Taco bar hire in The City

About our taco bar hire in The City

You choose the fillings with us, perhaps carnitas, chicken tinga or birria, plus a vegan choice such as spiced mushroom or black bean and sweet potato. For marquee parties and wedding day food, we can serve guacamole, a build-your-own taco bar and slow-cooked fillings kept hot.

In a hamlet or village like The City, a barn or marquee can shelter a taco bar from the weather. Our staff set up the station and run it through service. Food and drinks can be booked together or separately, so one caterer can cover more of the day.

How we price taco bar hire

We quote for your event, which reflects:

  • What’s on the menu
  • The number of people
  • Distance and access to the venue
  • Plates, napkins and cutlery

Access, parking and the distance to your venue can affect the price, so tell us about the venue when you ask for a quote. Your quote confirms the full price.

What we need to know

These details help us quote quickly:

  • A picture of where we’d park
  • The address or venue name
  • Approximate guest numbers, including children
  • Your menu ideas

To get a price, just use our quote form. Give us the details of your event, and we’ll put together a menu and price.

Is taco bar hire right for your event?

A plated wedding breakfast needs a kitchen, waiting staff and fixed courses. A taco bar needs a serving spot, somewhere close to unload and the venue’s agreement, and power and water are confirmed with each booking. Extra dishes, drinks and longer service are priced on request, so you choose what goes in.

What we offer in The City

  • Tacos, burritos and a drinks bar
  • Menus chosen with you
  • Access, space and power checked in advance
  • Catering across Buckinghamshire, including The City

See our prices page or our guide to catering costs.

What we need at the venue

Plenty of outdoor spaces and venues work for us, but a few things matter:

  • Details of power and water near the bar
  • Space for a line of guests at the bar
  • Space for a serving table on level ground

If in doubt, send us a picture of the spot and the access, and we’ll advise.

Popular choices

  • Pickled onions and toppings
  • Vegan fillings
  • Salsas and guacamole
  • Two to four fillings
  • Corn and flour tortillas
  • Tortilla chips

Taco bar hire in The City: local tips

The City is about 5 miles north-west of High Wycombe, in Buckinghamshire. For taco bar hire in The City, we can park up at venues, fields, drives and courtyards. The City is one of 263 towns and villages in Buckinghamshire we cover.

After a christening or wedding at a church such as Church of St Paul, a taco bar at a hall or garden nearby lets guests build their own tacos. Guests arriving without a car will want to know that the nearest station is Saunderton station, about 1.8 miles north-east. The Chilterns National Landscape is within about 2 miles of The City, with barns and country venues that could host a taco bar. Where vehicles cannot reach the room, the station can be set up there with the venue’s agreement, but we still need to unload close by.

Wherever your event is in HP14, we can bring the truck or trailer to your guests. From Bottle Square Lane, Radnage Common Road and Green Lane or a nearby road, we’ll plan where to park and serve. Close by, we cover events in Waterend (1 mile west), Beacon's Bottom (1 mile south-west), Radnage (1 mile north), Bennett End (1 mile north-west) and Green End (1 mile south-east). Larger places within reach include Aylesbury (11 miles north), High Wycombe (5 miles south-east), Chesham (11 miles east), Marlow (7 miles south-east), Amersham (11 miles east) and Beaconsfield (10 miles east).

Well-known places in the area include West Wycombe Rural (1.6 miles south-east) and Wycombe Hospital (5 miles south-east). The countryside around The City includes Yoesden and Bald Hill.

  • Pubs nearby include The Crown pub (0.5 miles north-west)

Planning for every diet

A little planning makes sure everyone can eat. Try these:

  • Include a vegan filling on the bar
  • Tell us when guests should eat
  • Ask guests about diets and allergies on the RSVP
  • Tell us how many children are coming

If the schedule slips, tell us and we will hold everything hot until you are ready.

Ask us whether a second station would help with big numbers, quoted for your event.

How it works

The truck or trailer tends to draw a crowd, so we’ll help you choose a spot with room for a queue. We can serve in the rain, but guests will need somewhere covered. In The City, the sun sets at about 9:25pm in late June and about 7:05pm in late September, so a summer taco bar outside normally runs in daylight. In December it is dark by about 3:55pm, so guests will need light to see the fillings and toppings.

  1. Tell us the date, the venue, how many guests and any diets.
  2. We suggest fillings, salsas and toppings for the bar and send a quote.
  3. Before the day, we confirm the serving spot, unloading, power and water with the venue.
  4. Our staff set up the station, keep the fillings hot and top up the bar through service.
  5. Once guests have eaten, we take down the bar and leave the spot tidy.

How to prepare

  • Check gates and access routes are wide and high enough
  • Give us your final numbers and diets
  • Tell us what power and water the site has

DIY taco night versus a caterer

DIY catering keeps costs down, but the host spends the party serving. Booking a caterer means you can relax with everyone else.

A DIY taco night works well for a small group. For big numbers or lots of diets, a caterer makes life easier, with allergen information for every dish.

FAQs for The City

Do you come out to small places like The City?

Yes. Villages and hamlets are part of our area, and the main thing is access: tell us about the lane, the gate and the ground.

We are having a ceremony at Church of St Paul: can you cater afterwards?

Yes, at a garden, field or venue nearby where the truck or trailer can park. We’d serve at the reception venue rather than at the church itself. Tell us where the reception will be.

How does a taco bar work?

We set out warm tortillas, hot fillings, salsas, guacamole and toppings on a serving table, and each guest builds their own. Our staff keep it hot and topped up.

What happens if it rains?

We can serve from the hatch in the rain. Plan cover for guests, such as a marquee or gazebo, and tell us if heavy rain could make the ground soft.

Do you cater in The City?

Yes, we do. The City is one of the places we cover. Tell us your date and we will check availability.

What guest numbers do you cater for?

That depends on your timings and the event. As a guide, our bookings normally fall around 50 to 400 guests, so tell us your numbers.

How many guests can you serve?

It depends on the menu and how long service runs, but our truck and trailer service typically suits around 50 to 400 guests. Tell us your numbers and we will advise.

Can you keep it mild?

It’s up to you: we can keep the main dishes mild, with hotter salsas served separately.
