about 42 miles from central London, and inside the area we cover.

What’s the nearest station to The Valley for guests?

Charing station, about 3.2 miles south of the centre.

Do you give allergen information?

Yes, and it helps to hear about allergies when you book. Under UK rules, caterers must give information on 14 allergens, and we do that for every dish (Food Standards Agency guidance). For severe allergies, please talk to us first.

How much space do you need?

Level, firm ground or hardstanding for the truck or trailer, and a route in it can fit through, plus the venue’s permission. Power and water arrangements are confirmed with each booking.

Do you have dairy-free options?

We can. We offer dairy-free options, and we’ll tell you which dishes contain milk.

How long are you on site?

That depends on your event and menu. We agree arrival, service and pack-down times with you so everything fits your schedule.

Can you keep it mild?

The food can be kept mild, with hotter salsas on the side for anyone who wants more heat.

What space does the truck need?

A firm, level spot, a way in that fits the vehicle, and the venue’s agreement. Power and water are confirmed with each booking.

Choosing a Mexican caterer

The process

On the day, we position the truck or trailer and get the serving area ready. Service starts at the time we have agreed, so everything runs to your schedule. By late September, it’s dark in The Valley at around 7:00pm, so a later service will need some lighting. In late May, daylight lasts until about 8:45pm.

  1. Tell us what the event is and who’s coming.
  2. Together we plan dishes that cover your guests’ diets.
  3. We check power, water and timings with the venue.
  4. The truck serves at the agreed times.
  5. When everyone is fed, we clear our area.

Before we arrive

  • Share the running order, including any speeches
  • Confirm numbers and diets before the day
  • Let us know who to talk to on the day

Planning help

Food truck hire or something else?

Burger and pizza vans are familiar. A Mexican food truck offers something less expected while staying easy to eat. There’s no one-size-fits-all price for food truck hire. A short lunch service for a team is a different job from a full wedding day. Your quote sets it all out.

What you get with us

  • Food and drinks from one caterer, if you want both
  • Menus chosen with you
  • Quoted for your event
  • We cover The Valley and the whole of Kent

See our prices page and our guide to catering costs.

Catering for every guest

We cater for gluten-free, dairy-free, vegetarian and vegan guests. To get it right:

  • Check early that your venue allows food trucks
  • Agree service times with us
  • Ask guests about dietary needs when they reply
  • Measure gates and look for low branches on the way in

Guests come to the hatch, order and wait a short moment for hot food.

Ask us about evening food later on.

Prices and what affects them

Each event is quoted on its own, and the price depends on a few things:

  • The menu you choose
  • How many guests we’re serving
  • Food, drinks or both
  • Distance and access to the venue

Cost depends on guest numbers, the menu and the length of service, along with extras and where your event is. We quote for each event individually.

What we need to know

To check availability and price, we need:

  • Approximate guest numbers, including children
  • What power and water the site has
  • Diets and allergies you know about
  • Access for the truck or trailer, including gates and ground

The quickest way to a quote is to use our quote form. Give us the details of your event, and we will put together a menu and price.

Should I do it myself?

A DIY taco night works well for a small group. For larger numbers, mixed diets or a wedding, a caterer takes the pressure off, with allergen information for every dish.

Doing it yourself? Start with the quantities: see how many tacos per person. Keep warmed tortillas covered, and label anything containing allergens.

  • Served from our truck or trailer at your venue, garden or event
  • Vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free and dairy-free options, with allergen information
  • Tacos and taco bars, burritos, bowls, nachos and quesadillas
  • Mexican drinks bar: margaritas, Mexican beer and aguas frescas
