How our taco bar hire works in The Chart
Fillings are agreed with you, perhaps carnitas, chicken tinga or birria, with a vegan filling like black bean and sweet potato or spiced mushroom. It suits staff parties and evening wedding receptions, with slow-cooked fillings kept hot, guacamole and burrito bowls.
Near The Chart, a marquee or barn makes a good home for a taco bar. We set up the station and our team runs it. We turn up ready to serve, and tidy our own area afterwards.

Perfect for your event in The Chart
The bar becomes a meeting point: guests compare fillings and swap topping ideas as they go.
Big or small, a truck or trailer works well. Typical bookings include:
- Team socials
- Birthday parties
- Working lunches
- Engagement and anniversary parties
When the service is at a church such as St Andrew's, the taco bar would be set up at the reception venue rather than the church.

The Chart questions
We are having a ceremony at St Andrew's: can you cater afterwards?
Yes. The church itself isn’t where we’d set up, but a hall, field or garden close by with room for the truck or trailer can work well. Let us know the reception address and we will check the access.
Which station is closest to The Chart?
The closest is Hurst Green station, roughly 1.6 miles away.
When do you arrive?
We arrive in good time to set up before service. The length of service is agreed when you book, along with pack-down.
Can you keep it mild?
That is your choice: we can keep it mild and put the hotter salsas on the side. Read more about how spicy Mexican food is.
How is the food prepared?
We cook to order in our food truck or trailer kitchen, or serve from a taco bar. Slow-cooked fillings are prepared in advance and kept hot on site.
What happens if it rains?
We can serve from the hatch in the rain. Plan cover for guests, such as a marquee or gazebo, and let us know if the ground gets soft after heavy rain.
Can you do gluten-free food?
We can, using corn tortillas. Corn is naturally gluten-free, though some sauces and toppings can contain gluten, so we check every dish and give allergen information.
What is a build-your-own taco bar?
Guests take a plate and fill their tortillas from the dishes on the bar. We run the bar from set-up to pack-down.
Before you choose a spot
We’ll agree the spot with you before the day. It needs to meet a few simple requirements:
- A flat spot for the taco-bar station
- Power and water, which we confirm when you book
- A parking or loading spot near the serving area
If you are unsure, send a picture of the space and the way in, and we’ll say what we think.

For planners, venues and organisers
Throwing a party at home? Send us a picture of the space and tell us about the drive and gates, and we’ll let you know if it is a good fit.
Wedding planners and venue coordinators are welcome to contact us directly, and we’ll keep everyone informed on the day.
Taco bar hire or something else?
A standard buffet often sits out cold. Our fillings stay hot and the bowls are topped up as guests come back. Larger events can cost less per head, since the set-up is much the same either way. Give us your numbers and we will quote.
What you get with us
- Set-up planned with you and your venue
- Book food, drinks or both
- Fast service, even with a queue
- Served fresh from our truck or trailer
Read our pricing and the cost guide.
Can I do a taco night myself?
Some hosts like to do it themselves. The usual problems are cold tortillas, running out of a popular filling and a host stuck at the stove. If you’d rather enjoy the party, let us serve.
Not sure whether to do it yourself or book a caterer? Think about numbers, diets and how much you want to enjoy the day. Contact us for a quote to compare.
The process
We need a level, firm spot we can drive the truck or trailer onto, with power and water arrangements agreed beforehand. A photo of the space helps. Planning an evening taco bar in The Chart? Sunset is around 8:50pm in late May, 9:20pm at midsummer and 7:05pm in late September. After dusk, lights over the station help guests build their tacos.
- Send us your date, where the taco bar will go, numbers and dietary needs.
- We suggest fillings, salsas and toppings for the bar and send a quote.
- Together we fix the spot for the taco bar and a nearby place for our vehicle.
- We set out warm tortillas, hot fillings, salsas and toppings, and guests help themselves.
- After the last tacos, we clear the station away.
Getting ready for the day
- Share the running order, including any speeches
- Choose a level, firm spot for the truck or trailer
- Check gates and access routes are wide and high enough
