Taco bar hire in Steyning

Perfect for your event in Steyning

You are not limited to places a truck can park, like a barn, courtyard or hall, if the venue agrees.

Whatever the occasion, the serving truck can be a highlight. We are happy to cater:

  • Engagement and anniversary parties
  • Marquee parties
  • Staff parties
  • Birthday parties

After a christening or wedding at a church such as Jarvis Hall, a taco bar at a hall or garden nearby lets guests build their own tacos.

Before you book anyone

  • The deposit and payment dates
  • Whether plates, napkins and cutlery are included
  • A food hygiene rating you can check
  • Space, access, power and water needs

About our taco bar hire in Steyning

For a bigger spread, burrito bowls, nachos or quesadillas can sit alongside the tacos. Margaritas and aguas frescas from our drinks bar can be added, with licensing checked with you. It suits company parties and wedding day food, with guacamole, a build-your-own taco bar and slow-cooked fillings kept hot.

A place like Steyning may have a hall or a club nearby if your garden is small; the station needs a level surface, the venue’s permission and somewhere to unload. You can book food, drinks or both, so the food and drinks can come from one caterer.

Should I do it myself?

A DIY taco night is possible for a crowd, but it’s more work than it looks. There are fillings to slow-cook, tortillas to keep warm and salsas to make. Our taco bar guide explains how.

Plenty of people try a DIY taco night at home. The usual problems are cold tortillas, running out of a popular filling and a host stuck at the stove. If you’d rather be with your guests, we’ll do the serving.

Planners, venues and businesses

Wedding planners and venue coordinators are welcome to contact us directly, and we will keep everyone informed on the day.

Many venues have rules for outside caterers: vehicle access, arrival times and documents. Send us your venue’s requirements and we will follow them.

A build-your-own taco bar in Steyning

Steyning is about 4 miles north-west of Shoreham-by-Sea, in West Sussex. From the centre of Steyning to the outskirts, we offer the same service: fresh service from our truck or trailer, every diet planned for and a clear quote. Steyning is one of 371 places in West Sussex we cover. You can also see our page for Brighton, about 9 miles away.

By rail: Lancing station is about 4.1 miles away. Steyning is within about 5 miles of the sea, so for a seaside taco bar we plan around the wind. A sheltered spot for the station helps, and seafront sites generally need permission.

Planning for every diet

Dietary needs are easy to plan for with a little notice. We suggest:

  • Confirm a loading spot close to the bar
  • Set out seating near the bar
  • Tell us how many children are coming
  • Include a dietary question on your invitations

Fillings are kept hot and tortillas warmed in batches, so the bar stays fresh from the first plate to the last.

Burrito bowls sit well on the bar for anyone avoiding tortillas.

Common questions in Steyning

Could you serve our guests after a service at Jarvis Hall?

Yes. The church itself isn’t where we’d set up, but a hall, field or garden close by with room for the truck or trailer can work well. Let us know the reception address and we will check the access.

Do you cater at coastal events near Steyning?

We can, given firm ground and the landowner’s permission. Beaches and promenades normally need the council’s agreement, so check that first.

What guest numbers do you cater for?

Our service generally suits around 50 to 400 guests, while smaller parties are looked at case by case. Share your headcount and we will size the bar to suit.

How much does taco bar hire cost?

Every taco bar is quoted for individually, depending on guests, menu, venue and timings. For a price, drop us a line using the enquiry form.

What do you serve?

Mexican street food and drinks: tacos, taco bars, burritos, bowls, nachos and quesadillas, plus salsas, guacamole and toppings. A drinks bar is available too.

Can you keep it mild?

We can keep it mild, and hotter salsas go on the side for guests who like heat.

Do you have gluten-free options?

Yes, gluten-free options are available, using corn tortillas. Let us know about coeliac guests in advance so we can explain how we prepare their food. See are corn tortillas gluten-free?

Do you provide allergen information for each dish?

Yes. Tell us about allergies when you book. Under UK rules, caterers must give information on 14 allergens, and we give it for every dish (Food Standards Agency guidance). Anyone with a severe allergy should speak to us before the event.

What happens on the day

From set-up to service, we look after everything you’ve booked from us, so you can spend time with your guests. In Steyning, the sun sets at about 9:20pm in late June and about 7:05pm in late September, so a summer taco bar outside normally runs in daylight. For winter events, dark by about 3:55pm, plan good lighting over the station.

  1. Start with the essentials: the date, venue, headcount and diets.
  2. We plan the fillings and toppings with you and quote for them.
  3. We agree where the table goes and where our vehicle can unload.
  4. Our staff set up the station, keep the fillings hot and top up the bar through service.
  5. When service finishes, we clear the table and pack the vehicle.

Getting ready for the day

  • Plan a covered area for guests if rain is likely
  • Confirm numbers and diets before the day
  • Name one person we can ask on the day

How it compares

Compared with a hog roast or carvery, a taco bar handles vegan, gluten-free and dairy-free guests without separate plates. Extras, such as more dishes, extra drinks or a longer service, are quoted on request, so you choose what goes in.
