Planning an event in Jevington?

About our taco bar hire in Jevington

Our staff set up the taco bar and look after it through service: keeping the fillings hot, warming tortillas and topping up the bowls. Nobody from your side needs to lift a spoon. It works well for back-garden gatherings and wedding breakfasts, serving guacamole, a build-your-own taco bar and fresh salsas.

In a hamlet or village like Jevington, a barn or marquee can shelter a taco bar from the weather. Our staff set up the station and run it through service. Everything is prepared fresh for your event and served from our truck or trailer, so guests get it at its best.

What’s on the menu

Hot fillings

You might choose two or three fillings, with at least one vegan. We agree them with you.

Warm tortillas

Soft corn and flour tortillas, kept warm so there is always one ready. The corn ones suit gluten-free guests.

Is taco bar hire right for your event?

A taco bar and a truck serve the same food in different ways. From the truck, we put each order together; at the taco bar, guests do the building. Cost depends on guest numbers, the menu and the length of service, along with extras and where your event is. Every event gets its own quote.

  • How bad weather is handled
  • Plates and napkins, or nothing at all
  • What the caterer needs from your venue

How to compare caterers

DIY taco night versus a caterer

For a small group, a taco night at home can work well. For larger numbers, mixed diets or a wedding, a caterer takes the pressure off, and handles allergen information for you.

A DIY taco night is possible for a crowd, but it is more work than it looks. Fillings need slow cooking, tortillas need warming as you go, and salsas need making. Our taco bar guide explains how.

Organising for someone else?

Booking for a company? Tell us what your finance team needs, and we’ll explain how it works. We are happy to liaise with facilities on access and timings.

If you are organising for someone else, whether you’re a planner, an office manager or an event organiser, we are happy to deal with you and the venue directly. It saves passing messages back and forth.

Diets, allergies and planning

Good planning keeps every guest safe and happy. Try these:

  • Decide where the table goes before the day
  • Tell us about coeliac guests specifically
  • Ensure one filling is vegan
  • Fit the bar into your running order

Indoors or under cover, the bar carries on whatever the weather.

Our food truck or trailer can serve later in the day, after the taco bar.

Prices and what affects them

These are the factors that matter most:

  • How long we are needed on site
  • Adding food to drinks, or drinks to food
  • Guest numbers
  • Serving staff

There is no one-size-fits-all price for taco bar hire. A short lunch service for a team is a different job from a full wedding day. Your quote sets it all out.

Details that help

For a quote, it helps to have:

  • What you’d like on the menu
  • The venue or postcode
  • The date and time of the event
  • What power and water the site has

Most quotes start with a few simple details: date, location, guest numbers and diets. To send them, drop us a line using the enquiry form.

Jevington: your questions answered

Can you bring a truck or trailer to venues in the South Downs National Park?

We do, where the venue allows a catering vehicle. Lanes can be narrow and ground soft, so tell us how we’d get in.

Do you cater in villages like Jevington?

Yes, we cater in villages and hamlets as well as towns. Let us know about access and parking for the truck or trailer.

Can we have a build-your-own taco bar?

We can. A build-your-own taco bar can be served from the truck or a serving station, with fillings, salsas and toppings to choose from.

When should we book?

As soon as you have a date. Popular dates go first, so get in touch early.

Are plates and napkins included?

We confirm that with your quote. Tell us whether your venue has crockery or you’d prefer disposables.

How many guests can you serve?

It depends on the menu and how long service runs, but our truck and trailer service usually suits around 50 to 400 guests. For anything outside that, ask us.

What does a taco bar cost?

We don’t publish set prices, as each booking is different. Send us your details and we will quote for your event. See what Mexican catering costs for background.

How long are you on site?

We arrive in good time to set up before service. Serving times are agreed with you in advance, along with pack-down.

What happens on the day

Serving is quick: we serve from the hatch or a serving station, so a crowd is looked after quickly. Afterwards we clear our area. Planning an evening taco bar in Jevington? Sunset is around 8:50pm in late May, 9:15pm at midsummer and 7:05pm in late September. Once it gets dark, guests need to see what they’re adding to their tacos.

  1. Share a few details about the event.
  2. We send a sample spread and a quote.
  3. We check power, water and access with your venue.
  4. We set up the station and keep everything hot.
  5. At the end, we take everything away.
