Plenty of people try a DIY taco night at home. The usual problems are cold tortillas, running out of a popular filling and a host stuck at the stove. If you’d rather be with your guests, we’ll do the serving.

Taco bar hire in Burley Street, from our truck or trailer

Our taco bar travels to events across Burley Street and the surrounding area: from barns and marquees to gardens, halls and offices. On the menu are warm corn and flour tortillas, pickled onions and toppings and fresh salsas, and it is a good fit for family get-togethers and barn and marquee parties.

In a small place like Burley Street, a taco bar might go in a garden, a barn or a nearby hall. If the truck can’t get close, we can set the station up nearer your guests, as long as we can unload within a short walk. We plan the timings around your day, so service starts when you want it.

Salsas

Fresh salsas, from a mild tomato salsa to something hotter.

Hot fillings

Slow-cooked fillings kept hot on the bar, perhaps chicken tinga, birria or carnitas.

Comparing your options

A taco bar and a truck serve the same food in different ways. From the truck, we put each order together; at the taco bar, guests do the building. Catering from a truck or trailer can be a practical alternative to a sit-down meal, as there is no kitchen to hire. Contact us for a quote to compare.

Questions from Burley Street

Will you travel to a small place like Burley Street?

Yes. Villages and hamlets are part of our area, and the main thing is access: tell us about the lane, the gate and the ground.

Do you cater in the New Forest National Park?

We do, where the venue allows a catering vehicle. Lanes can be narrow and ground soft, so tell us how we’d get in.

Who looks after the taco bar?

The taco bar is served from a table or station by our staff, so you don’t need helpers. We pack it away afterwards.

Do you cover Burley Street?

Yes, we do. Burley Street is one of the places we cover. Send us your date to check availability.

Can you keep it mild?

It’s up to you: we can keep it mild and put the hotter salsas on the side.

When should we book?

As soon as you have a date. Peak dates go quickly, so contact us early.

Do you have options for kids?

Yes, children are welcome. Tell us how many and roughly how old, and we’ll suggest mild options.

How is the food prepared?

Food is cooked to order in our truck or trailer, or served from a build-your-own taco bar. Slow-cooked fillings are prepared in advance and kept hot on site.

Planning the serving area

Many gardens, fields and venues can take a truck or trailer, but a few things matter:

  • Permission from the venue for us to set up
  • A flat spot for the taco-bar station
  • A clear area in front of the station

If you’re unsure, send a picture of the space and the way in, and we’ll say what we think before booking.

Popular choices

  • Tortilla chips
  • Corn and flour tortillas
  • Two to four fillings
  • Pickled onions and toppings
  • Salsas and guacamole
  • Vegan fillings

How it works

We get there well before you want to serve, set up the truck or trailer and get everything ready. When service opens, guests come up to the hatch or serving table. Evenings in Burley Street stay light until about 9:25pm in June, but by late September sunset is around 7:10pm. After dusk, lights over the station help guests build their tacos.

  1. Tell us the date, the venue, how many guests and any diets.
  2. We plan the fillings and toppings with you and quote for them.
  3. We agree where the table goes and where our vehicle can unload.
  4. We set out warm tortillas, hot fillings, salsas and toppings, and guests help themselves.
  5. When service finishes, we clear the table and pack the vehicle.

Before we arrive

  • Choose a level, firm spot for the truck or trailer
  • Send us final numbers and dietary needs in good time
  • Ask the venue about power and water

Why choose taco bar hire in Burley Street?

A taco bar feeds a crowd steadily, which suits a wedding breakfast or a lunch break.

A truck or trailer works for big and small events alike. Typical bookings include:

  • Evening wedding receptions
  • Back-garden gatherings
  • Leaving dos
  • Barn and marquee parties

When the service is at a church such as Burley Street Mission Hall, the taco bar would be set up at the reception venue rather than the church.
