Planning an event in Hurst Wickham?

How our Mexican bar hire works in Hurst Wickham

A Mexican drinks bar brings margaritas, Mexican beer and aguas frescas to your event, served by our bar staff. It works on its own or alongside our food. At garden get-togethers and fairs and community events, we will put together a menu of aguas frescas, margaritas and horchata.

In a rural spot like Hurst Wickham, drinks can be served from our food truck or trailer in a garden, field or by a marquee, as long as we can get in. We’ll talk licensing through with you. Timings are planned around your event, whether that is speeches, a lunch break or a festival schedule.

Is Mexican bar hire right for your event?

Leaving guests to bring their own is easy but unpredictable. A staffed bar means everyone is served, including non-drinkers. Your choice of food and drinks affects the price, so share your ideas with us. Tell us your budget and we will suggest a menu.

Why us?

  • Food and drinks from one caterer, if you want both
  • Quick, friendly service from the hatch
  • Everything served fresh from the hatch
  • A clear quote

Hurst Wickham: your questions answered

How far is Hurst Wickham from central London?

Roughly 39 miles from the centre of London.

Could you serve our guests after a service at Church of St George?

Yes, at a nearby garden, marquee or hall with access for the truck or trailer. Service would be at the reception venue, not the church. Tell us where the reception will be.

Can you serve in the rain?

The truck or trailer can serve in the rain, but your guests will want somewhere covered, like a marquee or gazebo.

Is there a minimum number of guests?

Our truck and trailer service usually suits events of around 50 to 400 guests. Smaller parties are quoted case by case, and festivals can be larger. Tell us your numbers.

Do you have alcohol-free drinks?

Every bar has alcohol-free choices, from aguas frescas to soft drinks.

Who clears up?

Our area is packed away and left tidy. Tell us the venue’s rules on waste and clearing up and we’ll confirm the arrangements with your quote.

How soon do we need to book?

Early, particularly for summer Saturdays. Even if it is short notice, it’s worth asking.

Is the food very hot?

We can keep it mild, with hotter salsas on the side for anyone who wants more heat.

What we need at the venue

The route in matters as much as the spot itself. We need:

  • Room for a queue
  • Level, firm ground for the bar set-up
  • Details of power and water on site

Not sure about your space? Send us a photo and we’ll tell you honestly before you book.

Popular choices

  • Soft drinks

  • Fruit aguas frescas
  • Horchata

How it works

It is a relaxed, well-organised set-up. Arrival and serving times are agreed beforehand, get the serving area ready, and get on with serving. Winter receptions in Hurst Wickham are dark by about 3:55pm in December, so plan where guests will gather, and how it will be lit. At midsummer, by contrast, sunset is around 9:20pm.

  1. Send us your date, venue, numbers and drinks ideas.
  2. Together we check how alcohol will be licensed at your event.
  3. You get a suggested drinks menu and a quote.
  4. We arrive, set up and serve margaritas, Mexican beer and aguas frescas.
  5. After service, we clear the bar away.

Planning help

Planning drinks for every guest

To get the most from the bar, it helps to:

  • Pair the bar with hot food
  • Collect allergy details in advance
  • Plan alcohol-free drinks for drivers
  • Think about how guests get home

If timings change, tell us and we will adjust.

A choice of soft drinks.

Planners, venues and businesses

If you are planning an event on someone’s behalf, such as a wedding planner, an office manager or a festival organiser, we’ll work directly with you and the venue. It saves passing messages back and forth.

Events in public spaces, like parks, generally need permission. We’ll provide the information the landowner or council asks for from us.

Prices and what affects them

The same guest numbers can mean different prices, because of:

  • How long we are needed on site
  • What the venue already provides
  • The number of people
  • Food, drinks or both

Extras, such as more dishes, extra drinks or a longer service, are quoted on request, so you choose what goes in.

Details that help

Good planning starts with a few facts. Please include:

  • Your date and when you want service to start
  • Access for the truck or trailer, including gates and ground
  • Your menu ideas
  • A picture of the space, if it is a garden or field

Each quote is tailored to your event. Give us your date and numbers, and we’ll confirm whether we are available that day.

Should I do it myself?

You can host your own taco night for a crowd, but it takes planning. There are fillings to slow-cook, tortillas to keep warm and salsas to make. Read our guide to taco bars.

For a small group, a taco night at home can work well. For larger numbers, mixed diets or a wedding, a caterer takes the pressure off, and handles allergen information for you.

  • Served from our truck or trailer at your venue, garden or event
  • Vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free and dairy-free options, with allergen information
  • Tacos and taco bars, burritos, bowls, nachos and quesadillas
  • Mexican drinks bar: margaritas, Mexican beer and aguas frescas
