Taco bar hire for your event in Abbotsford

Our truck and trailer service normally suits around 50 to 400 guests, while smaller parties are quoted case by case. Tell us your numbers and we will plan the taco bar around them. At team socials and wedding meals, we can serve fresh salsas, a build-your-own taco bar and burrito bowls.

In a small place like Abbotsford, a taco bar might go in a garden, a barn or a nearby hall. If the truck cannot get close, we can set the station up nearer your guests, as long as we can unload within a short walk. We arrive ready to serve, and clear our own area when service is finished.

What taco bar hire costs

The same guest numbers can mean different prices, because of:

  • Distance and access to the venue
  • Staff for serving and the bar
  • How many guests we’re serving
  • What’s on the menu

The price depends on guest numbers, the menu and how long you’d like us to serve, plus any add-ons and the location. Every event gets its own quote.

What we need to know

For a quote, it helps to have:

  • Your date and when you want service to start
  • How we drive in and where we can park
  • Expected numbers
  • What power and water the site has

Still deciding on the menu? No problem: tell us about the occasion and the guests, and we will make suggestions. To start, use our quote form.

How it works

Guests tend to gather around the truck, so we plan a spot with space for people to queue. Rain does not usually stop us serving, though guests will want somewhere covered to stand or sit. A December taco bar in Abbotsford will be in the dark from about 3:55pm, so an indoor spot or a well-lit station works best. In late June, the light holds until around 9:20pm.

  1. Contact us with your date and headcount.
  2. We plan fillings and toppings around your guests’ diets.
  3. We fix timings with you and the venue.
  4. Service starts when your running order says.
  5. We clear our station when service ends.

Before we arrive

  • Let us know the timings for the day
  • Choose a level, firm spot for the truck or trailer
  • Give us a contact for the day

Who books taco bar hire in Abbotsford?

A full taco bar looks inviting: salsas, guacamole and toppings laid out together.

A truck or trailer works for big and small events alike. Common bookings include:

  • Marquee parties
  • Summer garden parties
  • Leaving and retirement parties
  • Office lunches

When the service is at a church such as St Edward the Confessor, the taco bar would be set up at the reception venue rather than the church.

DIY taco night or a caterer?

You can host your own taco night for a crowd, but it takes planning. Fillings need slow cooking, tortillas need warming as you go, and salsas need making. Our taco bar guide explains how.

DIY catering keeps costs down, but the host spends the party serving. Booking a caterer means you can relax with everyone else.

Questions from Abbotsford

We’re having a ceremony at St Edward the Confessor: can you cater afterwards?

Yes, at a garden, field or venue nearby where the truck or trailer can park. Service would be at the reception venue, not the church. Send us the reception address.

What’s the nearest station to Abbotsford for guests?

Guests can use Wivelsfield station, about 1.2 miles south-east of Abbotsford.

Can you do gluten-free food?

Yes, we offer gluten-free options, using corn tortillas. Tell us about any coeliac guests before the event so we can explain how we prepare their food.

Can you serve in the rain?

The truck or trailer can serve in the rain, but your guests will want somewhere covered, such as a marquee, gazebo or nearby building.

How soon do we need to book?

As early as you can, especially for summer weekends. Even if it’s short notice, it’s worth asking.

When do you arrive?

We arrive in good time to set up before service. The length of service is agreed when you book, along with pack-down.

Is the food very hot?

The food can be kept mild, with hotter salsas on the side for anyone who wants more heat.

What access do you need?

The main things are access and a level spot: a firm spot for the truck or trailer, room for a queue and, for a taco bar, space for a serving table. Send us a picture and tell us about gates, slopes and soft ground.

Before you choose a spot

The route in matters as much as the spot itself. We look for:

  • Power and water arrangements, confirmed with each booking
  • Space beside the truck or trailer if you’re booking both
  • A clear area in front of the station

If you are unsure, send a photo of the space and the way in, and we will say what we think.
