Taco bar hire in Rock

Taco bar hire in Rock, from our truck or trailer

Fillings are agreed with you, such as pork carnitas, chicken tinga or beef birria, plus a vegan choice such as spiced mushroom or black bean and sweet potato. For wedding meals and working lunches, we can serve pickled onions and toppings, a build-your-own taco bar and guacamole and more.

Somewhere as small as Rock, a garden, barn or hall can host a taco bar. If lanes or soft ground stop the truck getting close, the station can be set up nearer your guests, as long as we can unload within a short walk. Access, space and power are agreed with you beforehand, so there are no surprises on arrival.

Prices and what affects them

Two events with the same number of guests can cost different amounts, because of:

  • Travel, parking and access
  • How long we are needed on site
  • The menu you choose
  • How many guests we’re serving

The cost per head can fall as numbers rise, because the set-up is similar for different sizes of event. Tell us your numbers for an accurate price.

What we need to know

Good planning starts with a few facts. Please include:

  • What you’d like on the menu
  • How we drive in and where we can park
  • A picture of the space, if it’s a garden or field
  • The date and time of the event

DIY taco night or a caterer?

A DIY taco night is possible for a crowd, but it’s more work than it looks. Fillings need slow cooking, tortillas need warming as you go, and salsas need making. Read our guide to taco bars.

Plenty of people try a DIY taco night at home. The usual problems are cold tortillas, running out of a popular filling and a host stuck at the stove. If you’d rather enjoy the party, let us serve.

Catering for every guest

Nearly every event has some special diets. To cater well for them:

  • Pick the spot for the taco bar in advance
  • Let us know about anyone who is coeliac
  • Make sure one filling is vegan
  • Set out seating near the bar

Indoors or under cover, the bar carries on whatever the weather, so plan somewhere sheltered if you can.

Burrito bowls sit well on the bar for anyone avoiding tortillas.

A build-your-own taco bar in Rock

Rock is about 6 miles north of Worthing, in West Sussex. Wherever your event is in the RH20 area, we will come to your venue or site, as long as there’s access. Rock is one of 371 towns and villages in West Sussex we cover. Our nearest city page is Brighton, about 13 miles away.

After a christening or wedding at a church such as The Parish Church of St Mary, a taco bar at a hall or garden nearby lets guests build their own tacos. Rock is within about 6 miles of the South Downs National Park, with barns and country venues that could host a taco bar. Where vehicles can’t reach the room, the station can be set up there with the venue’s agreement, but we still need to unload close by.

We cover events in every part of RH20 and the streets around it. Whether your event is on Old London Road, London Road and Lamorna Close or anywhere nearby, we will plan where to park and serve. Close by, we cover events in Washington (1 mile south), Heath Common (1 mile north-west), Sullington (1 mile west), Warminghurst (2 miles north) and Storrington (2 miles west). We also cater in nearby towns such as Horsham (11 miles north), Worthing (6 miles south), Bognor Regis (15 miles south-west), Haywards Heath (15 miles north-east), Burgess Hill (12 miles east) and Littlehampton (9 miles south-west).

How it works

We need a level, firm spot we can drive the truck or trailer onto, with power and water arrangements agreed beforehand. Send us a picture of the space if you are unsure. From late May to late September, sunset in Rock moves from about 8:50pm to 7:05pm. If the taco bar is outdoors and runs later, tell us what lighting the venue has.

  1. Begin with the date and headcount.
  2. We plan fillings and toppings around your guests’ diets.
  3. Nearer the date, we confirm timings and the serving spot.
  4. The bar opens at the agreed time.
  5. Once service is over, we pack away.

Common questions in Rock

Do you set up taco bars indoors in places like Rock?

We can, as long as the venue agrees. The station needs room for a queue, and we need to park and unload close to the door.

We are having a ceremony at The Parish Church of St Mary: can you cater afterwards?

Yes. The church itself isn’t where we’d set up, but a hall, field or garden close by with room for the truck or trailer can work well. Let us know the reception address and we will check the access.

Can guests build their own tacos?

Yes, a taco bar is one of our options. Tell us about your space and numbers and we’ll suggest the best set-up.

How far ahead should we book?

Early, particularly for summer Saturdays. Even if it is short notice, it’s worth asking.

How is the food prepared?

Food is cooked to order in our food truck or trailer, or served from a build-your-own taco bar. Fillings are slow-cooked beforehand and finished on site.

When do you arrive?

That depends on your event and menu. Timings are agreed in advance to suit your day.

How much is a taco bar?

Every taco bar is quoted for individually, depending on guests, menu, venue and timings. Contact us for a quote.

Can you cater for vegetarians and vegans?

Yes, they’re part of the planning from the start. Let us know how many vegetarian and vegan guests to expect, and we will keep their options separate.
