Planning for every diet

Mixed diets are straightforward to plan for, because options can be kept separate. A few tips:

  • Ensure one filling is vegan
  • Make sure guests have somewhere to sit
  • Tell us when guests should eat
  • Have anyone with a severe allergy speak to us first

Indoors or under cover, the bar carries on whatever the weather, so plan somewhere sheltered if you can.

Add burrito bowls for guests who’d rather skip tortillas.

Taco bar hire in Old Town, served fresh

Taco bars suit wedding breakfasts, parties and office lunches alike. Building your own is quick, which keeps the line moving, and nobody waits long. It works well for garden parties and team socials, with pickled onions and toppings, burrito bowls and guacamole.

For a place the size of Old Town, a garden or a hall nearby can suit a taco bar. We set up and run the station, and guests choose their own fillings and toppings. Tell us where we can park and unload. We cater for vegan, vegetarian, dairy-free and gluten-free guests, and we give allergen information for every dish.

Old Town questions

Can you bring a truck or trailer to venues in the South Downs National Park?

Yes. Some venues there have rules about vehicles, ground and catering, so check with yours. Tell us about narrow lanes and soft ground.

We’re having a ceremony at Church of St Mary: can you cater afterwards?

Yes. The church itself isn’t where we’d set up, but a hall, field or garden close by with room for the truck or trailer can work well. Let us know the reception address and we’ll check the access.

What areas do you cover?

We cover London and the South East, East Sussex included. See all areas.

Can you do dairy-free food?

We can. We offer dairy-free options, and we’ll tell you which dishes contain milk.

When do you arrive?

We arrive in good time to set up before service. Serving times are agreed with you in advance.

Is the food made fresh?

We cook to order in our truck or trailer kitchen, or serve from a taco bar. Fillings are slow-cooked beforehand and finished on site.

How do you handle dietary needs at the taco bar?

Fillings and toppings sit in separate dishes, which helps with mixed diets, but we cannot promise an allergen-free kitchen. Anyone with a severe allergy should speak to us before the event.

Do you cater for coeliacs?

Yes, with corn tortillas. Corn tortillas are naturally gluten-free, but some fillings, sauces and toppings may not be, so we check every dish and give allergen information.

Taco bar hire or something else?

For a meal that’s hands-on for guests but not for you, a taco bar is a strong choice for your event. Catering from a truck or trailer can be a practical alternative to a sit-down meal, because it needs no venue kitchen. Contact us for a quote to compare.

What you get with us

  • A menu built around your guests
  • We cover Old Town and the whole of East Sussex
  • Book food, drinks or both
  • Access, space and power checked in advance

Take a look at our prices page or what Mexican catering costs.

Can I do a taco night myself?

Not sure whether to do it yourself or book a caterer? Think about numbers, diets and how much you want to enjoy the day. Contact us for a quote to compare.

Doing it yourself saves money, but the host ends up in the kitchen. Booking a caterer means you can relax with everyone else.

What affects the price in Old Town

Pricing is straightforward once we know the basics:

  • Guest numbers
  • Travel, parking and access
  • How many staff you need
  • Timings and hours

There’s no one-size-fits-all price for taco bar hire. A simple party menu and a full wedding day are very different jobs. Your quote sets it all out.

These details help us quote quickly:

  • Roughly how many adults and children
  • Where the event is
  • What you’d like on the menu
  • The date and time of the event

The menu, item by item

Warm tortillas

Tortillas are the base of the bar. We keep a steady supply going through service.

Hot fillings

You might choose two or three fillings, with at least one vegan. We agree them with you.

The process

Once service is over, we pack down and clear our own area. Set-up and pack-down times are agreed with you and the venue. A December taco bar in Old Town will be in the dark from about 3:55pm, so set the station up where the lighting is good. In late June, the light holds until around 9:15pm.

  1. Begin with the date and headcount.
  2. We plan fillings and toppings around your guests’ diets.
  3. Nearer the date, we confirm timings and the serving spot.
  4. The bar opens at the agreed time.
  5. We clear our station when service ends.
