Taco bar hire in East Cowes

Taco bar hire in East Cowes, from our truck or trailer

We run the taco bar ourselves: keeping the fillings hot, warming tortillas and topping up the bowls. Nobody from your side needs to lift a spoon. At wedding breakfasts and company parties, we’ll put together a menu of slow-cooked fillings kept hot, burrito bowls and a build-your-own taco bar.

In a smaller place like East Cowes, a taco bar in your garden or a local hall keeps things simple. Our staff set up the station and guests build their own tacos. Tell us where we can park and unload. Guests are served from our truck or trailer, or from a serving table nearby, and we plan service so the queue keeps moving.

East Cowes: your questions answered

Could you serve our guests after a service at St James's Church?

Yes, at a garden, field or venue nearby where the truck or trailer can park. Service would be at the reception venue, not the church. Tell us where the reception will be.

Can you serve near the sea around East Cowes?

We can, given firm ground and the landowner’s permission. Beaches and promenades generally need the council’s agreement, so check that first.

Do you cover East Cowes?

Yes. We cover London and the South East, including East Cowes. For a quote, send us your details through our quote form.

How much is a taco bar?

Every taco bar is quoted for individually, based on numbers, fillings, the venue and timings. Contact us for a quote.

Do you need power and water?

That depends on the set-up, and we agree power and water with you before the day. Let us know whether there’s a supply near where we will park.

What access do you need?

Level, firm ground or hardstanding for the truck or trailer, and a route in it can fit through, and the venue’s agreement. Power and water arrangements are confirmed with each booking.

Can you do gluten-free food?

Yes, gluten-free options are available, made with corn tortillas. Tell us about any coeliac guests before the event so we can explain how we prepare their food. See are corn tortillas gluten-free?

How big an event can you cater?

That depends on the menu and the service time, but around 50 to 400 guests is the usual range. Tell us your numbers and we will advise.

What happens on the day

When service finishes, we pack down and clear our own area. We agree set-up and pack-down times with you and your venue. Around midsummer it stays light in East Cowes until about 9:20pm; by late September sunset is nearer 7:10pm, so a summer taco bar outside normally runs in daylight. For winter events, dark by about 4:00pm, plan good lighting over the station.

  1. Contact us with your date and headcount.
  2. We plan fillings and toppings around your guests’ diets.
  3. Nearer the date, we confirm timings and the serving spot.
  4. The bar opens at the agreed time.
  5. We clear our station when service ends.

Preparing for the day

Can I do a taco night myself?

A DIY taco night works well for a small group. For larger numbers, mixed diets or a wedding, a caterer takes the pressure off, and handles allergen information for you.

Some hosts like to do it themselves. The usual problems are cold tortillas, running out of a popular filling and a host stuck at the stove. If you’d rather enjoy the party, let us serve.

About the menu

Toppings

Lime, coriander, pickled onions, cheese and crema.

Warm tortillas

Tortillas are the base of the bar. We warm them as the bar needs them.

Where the truck can go in East Cowes

Many gardens, fields and venues can take a truck or trailer, but there are a few things to check:

  • A level area for the taco-bar table
  • Power and water, which we confirm when you book
  • Room for guests to queue along the table

East Cowes is a more remote spot, so tell us early and we’ll plan the journey and access for the truck or trailer.

If you are unsure, send a picture of the space and the way in, and we will say what we think before you book.

How it compares

Compared with a hog roast or carvery, a taco bar handles vegan, gluten-free and dairy-free guests without separate plates. If you have a budget in mind, tell us, and we’ll suggest a menu that fits. Even a simple menu can feel generous.

Why us?

  • Every guest catered for, gluten-free, dairy-free, vegetarian and vegan included
  • Quoted for your event
  • Allergen information for everything we serve
  • Tacos, burritos and a drinks bar

What taco bar hire costs

Here’s what makes the biggest difference to the price:

  • Parking and the route in
  • The length of service
  • How many staff you need
  • What’s on the menu

A food truck can be a practical alternative to plated catering, as there is no kitchen to hire. Contact us for a quote to compare.

Getting an accurate quote

To speed things up, tell us:

  • Your date and when you want service to start
  • What you’d like on the menu
  • The address or venue name
  • Gate widths, slopes and the ground

Planning a taco bar in East Cowes

East Cowes is about 4 miles north of Newport, in the Isle of Wight. Give us the address of your event in East Cowes, and we’ll plan the journey and set-up. We cover all 125 towns and villages in the Isle of Wight. Our nearest city page is Portsmouth, about 10 miles away.

Nearby historic houses include Osborne House (0.6 miles east) and Carisbrooke Castle (4.8 miles south). Historic venues often limit where vehicles can go, so ask whether a taco bar station could be set up inside while our food truck or trailer parks further off. After a christening or wedding at a church such as St James's Church, a taco bar at a hall or garden nearby lets guests build their own tacos. East Cowes is within about a mile of the sea, so for a seaside taco bar we plan around the wind. A sheltered spot for the station helps, and seafront sites normally need permission.

This part of the Isle of Wight takes in PO32. Local streets include Connaught Road, Orchard Road and Princess Close; for an event at home on any of them, tell us where the truck or trailer can park.
