Taco bar hire in Whatlington, from our food truck or trailer

Our truck and trailer service generally suits around 50 to 400 guests, and smaller parties are quoted case by case. Share your headcount and we’ll size the taco bar to match. It suits evening wedding receptions and summer garden parties, with guacamole, slow-cooked fillings kept hot and fresh salsas.

Near Whatlington, a taco bar next to the truck in a field or garden works well. Let us know about the gate, the ground and the route in, and we confirm power and water arrangements before the day. Access, space and power are agreed with you beforehand, so there are no surprises on arrival.

How we price taco bar hire

We will give you a clear quote. The main things that affect it are:

  • What’s on the menu
  • The length of service
  • Parking and the route in
  • Guest numbers

Got a budget? Let us know, and we will suggest a menu that fits. A simple menu can still feel generous.

What to tell us

For a quote, it helps to have:

  • The address or venue name
  • Approximate guest numbers, including children
  • A picture of the space, if it’s a garden or field
  • Your date and when you want service to start

Tell us your date, venue or postcode and roughly how many guests, plus any dietary needs, and we will reply with a menu suggestion and a quote. To get started, fill in our quote form.

Common questions in Whatlington

Could you serve our guests after a service at St Mary Magdalene's Church?

Yes, at a garden, field or venue nearby where the truck or trailer can park. Service would be at the reception venue, not the church. Send us the reception address.

Which station is closest to Whatlington?

Battle station, about 1.9 miles south of the centre.

Do you clear up afterwards?

We pack down and tidy our own area after service. For anything beyond that, such as guests’ tables, ask us.

Do you have options for kids?

Yes. Mild dishes, quesadillas and nachos can be part of the menu. Tell us how many children are coming.

When do you arrive?

That depends on your event and menu. Timings are agreed in advance so everything fits your schedule.

Can you do gluten-free food?

Yes, gluten-free options are available, made with corn tortillas. Let us know about coeliac guests in advance so we can explain how we prepare their food.

Do you cater in Whatlington?

Yes. We cater across London and the South East, and Whatlington is within our area and the rest of East Sussex. For a quote, send us your details through our quote form.

Can you run a bar?

Yes, we offer a Mexican drinks bar, serving margaritas, Mexican beer, aguas frescas such as hibiscus and horchata, and soft drinks. Your venue or event may need the right licence for alcohol, so we will talk licensing through with you.

Is taco bar hire right for your event?

A taco bar and a truck serve the same food in different ways. From the truck, we put each order together; at the bar, guests build their own. Pricing depends on the event. A simple party menu and a full wedding day are very different jobs. Contact us for a quote.

What you get with us

  • Allergen information for everything we serve
  • A plan agreed before the day
  • Food and drinks from one caterer, if you want both
  • Served fresh from our truck or trailer

How it works

We get there well before you want to serve, set up the truck or trailer and get everything ready. When service opens, guests come up to the hatch or serving table. Daylight in Whatlington runs to about 8:45pm in late May and 7:00pm in late September. Let us know if an outdoor station will run after dark, and we’ll talk about lighting.

  1. Send us the date, venue and numbers.
  2. Together we choose what goes on the bar.
  3. The venue confirms where the bar goes and where we park.
  4. On the day, guests help themselves while we keep the bar stocked.
  5. When everyone has eaten, we pack up.

Getting ready for the day

  • Check the venue is happy to have a truck or trailer on site
  • Let us know the timings for the day
  • Give us your final numbers and diets

Planning help

Planning the serving area

No two venues are the same, so we’ll ask about yours when you contact us. Generally, we look for:

  • Cover overhead if the bar is outdoors
  • Space for a serving table on level ground
  • Power and water, which we confirm when you book

If you are unsure, send a photo of the space and the way in, and we will say what we think.

Popular choices

  • Salsas and guacamole
  • Two to four fillings
  • Pickled onions and toppings
  • Corn and flour tortillas
  • Tortilla chips
  • Vegan fillings

Working with your venue

Throwing a party at home? Send us a picture of the space and tell us about the drive and gates, and we’ll tell you honestly whether a truck or trailer will fit.

For larger events, we plan serving points around your timings, so guests are looked after quickly. Tell us how long you have for food and drinks.

Planning a taco bar in Whatlington

Whatlington is about 6 miles north-west of Hastings, in East Sussex. From the centre of Whatlington to the outskirts, taco bar hire works the same way: a truck or trailer at your event, options for every diet and a clear price. We cater in 289 places in East Sussex, wherever the truck or trailer can get in. We cater right across the region, from Whatlington to Royal Tunbridge Wells (about 17 miles away).

Nearby historic houses include Durhamford Manor (0.6 miles east). Historic venues often limit where vehicles can go, so ask whether a taco bar station could be set up inside while our food truck or trailer parks further off. Guests arriving without a car will want to know that the nearest station is Battle station, about 1.9 miles south. The High Weald National Landscape is within about 7 miles of Whatlington, with barns and country venues that could host a taco bar. Where vehicles cannot reach the room, the station can be set up there with the venue’s agreement, but we still need to unload close by.

Here we cover the TN33 postcode area, and we can cater your event anywhere in it with access for the truck or trailer. Other places close to Whatlington for taco bar hire include Sedlescombe (1 mile east), Swaile's Green (2 miles north-east), Cripp's Corner (2 miles north-east), Telham (2 miles south) and Kent Street (2 miles south-east). Within a short drive, we also cover Eastbourne (14 miles south-west), Hastings (6 miles south-east), Bexhill-on-Sea (7 miles south), Hailsham (12 miles south-west), St Leonards (6 miles south) and Polegate (14 miles south-west).

A little further out are Conquest Hospital (4.6 miles south-east) and Battle Museum of Local History (1.9 miles south-west). Open spaces near Whatlington include Church Wood and Robsack Wood and Senlac Hill.

  • Local schools include Claverham Community College (2.4 miles south-west)

Occasions we cater for in Whatlington

Building your own is quick, so a crowd is fed at a steady pace, which suits a wedding breakfast or a lunch break.

Whatever the occasion, our food truck or trailer can be the centre of it. We can cater:

  • Engagement and anniversary parties
  • Family celebrations
  • Back-garden gatherings
  • Retirement parties

If you are celebrating after a service at a church like St Mary Magdalene's Church, a hall close by could host a staffed taco bar, with the venue’s permission.

Before booking anyone

  • How long the service runs
  • The deposit and payment dates
  • Travel and parking costs
  • Plates and napkins, or nothing at all

How to compare caterers

Should I do it myself?

Running your own drinks table is one option, but someone still has to mix, pour and keep an eye on it all evening. Our margarita bar guide has tips.

Doing it yourself saves money, but the host ends up in the kitchen. With a caterer, you get the food and drinks without the work.

Popular choices
