How our taco bar hire works in America Ground
We run the taco bar ourselves: keeping the fillings hot, warming tortillas and topping up the bowls. Your hosts can stay with their guests. On the menu are pickled onions and toppings, guacamole and fresh salsas, which works well for family celebrations and team lunches.
Near America Ground, a hall or club may suit a taco bar if your own space is tight; we need the venue’s permission, a level spot and somewhere to unload. Guests are served from our food truck or trailer, or from a serving table nearby, and we plan the service around your numbers.

Taco bar hire in America Ground: local tips
America Ground is about 1 mile east of St Leonards, in East Sussex. We serve at events in gardens, halls and venues around America Ground and nearby villages. America Ground is one of 289 towns and villages in East Sussex where we can bring taco bar hire. Our nearest city page is Royal Tunbridge Wells, about 24 miles away.
If you’re celebrating after a service at a church like Holy Trinity Church, a hall close by could host a staffed taco bar, with the venue’s permission. Before you plan a taco bar in Linton Gardens, find out who manages it, as catering and unloading there both need their agreement. America Ground is within about a mile of the sea, so for a seaside taco bar we plan around the wind. A sheltered spot for the station helps, and seafront sites generally need permission.

Planning the serving area

- A flat spot for the taco-bar station
If in doubt, send us a picture of the spot and the access, and we will advise.

What happens on the day
Guests tend to gather around the truck, so we plan a spot with space for people to queue. We can serve in the rain, but guests will need somewhere covered. A December taco bar in America Ground will be in the dark from about 3:55pm, so an indoor spot or a well-lit station works best. At midsummer, by contrast, daylight lasts until about 9:15pm.
- Begin with the date and headcount.
- We plan fillings and toppings around your guests’ diets.
- Nearer the date, we confirm timings and the serving spot.
- Service starts when your running order says.
- Once service is over, we pack away.
Preparing for the day
- Arrange somewhere covered for guests to eat
- Pick a flat, firm spot for us to park
- Check gates and access routes are wide and high enough

Common questions in America Ground
Is it possible to have you in Linton Gardens?
Only if the landowner, often the council, allows it. Check with them, and we’ll provide what they ask for from us.
We are having a ceremony at Holy Trinity Church: can you cater afterwards?
Yes. The church itself isn’t where we’d set up, but a hall, field or garden close by with room for the truck or trailer can work well. Let us know the reception address and we’ll check the access.
Does the taco bar need the truck on site?
It can go beside the truck or trailer, or somewhere a vehicle cannot reach. Either way, we need to unload nearby and have the venue’s permission.
How is the food prepared?
We cook to order in our food truck or trailer kitchen, or serve from a taco bar. Slow-cooked fillings are prepared in advance and kept hot on site.
Do you stay to run the taco bar?
Our staff set up the bar, keep the fillings hot and top up the dishes.
How much does taco bar hire cost?
We do not publish set prices, as each booking is different. Share your plans and you’ll get a quote. Our guide to Mexican catering costs may help.
Is the food suitable for children?
Of course. Mild dishes, quesadillas and nachos can be part of the menu. Include children in your numbers.
Is there a minimum number of guests?
Our truck and trailer service normally suits events of around 50 to 400 guests. Smaller parties are quoted case by case, and festivals can be larger. Send us your numbers and we will advise.
Dietary needs and planning tips
Nearly every event has some special diets. To cater well for them:
- Ensure guests have somewhere to sit
- Decide where the table goes before the day
- Tell us how many children are coming
- Make sure one filling is vegan
Fillings are kept hot and tortillas warmed in batches, so the bar stays fresh from the first plate to the last.
Loaded nachos make a good starter while the bar is set up.
Should I do it myself?
Plenty of people try a DIY taco night at home. The usual problems are cold tortillas, running out of a popular filling and a host stuck at the stove. If you’d rather be with your guests, we’ll do the serving.
If you do it yourself, work out quantities first: see how many tacos per person. Keep tortillas warm in a covered basket, and label anything containing allergens.
