A closer look at the menu

Warm tortillas

Every taco starts with a warm tortilla. We keep a steady supply going.

Hot fillings

A few fillings give guests plenty of choice, with at least one vegan. We agree them with you.

How we price taco bar hire

Every event is priced individually, and the price depends on a few things:

  • The number of people
  • Plates, napkins and cutlery
  • The length of service
  • Parking and the route in

There is no one-size-fits-all price for taco bar hire. A short lunch service for a team is a different job from a full wedding day. Contact us for a quote.

Details that help

You don’t need everything decided to ask for a quote, but it helps to know:

  • Roughly how many adults and children
  • The date and rough timings
  • What you’d like on the menu
  • A photo of the space, if it is a garden or field

Not sure what you need yet? That is fine: give us the basics about your event, and we will suggest a menu. To start, drop us a line using the enquiry form.

Is taco bar hire right for your event?

Next to a hog roast or carvery, a taco bar caters for vegan, vegetarian, gluten-free and dairy-free guests from one table. Got a budget? Let us know, and we will suggest a menu to match. Even a simple menu can feel generous.

Why us?

  • Menus chosen with you
  • A quote that sets out what’s included
  • A truck or trailer that comes to you
  • Events in Holywell and across East Sussex

Read our prices page and the cost guide.

Can I do a taco night myself?

You can set up your own drinks table, but someone still has to mix, pour and keep an eye on it all evening. See our margarita bar guide.

For a small group, a taco night at home can work well. For larger numbers, mixed diets or a wedding, a caterer takes the pressure off, with allergen information for every dish.

For event organisers in Holywell

Many venues have rules for outside caterers: vehicle access, arrival times and documents. Send us your venue’s requirements and we’ll follow them.

If your event is in a public space, such as a park, check what permission you need first. We’ll provide the information the landowner or council asks for from us.

Space, access and the venue

Many gardens, fields and venues can take a truck or trailer, but a few things matter:

  • Space for a line of guests at the bar
  • A level area for the taco-bar table
  • A short, clear path for carrying the bar in

If you’re unsure, send a picture of the space and the way in, and we’ll say what we think before you book.

What we offer

  • Vegan fillings
  • Pickled onions and toppings
  • Salsas and guacamole
  • Two to four fillings
  • Tortilla chips
  • Corn and flour tortillas

The process

The truck or trailer needs a level, firm spot with access to drive in, with power and water arrangements agreed beforehand. A picture of the space helps. Planning an evening taco bar in Holywell? Sunset is around 8:45pm in late May, 9:15pm at midsummer and 7:00pm in late September. After dusk, lights over the station help guests build their tacos.

  1. Contact us with your date and headcount.
  2. We plan fillings and toppings around your guests’ diets.
  3. We fix timings with you and the venue.
  4. The bar opens at the agreed time.
  5. Once service is over, we pack away.

Before we arrive

  • Confirm numbers and diets before the day
  • Arrange somewhere covered for guests to eat
  • Measure any gates or arches on the way in

FAQs for Holywell

How far is Holywell from central London?

Roughly 54 miles from the centre of London, and we cover it.

Can you bring your truck or trailer to Gildrege Park?

Only with permission from whoever runs the park, often the council. Ask them first, and we’ll help with the information they need from us.

Is the food made fresh?

We slow-cook fillings ahead, then finish them and keep them hot at your event. The tortillas are warmed on site, and the salsas and guacamole are made fresh.

Do you have gluten-free options?

Yes, we offer gluten-free options, using corn tortillas. Let us know about coeliac guests in advance so we can explain how we prepare their food.

Is there a minimum number of guests?

That depends on the menu and the service time, but around 50 to 400 guests is the usual range. Tell us your numbers and we will advise.

How many guests can a taco bar serve?

That depends on your timings and the event. Most bookings fall around 50 to 400 guests, so tell us your numbers.

What do you need at the venue?

A level, firm spot for the truck or trailer, with access wide and high enough to drive in, plus the venue’s permission. Power and water arrangements are confirmed with each booking.

Can you cater for guests who avoid dairy?

We can. We offer dairy-free options.

Before you plan a taco bar in Gildrege Park, find out who manages it, as catering and unloading there both need their agreement. After a christening or wedding at a church such as St John the Evangelist, a taco bar at a hall or garden nearby lets guests build their own tacos. Check with yours where a taco bar station and our truck or trailer could go. With the sea within about 2 miles, a taco bar at a coastal venue is an option. Open toppings and a sea breeze don’t mix, so a sheltered or indoor spot is best.
