Home Farm questions

Can you cater a reception after a service at St Michael and St Mary Magdalene's Church?

Yes. The church itself is not where we’d set up, but a hall, field or garden close by with room for the truck or trailer can work well. Let us know the reception address and we will check the access.

How far is Home Farm from central London?

It’s about 31 miles from central London, and inside the area we cover.

Do you give allergen information?

Yes, and it helps to hear about allergies when you book. Under UK rules, caterers must give information on 14 allergens, and we give it for every dish (Food Standards Agency guidance). Anyone with a severe allergy should speak to us before the event.

Where do you cater?

London and South East England: Greater London, Kent, Surrey, East and West Sussex, Hampshire, the Isle of Wight, Berkshire, Buckinghamshire, Milton Keynes and Oxfordshire, including Home Farm.

How big an event can you cater?

It depends on the menu and how long service runs, but around 50 to 400 guests is the usual range. Tell us your numbers and we’ll advise.

Will someone run the bar?

Bar staff are part of the service.

How spicy is the food?

The food can be kept mild, with hotter salsas on the side for anyone who wants more heat.

Do you cater for coeliacs?

Yes, with corn tortillas. Corn tortillas are naturally gluten-free, but some fillings, sauces and toppings may not be, so we plan gluten-free dishes carefully and give allergen information.

How the day works

Here’s how the day usually runs: we park up and get ready, service opens at the agreed time, and we serve your guests fresh for the agreed time. A summer drinks reception in Home Farm has daylight until about 9:25pm at midsummer, ideal for drinks outdoors. By late September, sunset is about 7:05pm, and in December it’s dark by about 3:55pm, so plan lighting around the bar.

  1. Tell us your date, venue and numbers.
  2. We talk licensing through with you.
  3. We agree a drinks menu.
  4. Our bar staff serve your guests at the agreed times.
  5. We pack down when the bar closes.

How to prepare

  • Tell us about narrow gates or low branches
  • Let us know the timings for the day
  • Plan a covered area for guests if rain is likely

Ask for a quote

Prices and what affects them

We quote for your event, which reflects:

  • Adding food to drinks, or drinks to food
  • Whether you need disposables
  • How many staff you need
  • The number of people

Got a budget? Let us know, and we’ll suggest a menu to match. A simple menu can still feel generous.

What to tell us

To check availability and price, we need:

  • Gate widths, slopes and the ground
  • Roughly how many adults and children
  • A picture of where we’d park
  • The address or venue name

Getting a quote is simple: tell us the date, place, numbers and any dietary needs. We’ll come back with a clear quote and a suggested menu.

Can I do a taco night myself?

You can host your own taco night for a crowd, but it takes planning. Fillings need slow cooking, tortillas need warming as you go, and salsas need making. Read our guide to taco bars.

For a small group, a taco night at home can work well. For big numbers or lots of diets, a caterer makes life easier, and handles allergen information for you.

How it compares

Bring-your-own is simple but uneven. A staffed bar means everyone is served. Pricing depends on the event. A short lunch service for a team is a different job from a full wedding day. Your quote sets it all out.

What you get with us

Planning drinks for every guest

A few tips to help the bar run smoothly:

  • Tell us when the bar should open and close
  • Check allergies with guests, including for drinks

  • Give the council notice in good time for a Temporary Event Notice

Our bar staff serve throughout the agreed hours, and keep the bar tidy.

  • Vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free and dairy-free options, with allergen information
