Our taco bar hire in the Isle of Wight
A taco bar puts the whole spread on one table: warm tortillas, hot fillings, salsas, guacamole and toppings. Guests pick up a plate and build their own. We serve pickled onions and toppings, slow-cooked fillings kept hot and warm corn and flour tortillas, and it suits team lunches and wedding day food.
Your timings come first. If things run behind, let us know and we’ll adjust where we can.
- Begin with the date and headcount.
- We plan fillings and toppings around your guests’ diets.
- We fix timings with you and the venue.
- The bar opens at the agreed time.
- Once service is over, we pack away.

Landmarks near Newport
Around Newport, we can cater at gardens, homes and venues near Castle Inn, The Man in the Moon and Seaclose Park, among other places. Nearby too are Christ The King College (0.6 miles south-west), Island Innovation VI Form Campus (less than half a mile south-east) and Nine Acres Primary School (within half a mile south). Well-known places in the area include Carisbrooke Castle (1 mile south-west) and St Mary's Hospital (0.8 miles north). For a walk before or after the party, there is Briddlesford Nature Reserve and Mill Hill.
Planning a taco bar in the Isle of Wight
There are 3 towns and 102 villages and hamlets in the Isle of Wight, and a taco bar can work in a hall in Newport, Ryde and Cowes or a village garden, given the venue’s permission. In towns, plan where we unload; in villages, tell us about lanes and ground. Around 116 places in the Isle of Wight are close to the coast, so we often plan around the wind at coastal events, and seafront spots need permission and firm ground for the truck or trailer.
Newport: Guests leaving a church like The Man in the Moon could head to a nearby hall or garden where the taco bar is ready. The A3020 and A3054 run on or near Newport, which makes the journey with the taco bar an easy one. Around midsummer it stays light in Newport until about 9:20pm; by late September sunset is nearer 7:10pm, so an outdoor taco bar in summer is typically served in daylight. For winter events, dark by about 4:00pm, plan good lighting over the station.
Organising for someone else?
Wedding planners and venue coordinators are welcome to contact us directly, and we’ll keep everyone informed on the day.
Hosting a party at home? Send a picture of the space and tell us about access, and we will tell you honestly whether a truck or trailer will fit.
Catering for every guest
Most events have a mix of diets. To cater well for them:
- Choose at least one vegan filling
- Confirm a loading spot close to the bar
- Put allergies in writing for us
- Plan the taco bar around speeches and timings
Each dish is labelled, and allergen information is kept at the bar.
For larger groups, ask about a second serving point.
Can I do a taco night myself?
If you do it yourself, work out quantities first: see how many tacos per person. Keep warmed tortillas covered, and label anything containing allergens.
A DIY taco night works well for a small group. For larger numbers, mixed diets or a wedding, a caterer takes the pressure off, with allergen information for every dish.
About the menu
Guacamole
Guacamole made fresh, with lime and coriander.
Salsas
A row of salsas, mild to hot.
Planning the serving area
Plenty of outdoor spaces and venues work for us, but there are a few things to check:
- A spot next to the truck or trailer when both are booked
- Details of power and water near the bar
- A clear area in front of the station
The Isle of Wight questions
What’s on the menu?
Every menu is agreed with you. Fillings might include slow-cooked pork carnitas, chicken tinga, beef birria and vegan options such as spiced mushrooms or black beans. See our menu for ideas.
What areas do you cover?
We cover London and the South East, including the Isle of Wight. See all areas.
Can you cater for vegetarians and vegans?
Yes, they’re part of the planning from the start. Let us know how many vegetarian and vegan guests to expect.
When should we book?
As soon as you have a date. Peak dates go quickly, so it pays to ask early.
Is the food made fresh?
We cook to order in our food truck or trailer kitchen, or serve from a taco bar. Fillings are slow-cooked beforehand and finished on site.
How much is a food truck for an event?
Every event is quoted individually, so the price fits what you want. Give us your date, numbers and menu ideas and we’ll reply with a quote.
Can you plan for allergies?
Our menus are planned with allergies in mind, nut allergies included, with allergen information for every dish. We keep options separate, but we cannot promise anything is completely allergen-free. Guests with severe allergies should talk to us before the event.
